Fashion icons duke it out! Naomi “blacklisted” from Met Gala, Wintour main suspect

The theme is black fashion influence!

by Anonymousreply 87May 7, 2025 1:58 PM

Two narcissists that nobody likes fighting over an event that lost all relevance a decade ago.

Did Naomi throw her phone at her? God I hope so.

by Anonymousreply 1May 5, 2025 11:45 AM

Isn't Wintour 108 by now?

by Anonymousreply 2May 5, 2025 11:54 AM

THIS is a scandal? Yawn.

by Anonymousreply 3May 5, 2025 11:55 AM

Wintour is one of the ugliest women I’ve ever seen.

by Anonymousreply 4May 5, 2025 11:56 AM

Good. Naomi has been long known human trafficker of Women

by Anonymousreply 5May 5, 2025 11:58 AM

The gala is tonight and they needed a quick McScandal to drum up some press

by Anonymousreply 6May 5, 2025 12:01 PM

Campbell lookd tertiblr. ugh

by Anonymousreply 7May 5, 2025 12:09 PM

Naomi is jealous that Anna has hair.

by Anonymousreply 8May 5, 2025 12:21 PM

Not convinced Anna has hair

by Anonymousreply 9May 5, 2025 1:46 PM

Anna should keep her glasses on.

by Anonymousreply 10May 5, 2025 1:50 PM

Bad link

by Anonymousreply 11May 5, 2025 1:59 PM

Metro has a way of pulling links when they get too much traffic.

by Anonymousreply 12May 5, 2025 2:02 PM

I’m the bitch?

by Anonymousreply 13May 5, 2025 2:05 PM

R1, the Gala is more relevant than ever now. It gets more coverage online than the superbowl. Its price per commercial during its livestream is about equivalent to the Super Bowl (1 million for six seconds vs. 6 million for 30s). The gals reached 1.4 billion unique impressions online. In 1995 a table of 10 cost 10k. Today the same table costs 350k. For major fashion brands and advertisers the event is more relevant than it ever has been.

by Anonymousreply 14May 5, 2025 2:05 PM

R8 That’s a ratty wig.

by Anonymousreply 15May 5, 2025 2:19 PM

[quote] Naomi is jealous that Anna has hair.

[quote]—She's bald af

So is Anna. Don't tell me you think that's Anna's real hair?

by Anonymousreply 16May 5, 2025 2:26 PM

They have so much in common. They both work in fashion, they are both British, they both scream and throw things at assistants, they're both well past menopause.

Can't they make up and bond over their shared memories of Queen Victoria's era?

by Anonymousreply 17May 5, 2025 2:34 PM

Remember that DL thread a couple of years ago (last year?) that said Anna's retirement was imminent? I suspect she plants these rumours among her staff herself, with each one given a slight variation of the story, in order to sniff out the rats if/when they go to the press. This bitch is gonna retire when she drops dead.

by Anonymousreply 18May 5, 2025 2:39 PM

Relevant to what r14?

A freak show always attracts attention.

by Anonymousreply 19May 5, 2025 3:24 PM

Tim Gunn confirmed he was banned from the Met Gala.

“I was asked what is the most unforgettable thing I’ve ever seen in fashion and I said, ‘It’s easy. It was watching Anna Wintour being carried down five flights of stairs by two bodyguards—two big hulking men—from a fashion show.’ All hell broke loose. It was insane. We’ve had an open war ever since,”

by Anonymousreply 20May 5, 2025 3:31 PM

R18 How will we know?

by Anonymousreply 21May 5, 2025 3:35 PM

So Anna has been wearing a wig since she was 14? That's how long she's had that exact hairstyle.

by Anonymousreply 22May 5, 2025 3:40 PM

I don't think that having the same hairstyle since the age of 14 means that it is not a wig now that she is 137 1/2.

by Anonymousreply 23May 5, 2025 3:43 PM

That's an old trick, r22--for a society or fashion doyenne to wear the exact same hairstyle for decades so she always looks like she doesn't age.

