Will there be a tribute to Linda Lavin at the Tonys this year
I'm thinking they should give her a special tony award.
The woman gave a multitude of iconic performances in the theater and hasn't never been fully appreciated. She is one of the greats, and it's nice to have seen just how much respect and esteem the Broadway community had for her.
She is up there with Peters, Lupone, Lansbury and Stretch.

I was struck by how easy she made singing "The Boy From..." seem. I wish I'd seen her in something live, not just Alice reruns.

"She is up there with Peters, Lupone, Lansbury"
Each who won rave reviews for their portrayal of 'Mama Rose' in GYPSY (the latter two winning a Tony) while Lavin did not. Her performance was panned.

I saw her in " The New Century." She was very good, but not as memorable as Mike Doyle's penis.

R2 , did you ever see Wendie Jo Sperber attempt that song?
It was a train wreck.
