Here!
by Anonymous | reply 2 | January 6, 2025 3:21 AM |
If I had had the botox concession, I would be richer than President Musk.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | January 6, 2025 3:21 AM |
Fuck that bitch trying to sue Netflux for Baby Reindeer.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | January 6, 2025 3:23 AM |
Everything about Ali Wong irritates the shit out of me.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | January 6, 2025 3:23 AM |
Is Akwafina still a thing?
by Anonymous | reply 6 | January 6, 2025 3:25 AM |
R5 why?
by Anonymous | reply 7 | January 6, 2025 3:25 AM |
Melissa, I'll ask again this year - are you on Ozempic ?
by Anonymous | reply 8 | January 6, 2025 3:27 AM |
❤️🙏🏼PRAYING FOR TIMMY 🙏🏼❤️
by Anonymous | reply 9 | January 6, 2025 3:27 AM |
Dax Shepherd looks awful.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | January 6, 2025 3:27 AM |
Same here R5.
That was totally a Woke win.
She's not funny at all.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | January 6, 2025 3:28 AM |
Why do I find almost every current celebrity annoying? Is it age, social media, or just the world being such a dumpster that this shit seems so indulgent and silly?
by Anonymous | reply 12 | January 6, 2025 3:28 AM |
Melissa's face looks fabulous.
The pink is nice too.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | January 6, 2025 3:28 AM |
Death Watch - Elton John.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | January 6, 2025 3:29 AM |
Can I just repeat my culinary outrage from the previous thread?
[quote]r577 Did I tell you all I went to WICKED author Gregory Maguire’s house for lunch in Concord… and he gave me cheap deli leftovers in plastic containers? It was a let down.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | January 6, 2025 3:29 AM |
I've never watched Murders in the Building because Steve Martin was SO overhyped during the 70s. Still hasn't worn off.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | January 6, 2025 3:29 AM |
Nothing is more played out than complaining anything you don't like is "woke" r11. I thought we left that in 2024.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | January 6, 2025 3:30 AM |
A second look at Jean Smart's unflattering matronly gown.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | January 6, 2025 3:30 AM |
Wow, R16, you really hold a grudge.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | January 6, 2025 3:30 AM |
"Since language was created, we have all been telling stories..."
So profound.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | January 6, 2025 3:31 AM |
I guess ABBOTT ELEMENTARY had its day of recognition in Season One.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | January 6, 2025 3:31 AM |
[quote] Death Watch - Elton John.
*crossing fingers!*
by Anonymous | reply 22 | January 6, 2025 3:31 AM |
Kate Winslet looks great, you don't need to be bedecked and bejeweled to look lovely.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | January 6, 2025 3:32 AM |
r17, no one appointed you the Language Police.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | January 6, 2025 3:32 AM |
Like most sitcoms you get diminishing returns over time r21. It's hard to keep it fresh.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | January 6, 2025 3:32 AM |
Glen Powell is going home empty handed. I'm good.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | January 6, 2025 3:32 AM |
That’s all sitcoms
by Anonymous | reply 27 | January 6, 2025 3:33 AM |
I love Ali Wong
by Anonymous | reply 28 | January 6, 2025 3:33 AM |
Nicholas Chavez is on drugs.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | January 6, 2025 3:33 AM |
I want Paul W. Downs inside me quite as deeply as he can go.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | January 6, 2025 3:34 AM |
Wasn’t “Glenn Powell” a politician in the Reagan Era??
by Anonymous | reply 31 | January 6, 2025 3:35 AM |
r30 Yes, he is gorgeous
by Anonymous | reply 32 | January 6, 2025 3:35 AM |
R25 or maybe the entire category was competitive. Shows can be good and other good shows come along.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | January 6, 2025 3:35 AM |
Wait til you learn how many people in the entertainment industry do coke r29.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | January 6, 2025 3:36 AM |
R19 That's right , I never forget pain.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | January 6, 2025 3:37 AM |
Salma Hayek Pinot. Ouch.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | January 6, 2025 3:37 AM |
Salma Hayek IS Donatella Versaci!
by Anonymous | reply 37 | January 6, 2025 3:37 AM |
Salma's sounding a bit butch.
