Where did you eat before or after the concert? How was the weather last night?

by Anonymousreply 1May 2, 2025 10:28 AM

Did you make it through without a black eye or broken bone?

by Anonymousreply 2May 2, 2025 1:26 PM

Did you miss hearing most of her hits?

by Anonymousreply 3May 2, 2025 1:35 PM

Did you yell 'yas Queen!' ?

by Anonymousreply 4May 2, 2025 1:43 PM

Why?

by Anonymousreply 5May 2, 2025 1:46 PM

Did you wear a cowboy hat and chaps like Robert Fuller?

by Anonymousreply 6May 2, 2025 1:53 PM

^^ If you did wear chaps, were they DIY chaps??

by Anonymousreply 7May 2, 2025 1:58 PM

How was the hairography?

by Anonymousreply 8May 2, 2025 2:17 PM

Great questions. Apologies for the delay, but I had meetings all day and then.. KYLIE tonight. It's a very full concert week. I shall now answer your Qs to the best of my ability...

[quote]Where did you eat before or after the concert? How was the weather last night?

R1 - We're staying DTLA and actually had a delicious meal at Hatch before the show. After the show, we, of course, had a bacon wrapped hot dog from one of the dozens of cart vendors outside the stadium. It was actually chillier than I realized it was going to be, but that didn't really matter once the show got started.

[quote]Did you make it through without a black eye or broken bone?

R2 - Not so much as a scratch. Though, I must admit, the unsolicited booty grind from a couple of Aunties who could probably tell me what it was like growing up before the Civil Rights Movement was... not my favorite part of the experience.

[quote]Did you miss hearing most of her hits?

Firstly, she performed quite a lot of them: Single Ladies, Diva, Crazy In Love, Irreplaceable, Love On Top, If I Were A Boy. Secondly, since I THINK I'm safe from the Beyhive here, I can admit that I'm not the biggest fan of Cowboy Carter. I think the song 'American Requiem' is a masterpiece and 'Texas Hold 'Em' is cute, but, overall, the album never clicked for me. But, I think even casual fans of that album can enjoy the show -- those songs really do come alive in person and she has world class musicians, singers and dancers performing with her -- not to mention the insanely stunning production design. I can't imagine what this production costs, but it all looks expensive as fuck.

Also, I will say, I'm a HUGE fan of the last album -- Renaissance. It's just much more in my wheelhouse wearing its defiantly gay/queer influences on its sleeve. So, personally, I was thrilled by how much of Renaissance she performed. And, no, she didn't perform them "Country" style. If you're more a Renaissance gal, you'll still find MUCH to enjoy in this tour -- something I was pleasantly surprised by.

[quote]Did you yell 'yas Queen!' ?

R4 - I did not, but I cheered throughout.

[quote]Why?

Because she puts on one HELL of a show and I happened to be in town for work, so why the hell not?

[quote]Did you wear a cowboy hat and chaps like Robert Fuller?

I wore neither. I was boring -- just wearing a black t-shirt and jeans, as was my friend/coworker. But, the gays and gals showed up. I have never seen so many cowboy hats in LA! And, yes, there were plenty of chaps -- assless and otherwise. It was cute seeing everyone's creativity.

[quote]How was the hairography?

She could teach a masterclass. All kidding aside, my goodness, the way she moves is mesmerizing -- whether full on dancing, strutting down the catwalk, giving the camera "face" etc. -- it's all so captivating.

And, no one asked, but, I wasn't taking attendance, but the place looked absolutely packed. Presumably, a lot of tickets on the resale market get gobbled up at the last minute. That's exactly what we did -- we secured our tix 30 mins prior to showtime and got a very good deal for Floor seats.

I HIGHLY recommend bringing Loop Earplugs (look them up) as the sound mix is so loud that it can be muddy at times -- those earplugs can help make the sound better in many cases.

