Why do bisexual people need to be lumped in with gays and lesbians?

It’s not like they ever took up the fight for gay rights or anything. Every bisexual man I’ve ever met in my life has been a closet case who is terrified of anyone finding out they like men. A particularly funny story, one bi guy I knew about 20 years ago, wanted to go with me to a nude gay club, but he put on glasses and insisted I call him a different name there, as if anybody’s even going to care.

At the end of the day, after getting the rocks off they just run back to their girlfriend or wife, because that is their cover for being “normal.“ And if you ever insinuate that they might be gay they fly off the handle, as if you had just called their dead mother a whore.

by Anonymousreply 46May 5, 2025 7:28 PM

Because they are gay or lesbian at least some of the time.

Unlike everything after the 3rd letter in this mess:

[quote]LGBTQQIP2SA: any combination of letters attempting to represent all the identities in the queer community, this near-exhaustive one (but not exhaustive) represents lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, pansexual, two-spirited, and asexual.

R1 This is off topic but a curiosity of mine. Back in the 90s when I was coming of age, I remember reading on gay message boards that two spirit was a Native American term for gays and lesbians. It seems that now the definition of two spirit has shifted to mean trannies. Go figure.

If being lumped in with others bothers you that much, just declare yourself straight. Problem solved.

by Anonymousreply 3May 2, 2025 4:52 PM

We have this thread every week.

by Anonymousreply 4May 2, 2025 4:59 PM

Hell, I don't even trust really feminine lesbians.

by Anonymousreply 5May 2, 2025 5:00 PM

R5 And butches turn into transmen eventually. Don't trust women.

by Anonymousreply 6May 2, 2025 5:03 PM

Drop the "B."

Drop the "T."

by Anonymousreply 7May 2, 2025 5:03 PM

I don't get why bisexual people bother you so much, OP. We exist, I've been this way for over 30 years and nothing's changed. We're not trying to convert anyone, just live our lives. It's not true we don't advocate for gay and lesbian, trans rights. I do. I have. Speak for yourself.

by Anonymousreply 8May 2, 2025 5:04 PM

Yeah, but do you have a same-sex relationship? And are you male or female?

by Anonymousreply 9May 2, 2025 10:56 PM

I guarantee you that R8 is a straight woman in a relationship with a man who identifies as “bi” because she kissed a girl once in college. She’s an “ally.”

by Anonymousreply 10May 3, 2025 8:52 PM

Is this the same op that started the other lumping thread just a few days ago concerned about the lumping going on with a different letter? If so will we be going thru all the letters?

by Anonymousreply 11May 3, 2025 9:04 PM

Because every political group needs as many members as it can get of you want politicians to pay attention.

Just a Gay group isn’t enough. LGBTQ adds in lots of people, making the group and its allies into a major political force.

Do you think all Whites are the same? Blacks? Asians? Latinos? No, diverse bunches come together because fhey have the same goal of equity.

if you get rid of L B T, you have made the remaining group powerless

by Anonymousreply 12May 3, 2025 9:05 PM

A major goal of the GOP with its anti-trans stance was to split a traditionally Dem-leading powerhouse political group.

And it did because we fell for the GOP’s standard Bs

by Anonymousreply 13May 3, 2025 9:06 PM

OP in time you will be over him. It was never going to last. Look at it this way you were just a warm hole a port in a storm.

These stories of a gay man facing rejection and experiencing lost love and falling for a straight married guy are so fucking heartbreaking and sad.

Kleenex time I am not ashamed to admit,

by Anonymousreply 14May 3, 2025 9:12 PM

Why do certain individuals need to gatekeep what’s an atypical sexuality and what isn’t?

by Anonymousreply 15May 3, 2025 9:14 PM

It should be LGBT6, where the "6" is a lot of straight guys after 6 beers.

by Anonymousreply 16May 3, 2025 9:16 PM

R15 Because it’s OUR fucking community, not yours.

by Anonymousreply 17May 3, 2025 9:16 PM

R13 yes the GOP , I know when I discovered the DL I was shocked at how much anti trans posts I saw. I had never ran into that kind of trans hate before the DL.

I am not sure if that was the exact point you were making or not

by Anonymousreply 18May 3, 2025 9:18 PM

Did bisexual people ASK to be lumped in? Who did the lumping anyway?

by Anonymousreply 19May 3, 2025 9:30 PM

Drop the hate, and those who perpetuate it.

by Anonymousreply 20May 3, 2025 9:38 PM

In recent surveys of genz it was found that the B greatly and the T by a little outnumbered the G. .I predict based on this more or less lumping in the future.

by Anonymousreply 21May 3, 2025 9:38 PM

Oh look, another hate thread.

by Anonymousreply 22May 3, 2025 9:41 PM

All the bi people I know eventually marry opposite sex partners.

by Anonymousreply 23May 3, 2025 9:52 PM

Why are transgenders included in Gay and Lesbian? Most G&Ls have no connection or interest in people who have this mental illness.

by Anonymousreply 24May 3, 2025 10:28 PM

Surveys in the US show that most people who identify as “bi” are women in relationships with men. I don’t mind including B in LGBT, but the identity tourism by straights trying to rebrand themselves as “special” is galling.

by Anonymousreply 25May 3, 2025 10:41 PM

The arrogation of “special” status by boorish, unstylish people is just as bad.

by Anonymousreply 26May 3, 2025 10:44 PM

Knew a guy who was Bisexual - Liked Men and Boys.

by Anonymousreply 27May 3, 2025 11:51 PM

[quote]Because every political group needs as many members as it can get of you want politicians to pay attention.