I wanna see her side-eye Nicole after that fashion show debacle.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | January 6, 2025 3:38 AM |
Bates ripped her speech up! lol
by Anonymous | reply 40 | January 6, 2025 3:39 AM |
DEI in full effect tonight!
Orientals winning all over the place!
All for shit nobody watches.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | January 6, 2025 3:39 AM |
When did Salma swallow a frog?
by Anonymous | reply 42 | January 6, 2025 3:39 AM |
Salma probably owns those ridiculously oversized emeralds she's wearing since she's married to a billionaire.
Only royalty should wear jewels of that size.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | January 6, 2025 3:39 AM |
I don't see that much wrong with reading stuff off your phone. Would it be better if you had stuff written down on a little piece of paper? Probably, I guess.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | January 6, 2025 3:40 AM |
Insane that Kathy Bates and the Shogun lady are in the same category!!
by Anonymous | reply 45 | January 6, 2025 3:40 AM |
HA!
Even the winner knew she didn't deserve the award.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | January 6, 2025 3:40 AM |
Orientals? Lawd did that cunt wake up from a 40 year coma.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | January 6, 2025 3:40 AM |
I miss the good old days of movie theaters, the three networks, PBS, HBO and Blockbuster for our movie viewing needs. Most people cannot afford 20 streaming subscriptions to see not only theatrical releases, but television series as well.
Sad, but I won't see the majority of tonight's offerings; I cannot be alone in that.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | January 6, 2025 3:40 AM |
[quote]Orientals winning all over the place!
What were the rugs nominated for, precious?
by Anonymous | reply 49 | January 6, 2025 3:40 AM |
[quote] DEI in full effect tonight! Orientals winning all over the place!
You sound popular.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | January 6, 2025 3:40 AM |
I thought Kiera Knightly was worthy.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | January 6, 2025 3:40 AM |
R41 - I was gonna ask - was anyone glued to Hulu to watch Shogun?
Hell - I remember the original with Richard Chamberlain in 1980.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | January 6, 2025 3:40 AM |
Lots of people watched Shogun asswipe R41.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | January 6, 2025 3:40 AM |
Did all the SHOGUN actors threaten voters with goddamn samurai swords??
by Anonymous | reply 54 | January 6, 2025 3:40 AM |
Salma has a beautiful gown and a great figure but her makeup and hairstyle are awful. She's married to a billionaire. She can't skimp on those things.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | January 6, 2025 3:40 AM |
[quote] Only royalty should wear jewels of that size.
And what did royalty do to deserve wearing jewels that size, other than inherit them, R43?
by Anonymous | reply 56 | January 6, 2025 3:41 AM |
I'm getting a bit tired of Zoe Saldana.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | January 6, 2025 3:41 AM |
Zoe looks nice and elegant. All natural hair too.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | January 6, 2025 3:41 AM |
Shogun was a big hit and made FX change it from a limited series to an ongoing drama.
It's not our fault you are out of touch.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | January 6, 2025 3:41 AM |
The Golden Wokes.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | January 6, 2025 3:41 AM |
I’m referring to Zoe Kravitz that is.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | January 6, 2025 3:41 AM |
R52 Not my cup of tea.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | January 6, 2025 3:42 AM |
For r41
by Anonymous | reply 63 | January 6, 2025 3:42 AM |
Ariana looks sick. Like, I feel like someone should say something.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | January 6, 2025 3:42 AM |
R48 misses the days of horse and buggy, ice chests and dying from polio.
🙄
by Anonymous | reply 65 | January 6, 2025 3:42 AM |
R59 right. It’s one of the most popular shows on television right now. I’m so sick of these racists coming on here lying.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | January 6, 2025 3:42 AM |
That Golden Globes best supporting actor winner is STILL bowing to everyone!
by Anonymous | reply 68 | January 6, 2025 3:42 AM |
DL FAVE VIOLA DAVIS coming up!!!!!!
by Anonymous | reply 69 | January 6, 2025 3:43 AM |
Nice tight speech from the Shogun cutie.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | January 6, 2025 3:43 AM |
The bangs (on Michelle Yeoh) look wrong, right?
by Anonymous | reply 71 | January 6, 2025 3:43 AM |
I'm confused about Penguin being a limited series. I haven't watched it yet, but was it intended to end or was it just canceled?
by Anonymous | reply 72 | January 6, 2025 3:43 AM |
[quote]Dax Shepherd looks awful.