Any other Qs?

by Anonymousreply 9May 3, 2025 11:14 AM

I like Loop earplugs. They help retain my sanity because concerts are so loud

by Anonymousreply 10May 3, 2025 11:20 AM

I’m personally getting over huge concerts. They’re all beginning to look and sound the same—big extravaganzas that are so fucking loud

by Anonymousreply 11May 3, 2025 11:32 AM

Thanks for the report.

by Anonymousreply 12May 3, 2025 1:43 PM

I am going to Cowboy Carter tomorrow. Saw Kylie last night. This weekend is what gay men of a certain age refer to as "Heaven."

by Anonymousreply 13May 3, 2025 1:58 PM

I saw Kylie. Yes, full of gay men. Unfortunately, the production felt sort of cheap and poorly staged to me.

Yes, she can really sing

by Anonymousreply 14May 3, 2025 6:43 PM

Did Beyonce drag out her daughters?

by Anonymousreply 15May 4, 2025 12:52 AM

A friend who is not a Beyonce fan said she's great in concert. Apparently he received free tickets.

by Anonymousreply 16May 4, 2025 1:00 AM

R13, R14- I was at Kylie, too! Yup, this is a VERY gay week in LA! Sure, Kylie's production is, of course, dwarfed by anything Beyonce can do, but I loved Kylie's show, too. It's very sleek and minimalistic, but Kylie has such undeniable star power and charm that it was refreshing to have the concert artist be the true focus.

R15 - Yes, the eldest daughter is now officially one of her dancers and, I'll say, she kept up with those incredibly talented dancers in Beyonce's ensemble. She's definitely picked up a few things from Mommy. And, yeah, Bey also had her younger daughter appear with them during the song Protector, which was a lovely moment. The younger daughter wasn't so much performing as just coming on stage with Mommy. She was visibly thrilled to be on stage and kept waving 'hello' to the crowd with a giant Cheshire grin plastered across her face. It was very sweet. The Matriarch, Tina, also briefly came on stage to pose with Bey and the grandkids.

by Anonymousreply 17May 4, 2025 7:13 AM

Beyoncé can definitely put on a great show. In fact, she songs sound better with a dazzling show around them

by Anonymousreply 18May 4, 2025 11:12 AM

In fact, her songs sound passable with a dazzling show around them.

by Anonymousreply 19May 4, 2025 12:56 PM

[quote] ...she songs sound better...

That is the title of my next album.

by Anonymousreply 20May 4, 2025 1:11 PM

she songs non songs at the Malibu mansion sea shore

by Anonymousreply 21May 4, 2025 1:21 PM

Has Beyonce piled on the weight since her last tour? Her thighs and upper arms look massive.

by Anonymousreply 22May 4, 2025 1:27 PM

I know her.

She fat.

And fake.

And untalented.

And loaded with herpes from her "husband."

by Anonymousreply 23May 4, 2025 1:29 PM

PSA: all chaps are "assless," by definition.

[quote]Beyoncé-Knowles-Carter made a change to the visuals used on her "Cowboy Carter" tour after receiving a cease-and-desist letter from Las Vegas Sphere owner James Dolan.

[quote]Prior to the change, Sphere Entertainment Group Co. reportedly demanded the singer remove the visual by May 5, claiming she used Sphere’s imagery “without permission." According to the letter, it amounted to "unauthorized use of the company’s intellectual property.” The entertainment group accused Beyoncé of “impermissible use and violation” of the company’s intellectual property rights, which “has resulted in significant speculation that Beyoncé will end her tour with a Sphere residency.”

^^^ She changed the visual to Allegiant Stadium in Vegas, the venue where it was announced she would end her Cowboy Carter tour weeks ago. Sphere has sour grapes because it could not meet her terms so she went back to Allegiant where she did her Renaissance shows.

by Anonymousreply 26May 7, 2025 3:27 AM

BTW, the "Cowboy Carter" show is spectacular!

by Anonymousreply 27May 7, 2025 3:28 AM

Are the tickets still $20? How embarrassing.

by Anonymousreply 28May 7, 2025 3:37 AM

LJo, if you can find a $20 ticket you should buy it, it would be tax-deductible as a continuing education training course.

by Anonymousreply 29May 7, 2025 4:27 PM

If you're considering picking up a last minute ticket to tonight (Fri. 5/9) in LA, be sure to take concert earplugs (like Loop bran earplugs) as they will make a huge difference in balancing the sound -- especially in the lower sections.

by Anonymousreply 30May 9, 2025 6:39 AM

Good haul.

