What would your Pope name be?
The new guy knew his pope name right away even though he hadn't been expecting to be picked. I wonder if it's something that these cardinals daydream about. Or maybe it comes up at parties (I assume cardinals go to parties occasionally), like when I was in college and we'd talk about what we'd name our kids.
I would consider picking Aloysius just because it rhymes with "He's so delicious."

Oooh, R5. I love your choice in names!!!
BYW, someone in another thread wrote that Italians pronounce Leo, as Lay-Oh.
Please allow me to humbly correct this, if even so subtly:
It’s pronounced “Lë-Oh”not “Lay-Oh”.

Jeff - we don’t abuse people, usually have weed, and don’t try to worry peasants about a scary afterlife when the Teacher said we should love one another and enjoy our bee-like lives.

They should retire names that have been used too many times and stop using Roman numerals above IIII. While they're at it, if the can't find a Pope who wasn't enabling pedophiles then just don't have one.

I went to Georgetown, and 4 of my friends became priests (and 1 a nun). Several of them had already picked out their papal names as 20-year olds.
One declared that he wanted to set tongues wagging just by his name selection. He intended to be known as Pope Pius XII and would declare the prior Pius the 12th as an antipope. The earlier Pius the 12th had signed a treaty with the Nazis in 1933 pledging neutrality and inaction to Nazi aspirations. The Vatican stood on the sidelines while over 10 million Europeans (Jews, Gypsies, the handicapped, gays and other undesirables) were slaughtered in the Holocaust.

It would go against convention, but why not Sisyphus. Touches on both sissy and fussy.