He always does.
by Anonymous | reply 73 | January 6, 2025 3:44 AM |
And WHAT exactly does Davis deserve an honorary award for--surviving being poor as a child? I'm sure she'll tell us.
by Anonymous | reply 74 | January 6, 2025 3:45 AM |
Something tells me Hollywood isn't ready to give up woke just yet.
by Anonymous | reply 75 | January 6, 2025 3:45 AM |
Dax Shepherd is unattractive and talentless.
by Anonymous | reply 76 | January 6, 2025 3:45 AM |
R74 she constantly has been soaked in urine!
by Anonymous | reply 77 | January 6, 2025 3:46 AM |
We must be nearing the end. How many more disappointments must I endure?
by Anonymous | reply 78 | January 6, 2025 3:46 AM |
R67 Michelle looked better on stage than in that pic.
by Anonymous | reply 79 | January 6, 2025 3:46 AM |
[quote] And what did royalty do to deserve wearing jewels that size, other than inherit them, [R43]?
Oh... you mean, as opposed to Salma Hayek, who "deserves" wearing them because she spread her legs for a billionaire?
by Anonymous | reply 80 | January 6, 2025 3:47 AM |
[quote] Glen Powell is going home empty handed.
Hardly… he’s going to grab that tall presenter aide’s BBC and take it home for a ride.
by Anonymous | reply 81 | January 6, 2025 3:47 AM |
I think Dax Shepard is cute.
by Anonymous | reply 82 | January 6, 2025 3:47 AM |
Michelle's bangs make her look like Moe from the Three Stooges
by Anonymous | reply 83 | January 6, 2025 3:47 AM |
R47 - R41 is yet another example of the growing xenophobia on the DL since 5th November.
There's a certain type of poster who is now comfortable posting racist stuff which wouldn't previously have been acceptable.
by Anonymous | reply 84 | January 6, 2025 3:48 AM |
Dax looks special
by Anonymous | reply 86 | January 6, 2025 3:48 AM |
R34 we know many do. That doesn’t make it ok.
by Anonymous | reply 87 | January 6, 2025 3:48 AM |
[italic]No one cares that I was served old deli leftovers in pastoral Concord by the multimillionaire author of WICKED!
Is this a gay board or NOT ? ! ?
by Anonymous | reply 88 | January 6, 2025 3:48 AM |
At least she fucked someone for them, R80. And what did royalty do? Go fuck yourself.
by Anonymous | reply 89 | January 6, 2025 3:48 AM |
ugh fuck we have to hear smug cunt Viola Davis
by Anonymous | reply 90 | January 6, 2025 3:49 AM |
R73 😂
by Anonymous | reply 91 | January 6, 2025 3:50 AM |
Vio Violadanna.
by Anonymous | reply 92 | January 6, 2025 3:50 AM |
R81 Never heard gay rumors about him. Are you fantasizing?
by Anonymous | reply 93 | January 6, 2025 3:50 AM |
I just love Kate Winslet and how she presents herself.
by Anonymous | reply 94 | January 6, 2025 3:50 AM |
Something tells me twits like R75 aren't going to give up whining about "woke" anytime soon.
by Anonymous | reply 95 | January 6, 2025 3:50 AM |
Viola swapped out her ratty wig from the other night for a new one! She must have called Diana Ross.
by Anonymous | reply 96 | January 6, 2025 3:50 AM |
'24 wasn't the best year for movies. Rather a yawn.
by Anonymous | reply 97 | January 6, 2025 3:50 AM |
Violas on 🍿
by Anonymous | reply 98 | January 6, 2025 3:50 AM |
Oh, lord.
Here we go.
