Florida teacher resigns after writing to his 11 year old student: 'You Know I Truly Love You'

A Florida middle school teacher is expected to be charged with harassment over a letter he allegedly wrote to a female fifth-grade student.

In a copy of the letter, the teacher allegedly wrote to the girl: "You know I truly love you no matter what, that will never change.” The letter was signed off with “love,” and then the teacher's name. The teacher’s alleged letter also included a request for her to keep the correspondence a secret.

Local news stations first reported this week that the teacher's alleged letter was discovered by the parents of his former 11-year-old student. The teacher has not been identified because there have been no criminal charges filed against him, according to the outlets.

Not a drag queen.

by Anonymousreply 1May 2, 2025 4:58 PM

Lol.

What a weirdo.

by Anonymousreply 2May 2, 2025 4:59 PM

If he hadn't told her to keep it secret, he might have gotten away with it.

That was the kicker.

Heterosexuals are SICK and DIGUSTING

by Anonymousreply 4May 2, 2025 5:01 PM

What exactly is the crime here?

by Anonymousreply 5May 2, 2025 5:07 PM

I believe he passed the note in class, r5.

by Anonymousreply 6May 2, 2025 5:09 PM

Ew, he really IS creepy!

And that note is just ridiculous.

The penmanship is ... interesting.

Sucker for love. Why not just fuck her?

by Anonymousreply 8June 1, 2025 7:31 PM

I'm glad he was caught before anything else happened, but just to play devil's advocate: if it were a female teacher who had wrote to the girl, would charges still have been filed?

by Anonymousreply 9June 1, 2025 7:38 PM

🎵 AND AAAAAIIIII….. WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOUUUU…. 🎵

by Anonymousreply 10June 1, 2025 7:46 PM

Creepy. Especially the handwriting

Light of his life. Fire of his loins. His sin. His soul.

by Anonymousreply 12June 1, 2025 8:09 PM

Sadly, the girl was unable to read the letter, since the letters in the words were all joined together. She had to show it to her parents to know what he was saying.

by Anonymousreply 13June 1, 2025 8:11 PM

R9. In today's society? Yes. They probably would have labeled her a lesbian whether or not she was one.

by Anonymousreply 14June 1, 2025 8:13 PM

Nice handwriting.

by Anonymousreply 15June 1, 2025 9:08 PM

Not defending him by any means, but I'm getting serious arrested development/Peter Pan syndrome vibes from this guy.

His handwriting, contents of the letter to the girl, the twee bowtie. He also apparently told one of his 11-year-old male students (after the kid's mother sent him an email asking about his homework): "Be a man and ask me yourself if you have a question. Don’t have your mommy send me messages."

He probably genuinely didn't consider his behavior wrong because he thinks of himself as one of his students' peers.

Contents of the letter.

[quote]You made me mad the other day and made me throw away my note back to you. I guess I will start over. I am sorry for putting slime all over you yesterday. I thought we could have some fun together but didn't think about you getting upset with me. You know that I truly love you and no matter what that will never change. I really love being your teacher and more importantly, I love how close we have gotten this year. We have had a lot of fun this year and made memories that I will always remember. On another note, I will say that it bothers me when you look directly into my eyes and lie to me. You forget that I know you pretty well. When you put your head down, ignore me, etc. I know something is wrong. You then typically will talk to all of your friends right after you tell me "I just don't feel well," which is a lie. Why do you do that to me?? I love that you are in my class and that we've gotten so close this year. I don't think you are that weird anymore :) I am glad that you like school and I hope that I play a huge part of that. Starting today, I will try my best not to smile at you anymore. I know you "hate it" when I smile or therefore happy! So l'll stop. I hope you'll write me back but I won't expect anything. :( Love, Mr. Williams (your favorite teacher "only because I have to be") P.S. I'll keep our notes between us and won't show your friends. So, you do the same.