It helps especially when the hairstyle, like Ann's, is all bangs. Those can hide the wrinkles on the forehead and cheeks, and also that hide the hairline so the hair can be replaced by a custom-made wig when inevitably the hair grows thinner.

If you think that's her real hair at age 75, you're incredibly naive.

by Anonymousreply 24May 5, 2025 3:46 PM

[quote]so she always looks like she doesn't age.

I think maintaining a strong personal brand is more the point here. That hairstyle IS her by now, and she it.

by Anonymousreply 25May 5, 2025 3:58 PM

[quote]fighting over an event that lost all relevance a decade ago

I love it when people say this. It's a big deal, probably even bigger than ever, and raises a lot of money. Most people who talk about relevance are just mad at who gets invited now. I'm sorry, we are no longer in the mid-20th century. Times change, as do guest lists.

by Anonymousreply 26May 5, 2025 4:16 PM

Real question: What happens to Condé Nast when Anna finally hangs it up / dies? Vogue keeps the lights on and she isn’t exactly nurturing a viable replacement.

by Anonymousreply 27May 5, 2025 4:17 PM

Naomi has ruined her face with those cheek implants 🤢

by Anonymousreply 28May 5, 2025 4:21 PM

Nina Garcia wants to replace her.

by Anonymousreply 29May 5, 2025 4:21 PM

[quote] Real question: What happens to Condé Nast when Anna finally hangs it up / dies? Vogue keeps the lights on and she isn’t exactly nurturing a viable replacement.

She herself was not groomed to replace Grace Mirabella.

Vogue has survived through many iconic editors, from Frank Crowninshield to Jessica Daves to Diana Vreeland to Mirabella to Wintour. They will likely survive when Wintour finally shuffles off this mortal coil (she ain't leaving any other way, at least if she can help it).

by Anonymousreply 30May 5, 2025 4:25 PM

Naomi is a bitch and sociopath. Let the karma begin to rain on her. It might have started with how she is aging like a low budget wine.

by Anonymousreply 31May 5, 2025 4:30 PM

Naomi is a whore who must have slept with thousands of men...she must have herpes...that's why nobody wants to marry her. Used up, old and smelly pussy worse that cheryl's

by Anonymousreply 32May 5, 2025 4:35 PM

R30- you’re kidding yourself. Anna took over Vogue in 1988. That was 37 years ago! In terms of the media business, that might as well have been 100 years ago with how radically the landscape has changed. It’s a dying business and she is the last celebrity editor who really commands attention (and advertising revenue).

by Anonymousreply 33May 5, 2025 5:14 PM

Relevant to a multi-billionaire dollar fashion and cosmetics industry, r19. It is becoming just as relevant as the super bowl as far as advertisers are concerned. The super bowl doesn't reach as big of an international audience as the Met Gala does. It's pretty major - and this year particular so as the fashion industry awaits the first collections this fall from a series of extremely talented young gay boys who are now helming some of the biggest fashion houses (Chanel, Dior) in the world. It is may not be important to you. BUT it definitely hasn't lost relevance, it has only gained it in the past years.

by Anonymousreply 34May 5, 2025 5:44 PM

I wonder if Tim Gunn's ban and tiff with Anna Wintour is also the reason he was not asked backed to the reboot of Project Runway. He was sitting at home, waiting for the call. That would be insane if she literally blackballed him from the industry, if she still had the power to do so.

by Anonymousreply 35May 5, 2025 5:46 PM

Tim Gunn cannot.be blacklisted - we pay attention because he’s right every time.

And, I was hoping for a Dangerous Liaisons type ending for my dear Ms. Wintour, but her group has no spine.

by Anonymousreply 36May 5, 2025 5:54 PM

R20 was she bombed?

by Anonymousreply 37May 5, 2025 6:02 PM

I feel so sorry for Naomi's kids with a deranged narc mom. Campbell is 100% certifiable.

by Anonymousreply 38May 5, 2025 6:04 PM

Naomi is insane which is why no man wants to marry her.

by Anonymousreply 39May 5, 2025 6:05 PM

Does anyone who matters still go to that rubber chicken event?

by Anonymousreply 40May 5, 2025 6:06 PM

No they don't r40.

by Anonymousreply 41May 5, 2025 6:06 PM

Aren’t tickets $50k? It raises big time cash.

by Anonymousreply 42May 5, 2025 6:12 PM

“The super bowl doesn't reach as big of an international audience as the Met Gala does.”

