and?

by Anonymousreply 1January 7, 2025 4:57 AM

I MUST HAZ CHEESEBURGER who care if some loser dead.

by Anonymousreply 2January 7, 2025 4:58 AM

What Dr. Birx suggest we do?

by Anonymousreply 3January 7, 2025 5:10 AM

I don't drink milk so I think I'm safe. But is this shit getting in the meat of cows, pigs and chickens too? I need my DL scientists!

by Anonymousreply 4January 7, 2025 5:19 AM

Oseltamivir (Tamiflu) works against Bird flu. Get your doses now before stocks deplete. Much of Tamiflu has been destroyed because it was never used after being purchases in mass quantities by government health agencies.

by Anonymousreply 5January 7, 2025 5:24 AM

It's only when it starts going from person to person that it's "here we go again". People have been getting it directly from exposure to live birds for a while. This person just happens to have died because they had other medical conditions.

by Anonymousreply 6January 7, 2025 5:30 AM

Maybe, it will hit the deplorable crowd.

by Anonymousreply 7January 7, 2025 5:43 AM

Don't worry, RFK Jr. will protect us.

by Anonymousreply 8January 7, 2025 6:04 AM

Again, this is bs. It’s been explained on here a million times. Quit falling for clickbait.

by Anonymousreply 9January 7, 2025 6:12 AM

It's not clickbait, but it doesn't warrant a great deal of concern yet either. No human-to-human transmission so I don't think it's a big deal at this point. If it mutates to become human-to-human goes to reproduction rate R of above 1, then we can worry.

by Anonymousreply 10January 7, 2025 6:17 PM

R5: Is Tamiflu available otc? If not, what is a good substitute?

TIA

by Anonymousreply 11January 7, 2025 6:26 PM

r10 it has already driven the price of eggs up, which Trump will blame on Biden,

by Anonymousreply 12January 7, 2025 6:28 PM

R12 - and? I agree about eggs and Trump, but we're talking about getting the flu.

by Anonymousreply 13January 7, 2025 8:06 PM

Thank God the incoming administration is staffed by qualified people who'll know how to deal with an epidemic.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

[quote]Thank God the incoming administration is staffed by qualified people who'll know how to deal with an epidemic.

You know that if a full pandemic of bird flu happens while cheeto is president, the conspiracy nutbags will go crazy claiming it was done to hamper his presidency, just like covid was secretly done during his first term.

There is a reason why there is a disproportionate number of conspiracy theory wingnuts who are also magats.

by Anonymousreply 15January 7, 2025 9:14 PM

Don’t be surprised if another pandemic happens, R15. It’s actually one of my primary concerns. I lived in the south when Covid hit, and had I not been able to place hypothetical outcomes with the little tiny bits of data we had available of the time, I myself may have been victim to the first round, especially because no one around me believed this was real, or that they too were vulnerable, and indeed, several people I knew died in the advent of it hitting the east coast.

It’s imperative to not become paranoid, but to keep an eye on world health trends that aren’t yet at our shores, because that’s what smart people do. They look at situations and analyze if infectious disease are trending and then get real data in order to understand if you are eventually vulnerable.

The GOP under Trump are absolutely liars, and are not here to help or protect Americans, regardless of which ones voted for or against them. Remember that this is fact as it already happened once before, and respond accordingly with preventative measures, whenever possible.

It's going to go away... it is going away.

[quote]Don’t be surprised if another pandemic happens, [R15].

If a pandemic happens, it'll be a direct result of poor public health policy, not a liberal plot to torpedo his presidency (as many magat loons have claimed about covid).

Frankly, I won't be surprised because cheeto and his entire administrationa are anti-science, or rather only interested in science that pushes their own agenda.

by Anonymousreply 18January 8, 2025 1:31 AM

Well, how would we know? They’re going to fire all the experts so who would be collecting the data? I can see a pandemic happening again under Trump where they completely gaslight us - and their friends in the media would be more than happy to not report on it.

We’d just be left to bury the dead.

by Anonymousreply 19January 8, 2025 5:47 AM

[quote]The patient was over 65 and had underlying medical conditions.

That’s all. Probably something wrong with their immune system.

by Anonymousreply 20January 8, 2025 7:03 AM

r13 because the egg price is blamed on the bird flu outbreak and now one confined human death from it. There is also another outbreak of "something" going on in China that has been on WHO's radar. Trump will of course say it all happened on Biden's watch, blame China again...I get a feeling we are in for a hell of a ride if another pandemic comes.

by Anonymousreply 21January 8, 2025 5:14 PM

Just follow my raw-milk diet and you'll be fine!

by Anonymousreply 22January 8, 2025 5:17 PM

RFK may not have a smooth path to the position:
