Growing up we had family friends who were big dog people, they lived for their dogs. The father who was also a doctor would let the dogs lick him in the face and mouth. My mother said to him one time " Frank how can you let that dog do that to you' Frank replied, " I will have you know that dogs mouths are cleaner than human mouths" and my mother replied, " well I don't know how clean their mouths are but that dog was licking his ass a couple of minutes ago."

Odd that my fussy cat has no problem when the dog licks her. But not too much, dog is a tinsy bit afraid of her.

Every day, but not on the mouth. I kiss right cheek, left cheek, right cheek...she turns her head for me.

My cat was 5 when I adopted her and has some sort of CPTSD. She has rules about petting. Only light petting with fingers on the head and neck for about a minute, and only after she tells me she wants it. If I brought my face down on her unexpectedly she might panic and reflexively lash out at me, and neither of us want that.

Two cats, one dog. I kiss the boy dog and boy cat on the lips once a day. The female will only kiss of her own accord. In fact if I ask the dog for a kiss he will jump and lick my lips. I love kissing my pets. I find nothing wrong with it.

They stick their noses in their ass and genitalia (not to mention other cats and dogs) and into just about any garbage on the street. When I had pets I’d kiss them on their heads that’s it.
