What is it with republicans and fluoride?

Why are they so fixated on this?

by Anonymousreply 7May 3, 2025 5:55 AM

They weren't before, but now they've got RFK and he comes with his own world of crazy. Also, all those conspiracists need some reward for staying true to Trump and never wavering all through the Biden years. Fluoride and the vaccines are that reward.

I've said it before, but they won and there's nothing we can do about it. Bitching and crying and "spreading awareness" won't help. Just tune out and hope the courts aren't too packed when it's time to start reversing all this nonsense in 2029.

Because its woke, obviously.

Because MAGAts don't have teeth and they desperately want to be in the majority.

R1 I had a coworker back in the 2000s who was into all these conspiracy theories like chem trails. And even she mentioned fluoride, so I don’t think this is anything new.

Well, they're all going to be surprised to find out that water contains trace amounts of fluoride in it naturally. Perhaps they can cease drinking all fluids and see how that works out for them.

RFK Jr is a conspiracy theorist and is drudging up old shit because he's crazy.

The fluoride in the water thing goes way back to when they started putting fluoride in the water. I remember reading something about the John Birch Society getting worked up about it int he 1960s, and since we know it was Charles Koch (the father of the infamous Koch brothers) who funded the Birchers, we know it's grounded in a theory that the rich really do want the poor to just work until death, which should come early so we don't have to pay for health care. Dental disease kills people in undeveloped countries, and study after study has shown that putting a penny's worth in the water results in healthier teeth and thousands of dollars in savings over the long haul, so it has to be just malevolence at this point; simply not wanting the populace to get any benefits from government whatsoever.
