McDonald’s drops diversity initiatives after pressure from activist
Why is everyone so afraid of this guy?
McDonald’s has become the latest American business to abandon diversity initiatives after facing pressure from activists. The fast-food chain said it will no longer set “aspirational representation goals” and will end its requirement for suppliers to make a diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) commitment. The policy change will apply to the company’s operations worldwide.

Good. DEI is just extreme left wing, virtue signalling crap.

It’s white supremacy exhibiting its dominance. Minorities will be blocked whatever way they can be

In this instance, it can be a good thing for diverse people.
Let the ignorant white supremacists make their own fries. 🍟

DEI is communism redux.
And it puts too much emphasis on dark skin/females/disability for the hiring process instead of, you know, talent/hard work/constitution for the job.
All it does is breed mediocrity and puts unqualified people in unsuitable jobs.

Bullshit. Trump has stacked the courts and there’s been no significant blowback to McDonald’s bottom line. Chick Fil’A is even winning the fast food culture wars. Not one thing smacks of this being a righteous civil rights crusade, down to the plastic haired Brownshirt glowering in the OP’s post. Meanwhile real people who may otherwise give a shit are on the ropes and remember the shellacking an “occupy Wall Street” movement took from all corners. This is a return to the desperation of the pre-civil rights 1960s. A tinder box of apathy vs explosive violence. And so unnecessary given the wealth this nation has to share vs the greed and racism/classism it is choosing to ratify.

Every time I go to a McDonalds there is a BOOMER couple who refuse to use the kiosk or app. I like watching them wait in front of the cash register for twenty plus minutes getting angrier and angrier. The employees literally run away now if you try to wave them down or speak to them. They do that at every location here. Eventually they’ll send someone out to take an order but usually they’ll interrupt that order to leave and do something else without fully checking it out, forcing the boomers to wait for another ten minutes. Never once have I seen a boomer give up on waiting and try to use the kiosk. It’s just funny how much the experience sucks. I think fast food chains colluded to lower the quality of their service simultaneously so none of them would have a competitive disadvantage from cost cutting too much.

Magats live to scapegoat.
I'd love to know how DEIs have ever negatively impacted anyone's life. Any sob stories are likely shared by entitled morons, or exaggerated, or downright made-up.
God forbid the wrong kind of people earn a living.

None of these companies ever wanted to do DEI in the first place. They were forced into it by political pressure. None of them are crying that they’re allowed to dump it now.

For a huge chunk of Trump voters, the election was not about inflation or immigration or even trans. It was about Black Lives Matter and Me Too. We’re about to see a pretty shocking rollback,

Sadly DEI was always just a post BLM act.
We need true DEI where everyone is given opportunities and exposure to types of jobs. That’s all DEI is—exposing people of all races and ethnicities to the existence of particular careers. It doesn’t guarantee anyone a job

Good maybe they can start on on focusing getting the orders right.
