Nvidia announces $3,000 personal AI supercomputer called Digits
“If you were looking for your own personal AI supercomputer, Nvidia has you covered.
The chipmaker announced at CES it’s launching a personal AI supercomputer called Project Digits in May. The heart of Project Digits is the new GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip, which packs enough processing power to run sophisticated AI models while being compact enough to fit on a desk and run from a standard power outlet…
Users will also get access to Nvidia’s AI software library, including development kits, orchestration tools, and pre-trained models available through the Nvidia NGC catalog. “

Honestly, though, this is like buying a betamax VCR at best. It's a solution looking for a problem until we have more utile use cases for AI beyond LLMs. This is a cash grab.

They still have to QA the code, r4. It just writes it faster. And by the time there's better uses for this machine, it will be seen as slow and absolute. This is for people who want a big e-peen.

Perhaps Jensen Huang can get Digits to tell him what is "fashion appropriate" for a small 61 year-old man.