That is fiction, not fact. 100% incorrect.

by Anonymousreply 43May 5, 2025 6:16 PM

Lame PR hacks bombing this thread

by Anonymousreply 44May 5, 2025 6:26 PM

I think Naomi is wonderful!

by Anonymousreply 45May 5, 2025 6:32 PM

OP’s photo makes me think Julianne Moore could play Anna in the movie.

by Anonymousreply 46May 5, 2025 6:41 PM

No, R25, that haircut IS Daisy Gamble and always will be.

by Anonymousreply 47May 5, 2025 6:54 PM

I remember Just Shoot Me! making fun of Anna when I was watching it as a CHILD. And now I'm here, a middle-aged man, and she's in the exact same position she was back then. This is not normal, it's a fucking gerontocracy.

by Anonymousreply 48May 5, 2025 7:07 PM

Anna just announced an Editorial Order placing 100% tariffs on any designer who employed Naomi in the past.

by Anonymousreply 49May 5, 2025 7:37 PM

R47 sent me back to AppleTV and I don’t regret it. My neighbors may have a problem with my upper register and they can suck shit.

I want a garden party where Yoko Ono and Anna trade wigs

by Anonymousreply 50May 5, 2025 7:49 PM

Next year's gala will be produced by Cultural Czar Stephen Miller.

by Anonymousreply 51May 5, 2025 8:01 PM

Nothing wrong with keeping the same hairstyle for decades.

by Anonymousreply 52May 5, 2025 8:26 PM

Gollum in a ratty wig

by Anonymousreply 53May 5, 2025 8:47 PM

Same, r48. Anna Wintour has been at Vogue since I was in elementary school. I'm now close to 50. hang it up, bitch!

These Boomers just refuse to let go.

by Anonymousreply 54May 5, 2025 9:47 PM

For R43, considering that nobody in other countries even watches the Super Bowl except American Expats, I am sure the Met Gala, which has international designers from the biggest fashion houses in the world "competing" I am sure it gets a bigger international audience.

As far as it's impact compared to the Super Bowl:

[quote]In 2023, software company Launchmetrics found that the Met Gala generated nearly double the "media impact value" (the monetary value of publicity generated) for brands than the Super Bowl, at US$995 million. In 2024, the Met Gala's figure rose to $1.4 billion.

by Anonymousreply 55May 5, 2025 9:50 PM

I'm tired of Anna's stranglehold on all things fashion for almost 40 years - it's ridiculous and unjustifiable.

Who will fill the gap? I don't care - and I don't think in the 2000's, we need anyone like this anymore.

by Anonymousreply 56May 5, 2025 9:52 PM

Are you really tied R56? People do like to be dramatic. Maybe she is there because she is fucking good. I would be curious to hear what your opinion is as to what she is doing wrong and what you would rather see instead with an example maybe.

by Anonymousreply 57May 5, 2025 9:55 PM

Naomi was friends with Epstein and Ghislaine, dated Diddy and was recently banned from running charities in the UK due to widespread financial mismanagement. I strongly suspect some other shoes will drop somewhere down the line

The woman is beyond sketchy.

R55 “found” = generated a number from random data with no confirmation of validity.

And, to your point, the World Cup makes the Met Gala look like a freshman showcase at FIT.

by Anonymousreply 59May 5, 2025 11:38 PM

Wintour is not "in the exact same position" as when you still had a waistline, dear. She is now Creative Director of all of Conde Nast.

by Anonymousreply 60May 5, 2025 11:42 PM

She’s more grating than that fat fuck from the south.

by Anonymousreply 61May 5, 2025 11:43 PM

The south of Westchester? He died in White Plains. And he was born in DC. And he went grad school in Providence.

by Anonymousreply 62May 5, 2025 11:53 PM

I think that the preview picture at the OP is the first time I've ever seen her eyes. And damn, she has one hell of a honker.

by Anonymousreply 63May 6, 2025 12:11 AM

R61 - which one? The South is well known for its abundance of fat fucks.

