No. And I'm not overly sympathetic to people who buy loads of shitty "Christmas merch" from China or wherever.
The US might have a good standard of living if its people didn't spend their earnings on big cars every few years, foods that are principally corn meal crammed with preservatives and colorants and artificial flavors, ugly houses, cardboard furniture, and mountains of flimsy plastic shit that nobody needs. But they seem happy. And fat. And have lots of useless junk.
