What in the hell is wrong with the Canadian "justice" system?
Man savagely beats a 17 year old boy in the head with a metal baseball bat, just for stepping on to his property.
The boy sustains severe brain damage, and needs 24 hour care.
10 years later, the man is still not in jail, and even though the family of the boy won a civil suit against him, the man escaped having to pay because he "sold" his largest asset (a home) to his parents for $1, thereby getting out of having to pay the victim's family.
I'm enraged by this story.

OP, did Adrian Dittman recommend that you spread that gospel? Any injustices in Greenland or Panama?

The state of Florida exists for literally no other purpose than for a man like this to shelter his wealth. Sounds like a Republican to me.

R1 must have written something about Florida. This happened in Canada.

No the point is that there's nothing specifically Canadian about this. This kind of shit happens in America all the time.

He beat him for trespassing?

R1/R4 you seem very defensive about this.
Are you actually defending this animal for beating a 17 year old kid with a bat, and getting away with it?

Hon, if you want to get your goose feather ruffled over Canadian justice, take a look at Karla Homolka.

There is no shortage or Americans getting away with horrendous things, so what is the need to go scouring the world's headlines for such stories, unless it's for a particular reason?

Not everything is a "conspiracy theory," QAnon at R8.
Perhaps the story just pops up on a YouTube feed.

I have to roll my eyes though, at the mom's explanation of him merely stepping foot on the property and the guy just attacking as soon as his foot touched the grass. That kid looked like a little pain in the ass, like most teens with that douchey haircut, so why try to downplay it so much? It comes off as insincere and it doesn't need to be. Say the kid even went in his house, I think one hit with the bat would be enough. Him and his friends were probably egging the guy's house or something. Otherwise, why mention his friends too, and all of them getting separated? Something is missing. Meanwhile, if you refuse to wax Jonathan Yaniv's balls, you'll be thrown in jail. It's quite a country.

I was coming on here to mention Karla Homolka and the guy who beheaded and ate someone on a bus!! Remember that? That guy is out in public!

Wow R12, that's quite the fact-free screed you wrote there. How many kopeks is that worth?

The Canadian justice system, like many other public services in Canada, doesn't really work.
Cases take years before they see the inside of a court room, many times being thrown out because of the delay.
There is almost zero enforcement for financial crimes. It took the US government to throw the book at TD despite it being the number 2 bank in Canada, for example.
Government run casinos are essentially money laundering operations for Chinese criminals and nothing gets done. I could go on.
