I've always wanted to drywall my bed into the ceiling, just didn't have the courage.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | February 27, 2025 2:37 AM |
I've never watched Hoarders but I imagine this is a mild case of it, at the very least.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | February 27, 2025 2:42 AM |
Pic 13 illustrates how attractive a grease and/or piss stain on a fitted sheet can be!
by Anonymous | reply 3 | February 27, 2025 2:46 AM |
R2, yeah, I wonder how bad it was BEFORE they tidied up for the real estate photographer’s visit.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | February 27, 2025 2:46 AM |
You never know when Doris Day will stop by and she just loves a good powdered donut!
by Anonymous | reply 5 | February 27, 2025 2:54 AM |
Does the Chewy box mean they have pets or is it just another box to store hoarded items? I hope it's the latter.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | February 27, 2025 3:06 AM |
It's all fun and games until a Midway plane crashes into it.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | February 27, 2025 3:16 AM |
Poor thing - it's an elderly person with dementia who collected things. It's not quite at the level of hoarding. All of this can be easily removed and fixed up.
Strangely - it has SOLAR PANELS?
Not in the worst neighborhood - very close to Midway airport. But not exactly a hip or fun area.
This isn't as awful as some of you say.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | February 27, 2025 3:35 AM |
Oh boy. Oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy. I bet it was all they could do to clear the pathways. They’d have had more room for boxes if they didn’t have such giant furniture.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | February 27, 2025 3:36 AM |
That’s not Chicago. It’s Cicero. The best neighborhood in Cicero, but still Cicero.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | February 27, 2025 3:38 AM |
And yet somehow they just RAISED the price on this!
by Anonymous | reply 11 | February 27, 2025 3:38 AM |
R10 - it's not Cicero. It's south of Cicero - it's in the city of Chicago.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | February 27, 2025 3:41 AM |
R12 60804 is Cicero. If it was Chicago, the ZIP code would be 606 something.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | February 27, 2025 3:44 AM |
Such *careful* cropping of the bathroom pics.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | February 27, 2025 4:02 AM |
R11 Right? That's the first thing I noticed and holy fuck yes that's hoarding! Full body shudder.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | February 27, 2025 4:34 AM |
The outside is nice, at least
by Anonymous | reply 16 | February 27, 2025 4:36 AM |
Is everything included?? What treasures to be had.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | February 27, 2025 4:45 AM |
There HAS to be mice and roaches, no?
by Anonymous | reply 18 | February 27, 2025 4:57 AM |
Not bad, but not the way I would have staged it
by Anonymous | reply 19 | February 27, 2025 9:49 AM |
That's awful.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | February 27, 2025 11:28 AM |
[quote]It's not quite at the level of hoarding.
Wtf?
by Anonymous | reply 21 | February 27, 2025 12:07 PM |
R3 "grease and/or piss"
You should be so lucky.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | February 27, 2025 12:18 PM |
I love it.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | February 27, 2025 12:18 PM |
I admire thriftiness.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | February 27, 2025 12:19 PM |
Is this near Lake Superior? Does it get very wet?
by Anonymous | reply 25 | February 27, 2025 12:22 PM |
So many Chewy boxes. My late evil stepmother (whq died of oxy overdose) would order all sorts of things from her bed, and would never open the boxes. My alcoholic father would just pile them in the living room and drink himself into obliviion.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | February 27, 2025 12:40 PM |
Love. Soft as an easy chair.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | February 27, 2025 12:45 PM |
It’s closer to Lake Tahoe, Rose (R25).
by Anonymous | reply 28 | February 27, 2025 12:45 PM |
Right next to the yoga studio and steakhouse. I kid.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | February 27, 2025 12:52 PM |
Has anyone found the cats yet?
by Anonymous | reply 30 | February 27, 2025 12:59 PM |
Why, it's the most disgusting, atrocious thing ever to happen in America!
by Anonymous | reply 31 | February 27, 2025 1:51 PM |
I like the wind chimes in the bathroom.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | February 27, 2025 1:52 PM |
No, it is not Cicero. It's up 59th from Midway Airport.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | February 27, 2025 2:28 PM |
Once upon a time, neighbors would have hounded them about the condition of their backyard.