THE DRAMA!!!
by Anonymous | reply 99 | January 6, 2025 3:50 AM |
Viola looks like she has had some bad work done on her face.
by Anonymous | reply 100 | January 6, 2025 3:50 AM |
This award is all about ME!!!
by Anonymous | reply 101 | January 6, 2025 3:51 AM |
JFC, every time Viola opens her mouth, she sounds like she's in a therapy session playing both the counselor and the patient.
by Anonymous | reply 102 | January 6, 2025 3:51 AM |
Oh….. this is a Diane Ross vibe!
by Anonymous | reply 103 | January 6, 2025 3:51 AM |
Did they make up a category so wicked could win something?
by Anonymous | reply 104 | January 6, 2025 3:51 AM |
Viola looks fabulous.
by Anonymous | reply 105 | January 6, 2025 3:51 AM |
WHO?! Fernanda Torres??
by Anonymous | reply 106 | January 6, 2025 3:51 AM |
[quote] [R47] - [R41] is yet another example of the growing xenophobia on the DL since 5th November.
DL was already like that, before the election.
by Anonymous | reply 107 | January 6, 2025 3:51 AM |
Who? What? I'm out of touch.
by Anonymous | reply 108 | January 6, 2025 3:52 AM |
Viola does look great. Skin is glistening. Makeup is nice. Looking youthful. Chocolate beauty.
by Anonymous | reply 109 | January 6, 2025 3:52 AM |
I was rooting for Pamela, oh well.
by Anonymous | reply 110 | January 6, 2025 3:52 AM |
Viola is desperate to look cool, but she looks like a joke.
by Anonymous | reply 111 | January 6, 2025 3:52 AM |
How humiliating when the winner has such a long walk to the stage.
by Anonymous | reply 112 | January 6, 2025 3:52 AM |
Kate Hudson had a necklace with a huge sapphire.
by Anonymous | reply 113 | January 6, 2025 3:52 AM |
Not much table-side applause for Viola Davis's entrance and presentation.
by Anonymous | reply 114 | January 6, 2025 3:52 AM |
I think Viola looks great
by Anonymous | reply 115 | January 6, 2025 3:52 AM |
Viola’s chest is glowing beautifully -
by Anonymous | reply 116 | January 6, 2025 3:52 AM |
Fernanda Torres has a great dress.
by Anonymous | reply 117 | January 6, 2025 3:52 AM |
I thought Meryl presented this award to Viola last night. Why are they bringing Viola out again?
by Anonymous | reply 118 | January 6, 2025 3:52 AM |
R504. - they had this category before. Barbie won it last year. Top Gun the year before I think.
by Anonymous | reply 119 | January 6, 2025 3:53 AM |
R115 is Viola's husband
by Anonymous | reply 120 | January 6, 2025 3:53 AM |
That's fair Fernanda - the others have won so much already - except Pamela. And did we really think Pamela was going to win?
by Anonymous | reply 121 | January 6, 2025 3:53 AM |
VIOLA DAVIS FAVE VIOLA DAVIS coming up!!!!!!
There R69. Fixed that for you.
by Anonymous | reply 122 | January 6, 2025 3:53 AM |
R104, I mean
by Anonymous | reply 123 | January 6, 2025 3:53 AM |
Uh, it’s almost 11 years n the east coast. Move it along toots:
by Anonymous | reply 124 | January 6, 2025 3:54 AM |
This foreign lady is smoothly gracious… who ever she is.
by Anonymous | reply 125 | January 6, 2025 3:54 AM |
Edgar looks like a douche with that hairstyle.
by Anonymous | reply 126 | January 6, 2025 3:54 AM |
Upcoming film Snow White. That film will be forever in purgatory thanks to that little no-talent Zegler and her huge mouth.
by Anonymous | reply 127 | January 6, 2025 3:54 AM |
They give VIOLA DAVIS center stage for her award presentation and everyone else gets the awkward closeup shot?
by Anonymous | reply 128 | January 6, 2025 3:55 AM |
TIMMMMMYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
by Anonymous | reply 129 | January 6, 2025 3:55 AM |
I think Adrian Brody is sexy.
by Anonymous | reply 130 | January 6, 2025 3:55 AM |
I said it.
by Anonymous | reply 131 | January 6, 2025 3:55 AM |
HAHAHAHA Chalamet LOST!
by Anonymous | reply 132 | January 6, 2025 3:55 AM |
Gal Gadot's bizarre stomach pearls signal support to hernia sufferers everywhere.
by Anonymous | reply 133 | January 6, 2025 3:55 AM |
Is Harvey watching from prison as his ex-wife kisses Brody for his win?
by Anonymous | reply 134 | January 6, 2025 3:55 AM |
R129: I can go to bed now.
by Anonymous | reply 135 | January 6, 2025 3:55 AM |
SUCK IT, Timmee and her stans.
by Anonymous | reply 136 | January 6, 2025 3:55 AM |
Aww. Lil Ratboy lost. Came in last in the voting, I hear.
by Anonymous | reply 137 | January 6, 2025 3:56 AM |
Gal Gadot - she's pretty, but she just doesn't do anything for me.
