Amy Poehler ventures into live-action series with 'Dig'

[quote]Dig, from Universal Television (where both Schur and Poehler have overall deals), is based on the novel Excavations by Kate Myers. “Four women working at an archeological dig in Greece are at wildly different crossroads in their lives. When the team uncovers a long-buried secret with the potential to rewrite history, they find themselves at the center of a high-stakes international conspiracy.”

Sounds interesting enough.

Book had pretty middling reviews on both Amazon and Goodreads.

[quote]“Funny, smart and deeply delicious.” – Amy Poehler • “Witty and acerbic, Myers’ debut is humorous and sharply written, as if Aubrey Plaza’s April Ludgate from Parks and Recreation decided to write a sun-drenched novel about feminism, friendship, and archeology.” – Booklist

Hmm, I don't think DL is gonna love this.

I'll watch whatever she does.

She's my favorite.

She must use Madges plastic surgeon.

by Anonymousreply 4May 7, 2025 6:00 PM

I can see this tanking. Nothing she's done since Parks and Rec has stuck.

by Anonymousreply 5May 7, 2025 7:53 PM

Her complete lack of success after Parks and Recreation is surprising. I wonder if she's too one-note and can only play variations of Leslie.

She’s really thirsty. Always on every talk show, podcast and looking for attention.

I don’t think anyone cares.

Ugh, the two worst sites from which readers should take their recommendations. It's like going to Yelp for restaurant reviews.
