Next nationwide 'Hands Off' protest planned for APRIL 19TH!
It's a Saturday. The goal is to get this one as close to 11 million in attendance as possible, so it's very important that we all spread the word as much as possible. Hang up signs at work, hand out fliers to neighbors--anything you can do.
Because of the turnout on 4/5, MSM is actually advertising this one. This is excellent progress. Don't give up, bitches--they're taking notice.

I know foresight is always 20/20 but it just hurts everytime I think about moreso than November of last year. Everytime I see Momala’s beautiful face she should be president right now. . If I were Kamala I would have just been frank with the public. “Look my internals have this being an electoral landslide. I’m not going to lie to you. But we cannot allow Trump to get back in White House. He is going to ruin the economy. We must get out and vote and convince others to change their minds.”

April 19 is the anniversary of the start of the American Revolution. (250 years ago.)
It's also the day before the 90 day deadline Trump set in his January EO for a study to be completed on what he declared to be an emergency at the southern border. That EO references invoking the Insurrection Act if the report does not show that enough progress has been made to control the border. The Insurrection Act allows deployment of the military to control civil disorder. So, not "technically" martial law, but effectively martial law.

If everyone attending can just recruit one friend or family member to come with them, we can double the size in attendance. Send out group texts to everyone in your circle. Offer to carpool if you can.

Thank you, R4! It's crazy to think how easy it would actually be to double the 4/5 numbers.
By the way, Wikipedia now has the Hands Off protest listed as the third largest in US history (5.2 million in total attendance). And that was just one day.

They should have scheduled it for the following weekend (IMO), not Easter weekend. Too many 'family events' and 'community events' take place on that Saturday.

By the way, if you don't have a sign yet/don't know what to put one one, just bring an American flag. The more the better. It's something MAGAts can't say shit about, and it pisses them off immensely to see our side reclaim it.

If you search "anti-trump protest signs" on etsy, lots of private sellers are printing up some really cool ones for around $20. You can even get them in multi-packs for family members/friends.
I ordered this one (mainly because of the hot model).

Kind of unsure exactly what the “Hands-Offers” are protesting. Do they have specific grievances? It’s difficult to tell from their messaging. Seems most like just a general sort of discontent.

These protests, when they get big -- OK so maybe they don't depose our horrible President. But they motivate a lot of us who attend. You can carry that feeling with you for a long time afterward, and some of us need it to keep going.

R31 If you’re so certain about what you’re protesting, why can’t you even articulate it? Every protest I’ve ever attended had a specific focus. At least R32 can be honest and say it’s more about fellowship and commiseration than anything else.

It’s stronger than that, R33. The reason it’s challenging to describe the purpose succinctly is that there are like 20 or 30 ways this US presidency is the worst, most anti-democracy, most corrupt, most damaging to our civil rights, the list goes on and on. It’s a perversely impressive feat of the Trump-Vance admin and cabal.
But do not mistake this for “not knowing” why we are protesting.

If we get more people out to protest does this mean that the Trump admin will leave office early? Otherwise it’s 3+ years of Trump controlling the WH, the Senate, the House, the Courts, while dems control nothing except getting people out to protest.
If this were like the UK where we could have a new election then it would mean something important.
Too little far too late. But I bet many who decided not to vote will be out in the streets showing their displeasure.

R48 it’s the view of anyone with common sense or an understanding of history. You can speak for yourself.
If the protests ever gain actual traction over a significant period of time, which they have not done so as of yet, the easiest way to gut the protests and the left and have troops in the streets is for some well planned anonymous violence during one of these protests.
It would be so easy to do. And with some planning easy to get away with.
With that 0-3 sweep of a win the right knows it has its foot on the neck of the confused disorganized dems . They do not plan to let up. And dancing in the streets will do shit to change it.

My own feeling is that at some point they should organize a protest for DC alone and try to get as many people there as possible - like, millions of people. I think that would have a greater impact than separate protests in cities around the country (although those are good too).
As for whether it does any good: Trump's approval is dropping fast. (His approval on YouGov is now down to 41%.)

At the small-burb good-turnout protest I attended people appearing mostly 45 and older, which was too bad but also heartwarming as there was a nostalgic sense they had probably protested before over the decades. Shades of No Nukes!
This protest was moved from another town with a questionable excuse. Many speculated it was because a pro-Trump group was going to disrupt.
Sadly, it appeared only two 20-somethings (holding a trans sign) attended. When the scene broke up we all stood on the main road in the rain holding up our signs to passing cars who gave vigorous supportive honks. As a NYC bound bus drove by, at the very last seat, someone held up a sign from inside:
DEPORT TRUMP to EL SALVADOR!
If you are on the fence, just go and look at the signage. People put in effort and they are worth a laugh. You also will feel like there’s hope and good people in your zone

The Sacramento rally won't be at the State Capitol. It was moved to a nearby park that's half the size. I don't know what that's about. My back was acting up last time so I didn't attend. Nobody is defending suspected violent gang member criminals R5. The judges, and real Americans simply want the law to be followed and everyone to have due process as the Constitution guarantees. We have protocols and laws to deport criminal immigrants, we also have protocols to call them back (note ICE deports hundreds of people each year by mistake). All the Judge is asking is to see their plans/protocols - what they've done so far, what they plan to do and why they can't return them to justice here - you know, evidence - not just someone's vapid, uninformed, racist opinion - which of course they are entitled to, but they don't get to convict other people with it. We have laws for that.