R124 - it's 7:54 here - and we get a repeat at 8. Started at 5pm here.
That's a nice thing about being West Coast. We get live stuff live - and then it's repeated for a 2nd time later on during primetime.
by Anonymous | reply 138 | January 6, 2025 3:56 AM |
Timothee was NOT happy his name was not called!
by Anonymous | reply 139 | January 6, 2025 3:56 AM |
Meh.
by Anonymous | reply 140 | January 6, 2025 3:56 AM |
I swear, every time Viola Davis is on stage either presenting or accepting an award she always has to say 'I'm in awe...' It's tiresome now.
by Anonymous | reply 141 | January 6, 2025 3:56 AM |
Where's Halle when you need her? Get off the stage you blowhard.
by Anonymous | reply 142 | January 6, 2025 3:56 AM |
Glad Chalamet didn't get it. He needs to get over himself.
by Anonymous | reply 143 | January 6, 2025 3:56 AM |
[Quote] Is Akwafina still a thing?
only in convienence stores
by Anonymous | reply 144 | January 6, 2025 3:56 AM |
Yesss. So glad he won.
by Anonymous | reply 145 | January 6, 2025 3:56 AM |
That's the ugliest nose I've ever seen.
by Anonymous | reply 146 | January 6, 2025 3:57 AM |
My pussy stinks! 😷
by Anonymous | reply 147 | January 6, 2025 3:57 AM |
Yay Adrien!
by Anonymous | reply 148 | January 6, 2025 3:57 AM |
The roving camera during the speech is a choice.
by Anonymous | reply 149 | January 6, 2025 3:57 AM |
Wow. Just one measly acting win for a Brit this year. They used to win half the awards at the Golden Globes.
by Anonymous | reply 150 | January 6, 2025 3:57 AM |
The Timmy haters are so pathetically sad.
How empty your lives must be.
by Anonymous | reply 151 | January 6, 2025 3:57 AM |
They're going for movie subject rather than best actor performance. You're dead to me, Golden Globes. Fraud!
by Anonymous | reply 152 | January 6, 2025 3:57 AM |
R141 Viola is phony baloney cunt. I still remember when she did that awful pretentious tribute after Leslie Jordan died.
by Anonymous | reply 153 | January 6, 2025 3:57 AM |
Much more prevalent now, R107, unfortunately.
by Anonymous | reply 154 | January 6, 2025 3:57 AM |
R141 because, like that other insufferable Negress Cheryl Lee Ralph, she thinks even her award presentation speeches will win awards.
by Anonymous | reply 155 | January 6, 2025 3:58 AM |
He messed up Domingo’s name lol.
by Anonymous | reply 156 | January 6, 2025 3:58 AM |
He would be a handsome guy if he had that nose fixed.
by Anonymous | reply 157 | January 6, 2025 3:58 AM |
Do they all call him “Timmy” now?!
His stans will not stand for that!
by Anonymous | reply 158 | January 6, 2025 3:58 AM |
Adrien Brody is smoldering.
by Anonymous | reply 159 | January 6, 2025 3:58 AM |
So much for awards show buzz to help ACU at the box office. Now it’s going to sink during the January doldrums.
by Anonymous | reply 160 | January 6, 2025 3:58 AM |
R155 🛑. Criticize them but don’t use the word negress again.
by Anonymous | reply 161 | January 6, 2025 3:59 AM |
wtf is brody wearing? a brooch?
by Anonymous | reply 162 | January 6, 2025 3:59 AM |
He does go on.
by Anonymous | reply 163 | January 6, 2025 3:59 AM |
Get the fuck off the stage. He and Viola think a mic in their face is a therapy session.
by Anonymous | reply 164 | January 6, 2025 3:59 AM |
Didn't Adrien already win for the Penist?
by Anonymous | reply 165 | January 6, 2025 3:59 AM |
Angelina should have won for her brilliant performance in 'Maria.'
by Anonymous | reply 166 | January 6, 2025 3:59 AM |
Timothy has had a massive year with big box office - not winning is no shame.