Also, this is an area where some of the alleys can hide an18 wheeler until product disappears. I was told there was a telephone chain for neighbors whenever airport security refused a shipment.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | February 27, 2025 3:44 PM |
I am FURIOUS that these photos were taken before I could bring the last three trucks in for the staging!
It's very important to me that the new owners have the same aesthetic as I have.
Especially in case I decide to keep living there without their knowledge.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | February 27, 2025 3:52 PM |
“ property need work”
Ya don’t say?
by Anonymous | reply 36 | February 27, 2025 4:16 PM |
Pop six squish uh uh Cicero
by Anonymous | reply 37 | February 27, 2025 5:18 PM |
It's a sad little working class bungalow floating in a huge sea of similarly sad architecture on the wrong side of Chicago. It never aspired to be more than it is. And there has been no "sea change" in the neighborhood (or the one next to it, or the one next to that) brought about by gentrification that never happened. I don't expect there are many bright newspaper features about new, young neighbors bringing stylish changes and the rise of shops selling $4.75 artisanal donuts.
What were you expecting if the interior? Less shit, I imagine? Fewer things attached to the exposed beams of the ground floor above? Farrow & Ball paint in surprising pairings? Next year's Pantene hot colors today? A Property Brothers kitchen with Diamond®️ cabinetry and Corian®️ quartz countertops and everything Wayfair®️? Jonathon Adler kitsch?
by Anonymous | reply 38 | February 27, 2025 5:46 PM |

Yes, Rose.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | February 27, 2025 7:00 PM |
Once you've seen it, you can't unsee it...
by Anonymous | reply 40 | February 27, 2025 7:56 PM |
There is no south 59th St. in Chicago. Apparently the agent doesn’t know how to enter in the address.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | July 10, 2025 6:11 PM |
Where are you seeing photos of the interior on that link?
by Anonymous | reply 42 | July 10, 2025 6:16 PM |
Maybe because it's off market, now?
by Anonymous | reply 43 | July 10, 2025 6:17 PM |
[quote][R12] 60804 is Cicero. If it was Chicago, the ZIP code would be 606 something.
Post Office designations do not have to align with city limits.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | July 10, 2025 6:58 PM |
The listing says South 59th CT (court) not ST.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | July 10, 2025 6:59 PM |
[quote]There is no south 59th St. in Chicago.
But is there a Shubert Theater?
by Anonymous | reply 46 | July 10, 2025 7:00 PM |
Yikes. And I see Chewy boxes—I feel sorry for the pets who have to live in this.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | July 10, 2025 7:59 PM |
If that ceiling were any lower, it would be the floor.
Nothing else matters.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | July 10, 2025 9:12 PM |
I had lesbian friends who lived like this. Well, not quite THIS bad but they were on the starter path to this.
One was sane but the other one just had some serious issues. Wouldn't throw anything away and every flat surface in their home was covered with junk.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | July 10, 2025 9:16 PM |
On the bright side, Cicero is just a stone's throw from avowed heterosexual Nicholas Fuentes' lovely Berwyn home.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | July 10, 2025 9:21 PM |
Do all the houses in the neighborhood sell for this cheap, or just this one?
by Anonymous | reply 51 | July 10, 2025 9:33 PM |
That’s probably about average for that area, but what they don’t tell you is is that it’s by the water treatment plant and the smell wafts over the neighborhood.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | July 10, 2025 11:15 PM |
For some reason, I can't open the pictures on this listing. 😞
by Anonymous | reply 53 | July 10, 2025 11:17 PM |
Neither can I R53
by Anonymous | reply 54 | July 10, 2025 11:29 PM |
R53 They removed the photos from OP's listing.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | July 10, 2025 11:47 PM |
The link at r47 still has the pics.
