The title is utterly incorrect. It should read "A very young Leslie Jordan trying to get a hot young guy to register with Selective Service."

You see, the military was suffering a great deal by the late 1970s and early 1980s due to not having any wars to fight, budget cuts, and a general public distaste for the military, esp. after Vietnam. Despite smaller ranks, recruitment wasn't meeting goals. Selective Service was the euphemism chosen for the new draft. It would take a lot of propagandizing and soldier bribing during Operation Desert Storm, et. al. to get America back in an Army mood.