So many - can you give us another hint? Can I buy a vowel?

by Anonymousreply 64May 6, 2025 12:14 AM

R62 You must don’t know much about him. He grew up in North Carolina with his grandmammy.

by Anonymousreply 65May 6, 2025 12:15 AM

R64 Only one was close to Anna Wintour you dumb hoe.

by Anonymousreply 66May 6, 2025 12:15 AM

Plus back when Talley was born DC WAS the south.

by Anonymousreply 67May 6, 2025 12:16 AM

R66 - Ahh...The one who wrote the book and trashed her before he died. The one who lived in tents the last 20 years of his life. The one with picket-fenced teeth. The one who claimed he was still a virgin, even though we know he bought rent boys and tried to use his position to get young men in bed.

THAT fat fuck? Right-o. Well, she has a point.

by Anonymousreply 68May 6, 2025 12:19 AM

R65 if you knew, you’d now be spent far more of life in the north than in the south. Take a hike on I-95.

by Anonymousreply 69May 6, 2025 12:33 AM

Wintour ruined the Met Gala a long time ago.

Cunts of all coloraturas who know and care nothing for art or fashion shitting up the air with their arrogance is NOT a worthy cause.

by Anonymousreply 70May 6, 2025 12:36 AM

She also received blood diamonds from Charles Taylor, the Liberian dictator. I wouldn't be surprised if she started dating Kim Jong Un, r58.

by Anonymousreply 71May 6, 2025 1:28 AM

Veep plays it down the middle

R71 - how come on, they have always brought her luck.

Blood Diamonds, by Charles Taylor. Exclusively at Macy's.

by Anonymousreply 73May 6, 2025 4:24 AM

R71 I began to suspect something was very off when she was called to testify at The Hague about her interactions Taylor and acted... inconvenienced.

I not some massive Mia Farrow fan but at least she had the decency to treat the whole affair with the respect it deserved.

R72 Woot. It’s official. She is running for California governor.

by Anonymousreply 77May 6, 2025 12:51 PM

Datalounge people- I have a question 🙋‍♂️

Does Anna Wintour wear a

RATTY Korean wig ?

by Anonymousreply 78May 6, 2025 12:56 PM

R59, that still doesn't change that fact that globally the Met Gala has become more important than the Super Bowel and generating more ad dollars overall. That was the conversation being had.

by Anonymousreply 79May 6, 2025 1:25 PM

R79 oh wow. Thats impressive.

by Anonymousreply 80May 6, 2025 1:50 PM

My super bowel ain’t making me any money. It’s retired.

by Anonymousreply 81May 6, 2025 4:14 PM

I didn’t realize how homely Anna is. No wonder she wears the same hairstyle all the time.

by Anonymousreply 82May 6, 2025 6:05 PM

R74 Miss Farrow & Miss Campbell are both very pretty 😍

by Anonymousreply 83May 7, 2025 11:05 AM

Homely is generous. Thinks she is Dorian Gray but is actually the painting.

by Anonymousreply 84May 7, 2025 11:10 AM

[quote][R59], that still doesn't change that fact that globally the Met Gala has become more important than the Super Bowel and generating more ad dollars overall.

Total bullshit.

by Anonymousreply 85May 7, 2025 1:35 PM

[quote]The annual gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art — the flashy fashion extravaganza that highlights the city’s social scene every May — raised a record $31 million this year, museum officials announced on Monday, the biggest gross in the event’s 77-year history.

[quote]The Super Bowl stands as one of the most significant annual events in the United States, generating substantial revenue across various sectors. In 2024, Americans spent approximately $17.3 billion on Super Bowl-related products and services, with projections indicating that spending for 2025 will exceed $18 billion.
