Majority in the UK self-identify as neurodivergent
Fuck me.
[quote]The UK has experienced a dramatic increase in autism diagnoses over recent decades, with recorded incidence rising by 787% over 20 years. Despite these increases, researchers estimate 750,000 undiagnosed autistic adults in England alone, suggesting current figures still underrepresent true prevalence.
[quote]Research consistently shows a significant overlap between neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ identities. Neurodivergent individuals are more likely to identify as LGBTQIA+ than their neurotypical peers, with studies finding that autistic people might be three to eight times more likely to identify as transgender or queer.

If everyone is neurodivergent then no one is neurodivergent and the non neurodivergent folks are actually neurodivergent.

I guess this has taken over from gender stuff. Good bye pronouns and non binary people.

I went to a local mall when visiting the Merseyside area, around Liverpool. There was an autism break room for people overstimulated by the mall environment. Anyone could go in it. I have never seen that before. Merseyside is a massive chemical dumping ground for mustard gas and whatever the early chemical industry wanted to discard back in the early days of industrial chemistry. Sure, there is no link though.

r3 That sounds insane, but I had always wondered why I got so exhausted in crowded spaces, until a couple of years ago when I realised I was just an aspie who gets tired by all the stimuli. So that break room actually sounds like an oasis if I had to spend the whole day at the mall. Which I haven't in decades, precisely because crowds exhaust me so much.
