Jeremy Renner turned down ‘HAWKEYE’ Season 2 when told that he would only earn half of his Season 1 salary

But as to why he declined Season 2 in the article he says, “They offered me half the money. I’m like, ‘Well, it’s going to take me twice the amount of work for half the amount of money, and eight months of my time, essentially, to do it for half the amount.’”

So now the entire cast and crew is out of work - when he caused the accident that’s set them all back in the first place! (Renner admits he forgot to engage the snowplow‘s emergency brake.)

I had no idea there's a Hawkeye superhero, and proud of it.

Is Renner popular enough that turning down the part means the end of the series? It's only S2 -- a recast would be easy and cheaper.

Marvel's Hawkeye character's power is his ability to use a bow and arrow.

He is the equivalent of DC Comic's Green Arrow.

he was so interesting when he first appeared on the scene in "The Hurt Locker," but he's never been interesting since.

It's astonishing he thinks he can still command at age 54 the same artificially inflated salary he once did.

As far as Marvel shows go, Hawkeye was actually a pretty good show.

It sounds like he thinks they offered him less because he'd be doing less because of his injuries. Stupid reason.

However, he was really unnecessary after Season 1 made another character, "Hawkeye."

Sad, they trashed the whole thing.

I think he started the house rehab hobby to explain why he always had a younger handsome male at his side. But they probably remodeled the bedroom first.

He’s gone downhill in the looks department as well.

For someone who most of the industry still believes is an invalid, it wasn't a good call to turn this down as it's likely that Disney didn't write many stunts in it for him, thus the lowered salary. Hope that losing those few extra dollars was worth it.

In his case, pride came before and after a fall.

This was in the planning stages before Disney got an updated insurance quote on Jeremy, so they then made him an offer he could refuse.

I wish he’d get it through his thick skull that he’s not the prize he thinks he is. Hawkeye is a mid-tier hero who is the most meh creation in the marvel universe. And renner is a void of charisma who is excruciating to watch.

This can’t be true because according to women, men get paid top dollar and are overcompensated.