That's so frightening. A man suffering from psychosis is in charge of a classroom full of kids? Delusional ideas of reference involving a child who is on his care 5+ hours a day?

The letter is odd. It sounds like it was written to a peer/friend, rather than a young child and a much older adult. As a teacher, I don’t really see it as grooming. However, I could see how it could be perceived that way.

by Anonymousreply 19June 1, 2025 9:40 PM

Dude even sucks at being a pedo. He probably could have gotten away with it if he didn't put the bit about not telling anyone in writing.

by Anonymousreply 20June 1, 2025 9:49 PM

R20 he didn't tell her not to tell ANYONE, just not to tell her friends.

Truthfully, if he took out that part and the sentence "You know that I truly love you and no matter what that will never change" the letter would almost, ALMOST seem deceptively innocuous. That's the weirdest part about this whole thing to me.

by Anonymousreply 21June 1, 2025 11:13 PM

Of course, it's Florida.

Meanwhile, the handwriting looks like it belongs to a 10-year-old girl. Arrested development, for sure.

by Anonymousreply 22June 1, 2025 11:14 PM

Mild case of gayface

by Anonymousreply 23June 3, 2025 3:12 PM

Red flags galore.

by Anonymousreply 24June 3, 2025 3:18 PM

Gross - what on Earth would drive any grown man to write a letter like that to an 11 year old?

JFC - what a headcase - writing like he's a 10 year old girl and getting mad because she won't smile at him?

And the female teachers fucking their students - as young as 12 - those cases are so frequent. Every other month there's another case.

Back in my day, my teachers held us up just above contempt. There were a few 'favorites' - the suck-ups or troubled kids who needed extra love or attention. But most of my teachers were stand-offish at best.

R25, it's actually way more common more male teachers to abuse their kids

There were abusive teachers "in your day" - it just didn't make headlines

by Anonymousreply 27June 3, 2025 3:26 PM

I see nothing wrong with sending that to an 11-year-old.

by Anonymousreply 28June 3, 2025 5:41 PM

This is almost as creepy as the teacher who stalked an 11 YO student, for her to read over summer break. He wrote 60 individual notes, one for each day they were separated, and asked her to read one each day. This guy was voted "Teacher of the Year". He looks a little autistic and special, but how could a grown adult be so needy and sick?

Over the years, my kid has had some great teachers…but not that many. Many of his teachers and administrators are stunningly unprofessional and, yes, seem to see the students as their peers. It does appear to be a profession that attracts nut cases and bullies.

Even the most polite and gentle questions will cause them to lose their shit. They are so unaccustomed to being questioned about anything. They are attracted to the profession because they perceive children as being at their mercy. Many are bullies.

It is a very hard job. Our district pays very well, but many don’t. For the districts that don’t pay well, you have to wonder what draws people to the job. Many times it’s not a good motive.

by Anonymousreply 31June 3, 2025 6:37 PM

You all talk about his handwriting when the picture clearly states: Stock image of handwritting.

by Anonymousreply 32June 3, 2025 6:52 PM

Agreed R31. We moved to a town in NJ that has an exceptionally good public school system and even here there are some nutbars and have been some scandals. Just a few months ago a middle school teacher went on leave for mental health issues and a month or two later caused a townwide school lockdown for threatening to pull a mass school shooting "tomorrow". He went through a psych hold/evaluation process and is now being criminally charged.

I used to judge parents who opted to "homeschool," but now getting to know the underbelly of public education, I can see how if this (my town) is as good as it gets, there are surely some places where homeschooling is indeed the better option if you can do it. Most families with full time working parents cannot, and are at the mercy of the public education available to their family.

R32 we're referring to the vid at R7 that shows the actual letter he wrote. STFU.

by Anonymousreply 34June 3, 2025 7:06 PM

Say what you will ('cause I know you will), but I never trust a grown man who wants to spend copious amounts of time with kids who aren't his own.