She must weigh around 200lbs.

by Anonymousreply 32May 14, 2025 12:57 AM

I saw her last Friday. Honestly it's a fucking great show. I wish I could see it again.

by Anonymousreply 33May 14, 2025 1:01 AM

R33 - how was the sound at your performance? I saw one of the performances the prior week. I agree that it was a great show. My one complaint was that the sound was not great. Watching back my phone videos from the night I can hear every level of the sound in near-pristine quality, but in the stadium it was often a washy mess obscuring her (still very strong) vocals and the fantastic band and background singers.

by Anonymousreply 34May 14, 2025 1:15 AM

Did you lose a bet?

by Anonymousreply 35May 14, 2025 1:17 AM

I didn't notice any sound issues. It was loud and clear and more often than not intense. Her voice sounded amazing. Incredible visuals too.

by Anonymousreply 36May 14, 2025 1:24 AM

r36 - interesting. May I ask which section you were seated in? (if you recall)

It definitely wasn't just me. Multiple people in our section were actively complaining about the sound -- some of them definitely less than objective "Hive" members... so if THEY'RE complaining... you know it's real. We were on the Floor, to house right of the extended "pointy" stage she often walked out on.

by Anonymousreply 37May 14, 2025 1:29 AM

Sure I was in Section C243.

by Anonymousreply 38May 14, 2025 2:30 AM

R38 - interesting! I heard from two friends who were also in 200s sections that the sound was great there. Shame they can't figure out how to get the sound right for the whole stadium. Now I at least know for next time where to aim for!

by Anonymousreply 39May 14, 2025 6:09 AM

Did you have to stand the whole time to see the performance, or could you remain seated?

by Anonymousreply 40May 14, 2025 6:14 AM

I went twice. The first night sound wasn't great because I was in club level loge right under one of those sound towers. Second night I was in 200 level and sound was much better.

by Anonymousreply 41May 14, 2025 9:14 PM

How terrible was it?

by Anonymousreply 42May 14, 2025 9:18 PM

Can someone explain why her children don't go to school, and are instead being dragged out on stage in a new city every night?

She needs to be investigated by CYF.

by Anonymousreply 43May 14, 2025 9:32 PM

[quote]Did you have to stand the whole time to see the performance, or could you remain seated?

R40 - it will 100% depend upon where you're seated and the makeup of the audience members in closest proximity to you. We were on the Floor, so, no gradient/slope, so, yes, we were standing 90% of the time. We were also surrounded by (some fabulous) aunties in their 60s-70s and those ladies danced up a storm, but also needed to rest their feet sometimes. I think you'll find, in some sections, folks will sit down during quieter moments/ballads and/or during brief interludes in which Beyonce is off stage changing costume. Keep in mind, there are MASSIVE screens which are showing a combination of pre-recorded visuals and live footage of Beyonce and, unless you're standing just feet away from her, you will be looking at those screens a lot, so standing isn't 100% necessary. I will say, that was one part of the performance that impressed me enormously. I don't quite know how she does it, but he knows expertly how to play to the camera AND to the massive audience at the same time. I guess that's what decades of making music videos + doing stadium tours gets you.

Also, don't forget, if standing is an issue for you, most venues will have accessible seating areas, too, but, generally, avoid the floor.

[QUOTE] Can someone explain why her children don't go to school, and are instead being dragged out on stage in a new city every night?

They don't attend school. They have private tutors that travel with the family, like the Jolie Pitt kids who were dragged round film sets for years.

by Anonymousreply 45May 15, 2025 2:53 AM

Sir Carter is almost definitely some kind of autistic nightmare who has sensory issues and hates loud noises or he would be dragged to Bey's concerts too.
