Any other fans? It’s always been a favorite of mine.
I do enjoy an occasional 4 oz glass of 100% Concord grape juice. I as a rule do not buy much fruit juices and instead eat table grapes instead.
I do LOVE Concord grape Crystal Light. I fix myself a glass of it nearly every afternoon around this time of day and it always satisfies my dry throat

I was never really a grape juice drinker as a kid - probably because my parents only ever bought orange juice and limeade concentrate.
As an adult, it's okay, but not really something I'd seek to buy.
Now, wine...yes. Too much. And now I've quit that (again).

For the youngsters out there, that used to be the way you got juice: frozen concentrate came in a can which you'd pour into a pitcher, add 3 cans of water and stir.

Fruit juice is loaded with sugar.
Be sure to vigorously swish a healthy amount of water in your mouth after drinking grape juice so as to not stain your teeth. Or perhaps drink the grape juice through a straw so that it reaches your throat before assaults and soaks your teeth.
Of course, if you use a straw too frequently, you will get wrinkle lines around your lips due to excessive puckering. You can't win.

R55 back-pedalling. You gave a school marm lecture at R53 for what purpose? Grape juice has a lot of sugar, people know that, so they are mentioning it in this thread. No need to "do research".
by Anonymous | reply 57 | February 12, 2025 10:02 AM |
oops the school marm lecture at r51. So let me get this straight. We can't talk about grape juice having a lot of sugar because orange juice has more than grape juice. Despite the topic here being GRAPE JUICE. Birthday Cake has more sugar and fat than grape juice. I suggest you do cake research before you start comparing sugar loads.

I remember how I loved grape juice as a kid, the real stuff, not any of these grape flavored drinks. But once I moved out of the house in 1970 I can honestly say that was the end of my relationship with grape juice. I can't say that I've had one sip of it since then. Well, there was that one time a friend asked me to go to church with her one Sunday which I reluctantly did. She was a Baptist and I had no experience with any church other than the Episcopal church I grew up in. That Sunday they had communion. They had people bring around these big round silver contraptions that each contained about 50 glass vials of purple liquid. Everyone took one and passed the thing on to the next person after drinking the juice (it was nothing but grocery store grape juice - not the real Episcopal wine I was accustomed to).

There used to be a woman on public access when I was a kid who had a show about holistic and natural cures for common ailments. My friends and I would get together and watch her because she was nuts. I think her name was Pam.
Anyways, one of her big things was using 100% pure grape juice on acne to dry it out. She taught that there was something or other in the juice that would draw out the toxins of a zit.
Summer before my senior year of high school, I got a huge zit on my inner thigh, so I got some pure grape juice and soaked a paper towel in it and held it on the zit for a half an hour like Pam suggested.
After a few days, it worked, Or nature just took its course and it exploded on its own.
Thanks Pam!
by Anonymous | reply 64 | February 12, 2025 12:22 PM |
R60 correct. I have an education. You clearly do not.
What was said is many orange juices have more sugar than grape juices. That is not saying grape juice is low in sugar. That was never stated. One product having more sugar than the other doesn’t mean the lesser is low sugar, it means it has less sugar. That is all. It’s quite simple.
The fact that had to be explained to a grown fucking man is insane.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | February 12, 2025 12:46 PM |
Have always enjoyed, albeit infrequently, grape juice. My favorite was to buy the Welch's frozen concentrate. reconstitute it, and enjoy the first and second glass for it's rich, almost buttery smoothness and true Concord grape taste and aroma. 🍇( yes, I know they are not Concord grapes, closest I could get) 🤫
After that the juice seemed to lose its fragrance and oomph or punch or "savoriness," difficult to describe unfortunately. I just chalked it up to oxidation, gone was that delightful combination of lord knows how many natural flavors that contributed to the drink I enjoyed. I still drank it, it just wasn't as good as those first 2 glasses.
And anyway, screw 'em. The damn company was co-founded by the man who started the John Birch Society. 😲

R98, most sensible humans know the difference between most-healthy eating and the aesthetic pleasure of other eating.
They apply the "moderation in all things, including moderation" principle to their eating, and remind those people who some few may interpret as being micro-scolds of it, to fend off the inadvertent insult of supposing strangers want to be lectured about things they already have integrated intentionally into their lives. And then to close with a smile they say, "Chew on that."
Chew on that.
