Christopher Hewitt, Mr. Belvedere

Also played the SUPER queeny Roger de Bris in [italic]The Producers[/italic], among other things. His wikipedia bio says he was "A devout Catholic and lifelong bachelor". What's the real story?

Huge pussy lover - couldn't get enough. Insatiable. He just didn't want to be tied down to one woman with so many hot and desirable women around.

I get it.

Obviously he went to his grave just never having found the perfect woman for him.

It makes me so frustrated. I'm here for the taking! Lifelong bachelors, don't be shy!

I met him in London a few times. I endeared myself to him by recognizing him as the original Roger DeBris. During our discussion of musical theatre, it came out that he was searching for a copy of the LP of a show he he had done in New York in the 60s. I told him I had it on CD (a friend remastered the album) and would make a copy for him, complete with full-color artwork. Thereafter I became a "dear boy" to him. He was a very amusing man -full of funny stories. I really cried when he died, but I was glad I got to know him.

R5, yours is one of my favorite posts on DL during the last year.

That's really lovely, R5. Thanks for sharing that.

"A devout Catholic and lifelong bachelor"...well, there you have it.

by Anonymousreply 8January 7, 2025 11:17 AM

He was saving himself for Our Savior. In death marriage. Jesus takes on all comers.

Now I am definitely going to hell. I was raised a good Catholic boy. Jesus will not be pleased.
