Scorpions Overtake Brazil

No, not the band. But rather the stinging kind!

I am not going to lie, I was super excited for a minute.

Dollface thread.

by Anonymousreply 2May 11, 2025 6:37 PM

Are they rescue scorpions?

by Anonymousreply 3May 11, 2025 6:38 PM

[quote] They particularly like sewers, which are warm year-round, home to almost no predators and provide plenty of food, especially cockroaches. Some species of scorpion can survive for up to 400 days without food and are able to reproduce without mating, making them difficult to eradicate.

I have a new most hated animal.

I'm going to have to put this thread on ignore. I got a little nauseous when I saw the preview pic, as I do when I see Walter Goggins in the previews.

Stingface Thread.

My sister used to find scorpions in her house when she lived in Phoenix. They were the same color as her floor so she would only see them when they moved.

They're cool animals but I don't want to live anywhere near them.

R7 Reminds me of the time I stepped on a bee because it blended into the carpet, and it was buzzing in between my toes when it was stinging me.

by Anonymousreply 8May 11, 2025 9:29 PM

[quote]and it was buzzing in between my toes when it was stinging me.

It suffered more than you did, r8.

by Anonymousreply 9May 11, 2025 9:35 PM

Bees have pain receptors, r9? Who knew? Link, please!

Isn't the whole point of worker bees to die in favor of their Queen? I'd like to take a happier perspective: the little worker was happy to fulfill its genetic destiny in favor of the fat, immobile Queen. Much like the Trump administration, right?

[quote]I have a new most hated animal.

Except for the eating cockroaches part.

They have a very strong olfactory sense, r10.

by Anonymousreply 12May 11, 2025 9:55 PM

Worker bees (think Stepen Miller, Suzy Wiles, et al.) in the White House must also have an incredible olfactory sense to be able to withstand Trump's diapers and Walt Nauta's incursions into the West Wing to change him and wipe him down.

Some scorpions make hissing or clicking noises. They should try Rock You Like a Hurricane.

by Anonymousreply 14May 11, 2025 10:28 PM

A former Australian coworker told me he would always check under the toilet seat and rim to be sure there is no scorpions or spiders before sitting down. He had to unlearn that practice when he moved to the US.

by Anonymousreply 15May 12, 2025 1:24 AM

šŸŽµ I don’t like spiders and snakes
