Have any DL posters had a heart attack?

What’s that like-I’m a good candidate.

Heart attacks vary....a lot. They can be relatively mild (mine) or pretty intense.

They're seldom how they're traditionally presented on TV or film with a lot of ham acting, grimacing, and chest clutching.

They ask you in ER about the level of your chest pressure. Many people say it's like an elephant sitting on their chest.

Mine was more like a really large cat. Not painful really but a squashed feeling.

First of all listen to your body.

I was on my way to use the treadmill and I felt weird and had shortness of breath. It's like I could not take deep breaths. This had happened to me in the past and usually lasted a few minutes. This time, though, I started throwing up which was weird because I hadn't eaten anything in hours. When I still couldn't breath normally after about 10 minutes I drove to the E.R. told them of the pains, which went across my chest but not to uncomfortable, I was taken immediately to a room where I was told I was having a heart attack and I was given meds and a stent was inserted. It all happen within an hour and the doctors explained the while things as I was conscious the whole time.

After the stent I felt almost normal! It happened on a Friday night and I was back to work on Monday, was in the hospital the weekend.

The doctor's told me I was lucky I came when I did and that if I had gone on the treadmill I would have died.

Listen to your body. Shortness of breath, a pressure on your chest and throwing up are signs to look out for. Good luck.

R4 That's not how stents work. It's not done in the ER.

That's how it worked at Stone Crest in Smyrna TN, if you got an issue take it up with them. I went in through the E.R.. they did their thing somewhere, now shut it.

R5, was your stent experience different? Why don't you share? If you didn't understand my story, just ask for more details. Please don't derail the thread.

God, we're getting old girls. What a bittersweet thing. We weren't doing that for a while.