[quote]Just a Gay group isn’t enough. LGBTQ adds in lots of people, making the group and its allies into a major political force.

That's worked out tremendously well for visibility of one letter -- and the invisibility of the rest. A double whammy

by Anonymousreply 28May 4, 2025 9:16 AM

R12 is spot on.

We may not like it or agree with it - but that's political reality. We are all othered. In case everyone hasn't noticed, all of our federal rights and anti-discrimination protections are being removed by the Trump administration. It's what they said they would do in Project 2025. They get the whole lot of us at one time. We should all just deal with it and move ahead because this is wasting time and energy. If the Trump administration removes rights/discrimination laws then the red states will follow. Then it filters down from the government and seeps out into general society and norms. Everyone should have a think about that. Not just about what it means for us but for gay children growing up in those states.

We need to STFU and start paying attention.

by Anonymousreply 29May 4, 2025 9:41 AM

I have had calls from outraged Bi friends who have heard of this thread. They claim they are outraged at being lumped. We are neither women or fags was the nut of their outrage at this lumping..

As someone always says here at the DL——make of that what you will.

by Anonymousreply 30May 4, 2025 10:22 AM

I think it can be hot on a guy.

by Anonymousreply 31May 4, 2025 11:10 AM

Bisexual female = really into fem boys

Bisexual male = narcissist

by Anonymousreply 32May 4, 2025 12:05 PM

Bisexuals generally run back to the safe harbor of marriage/heterosexual relationship. It makes things so much easier with family and friends. Aren’t they the best?

by Anonymousreply 33May 4, 2025 9:48 PM

To R16-You got that right!!

"What's the difference between a Gay man& a str8 man"

"A 6 pack and 3 shots".

by Anonymousreply 34May 4, 2025 10:12 PM

Drop the T Drop the B Drop the L Drop the G Drop yourself Suck your own dick then arrest yourself for doing it Burn your birth certificate and fake your own death

All problems solved now you are not associated with anyone

by Anonymousreply 35May 4, 2025 10:17 PM

R33 chin up. In no time you will be over him. It’s sad but some men just prefer pussy. Stay strong.

by Anonymousreply 36May 4, 2025 10:26 PM

Go read the r/bisexualmen subreddit. It seems male bisexuality is less an orientation and more a fetish for an organ: the penis. Endless exclamations about how they don't feel anything for men and never could, how "gross" that actually is, and just getting dick down their throat and up their asses (they're mostly bottoms), no matter who it's attached to really, is paramount. It's common that they're worse than the most sexually deranged gay man you've ever met. A lot of them seem like trannies in waiting, too.

by Anonymousreply 37May 4, 2025 11:52 PM

Yeah, cause we always go home with the guys from the baths or at least become pen pals.

by Anonymousreply 38May 5, 2025 12:02 AM

R37 or they’re in denial about being bisexual and are trolling for partners who fetishize about hooking up with a “straight” guy and are just playing that role. They don’t like men at all! They just tripped and fell hole first onto their 1000th dick that month, you see

by Anonymousreply 39May 5, 2025 12:04 AM

I like the visual stuff of both but definitely gravitate towards guys but it’s not like some primal urge to rent a room at Days Inn and leave the the door open.

by Anonymousreply 40May 5, 2025 12:41 AM

R37 now you get it having sex with a bi man is often not making love it’s often a form of jacking off for them. Strictly a way to get off, . Just with another partner thus more interesting, if woman were easy like men are he would likely be with a her

BI men more often than not IMO are not confused they are sex addicts.

. If you are looking for love with that married straight guy the problem is you not him. Enjoy the getting off or don’t fucking do it,

by Anonymousreply 41May 5, 2025 8:38 AM

This is a stupid question. Bisexuality is about sexuality. Same as Homosexuality.

by Anonymousreply 42May 5, 2025 8:51 AM

Bisexuality is not a sexuality it’s more an addiction. And bi sexuals are interested in sex not fucking flags, You may claim it’s the same as homosexuality if you want to.

by Anonymousreply 43May 5, 2025 8:59 AM

If only there were a simple scale of, let's say, zero to 6 with zero meaning 100 percent hetero and 6 meaning 100 percent homo. Everyone could just put a number on their dating profile.

by Anonymousreply 44May 5, 2025 9:14 AM

Where would you rather lump them?

by Anonymousreply 45May 5, 2025 9:19 AM

R41/R43 Correct! Have you ever heard of a man cheating on his male partner with a woman? Of course not.