I doubt Adrien will get the Oscar - he already has one and he ruined his reputation by being an asshole.
by Anonymous | reply 167 | January 6, 2025 3:59 AM |
About a hundred years ago, R165.
by Anonymous | reply 168 | January 6, 2025 4:00 AM |
We're supposed to feel sorry for him that he won before and thought he would never win again???
Movie stars are the most ridiculously self-pitying people ever.
by Anonymous | reply 169 | January 6, 2025 4:00 AM |
Did they give Nikki Glaser the boot? I am on hour three and she has not show up for an hour.
by Anonymous | reply 170 | January 6, 2025 4:00 AM |
There's nothing worse than an acting speech with tears included.
by Anonymous | reply 171 | January 6, 2025 4:00 AM |
So, do we think this will mean Erivo and Chalamet lost the Oscar tonight, too?
by Anonymous | reply 172 | January 6, 2025 4:00 AM |
R165 Hi Colin Farrell
by Anonymous | reply 173 | January 6, 2025 4:00 AM |
R166=Anjie.
by Anonymous | reply 174 | January 6, 2025 4:00 AM |
R161 is the poster who used the nonexistent word "sike" in a recent thread.
Shut up.
by Anonymous | reply 175 | January 6, 2025 4:01 AM |
Adrien Brody could inhale Peru with that nose.
by Anonymous | reply 176 | January 6, 2025 4:01 AM |
Nikki's changing into her 7th gown as I type.
by Anonymous | reply 177 | January 6, 2025 4:01 AM |
[quote] Angelina should have won for her brilliant performance in 'Maria.'
No. It was only a decent performance in a weak movie.
by Anonymous | reply 178 | January 6, 2025 4:01 AM |
Why does Jeremy Strong look like a Curious George character??
by Anonymous | reply 179 | January 6, 2025 4:01 AM |
Jolie high as a kite.
by Anonymous | reply 180 | January 6, 2025 4:01 AM |
r170 - she got sick midway through
by Anonymous | reply 181 | January 6, 2025 4:01 AM |
Adrian Brody suffers PTSD from the extreme weight loss he endured for his role in The Pianist. Perhaps he needs to stage an intervention for Grande and Erivo.

Cynthia never had a shot at the Oscar, if only because no one ever wins for Part I of a movie (when they have yet to see Part II). But her whining about the fans altering her poster earned her "Lily Gladstone annoying points."
Chalamet still has a good shot, although it's more like to go to Brody.

Melissa McCarthy swallowed her in that outfit and outshone her in the speaking ability as well. Zoe Kravitz was mumbly. Can you not annunciate this shit with confidence? I loved Nikki Glaser's little "Pope-ular" skit.
She actually has a great voice, especially considering that she's a comedienne.
The "Insane in the Penguaine" line was hilarious too.

The Best Actress Oscar is pretty much up for grabs this year. The actress who's been picking up all the critics' awards this year wasn't even nominated tonight (Marianne Jean Baptiste). And Fernanda Torres probably will not even be nominated by the Academy.
I think Demi may be this year's Jamie Lee Curtis---her campaign for the Oscar started tonight!

Demi couldn't do GI Jane now, either, R332.

That would be 1/12!
by Anonymous | reply 346 | January 6, 2025 5:12 AM |
R326 who would you pick then? Even with a globe win, I think Torres and critics darling Marianne Jean Baptiste are long shots at this point. Not enough voters will see their films. They are not giving it Erivo for part one. Besides Wicked is more a tech achievement than anything else. Mikey Madison, along with Tilda Swinton, might pick up some traction as award season presses on. But I’m still leaning towards Nicole or Angelina. Hell Adrien and Nicole might repeat their lead actor and actress Oscar wins from 21 years ago.

[quote]R318 I know it's easier said than done but shouldn't actors be able to get through announcing an awards category with a little stage presence?
I think it’s hard for some for 2 reasons.
1.) the jokes are rewritten up to the last minute, so sometimes they’re reading material they’ve never seen before off the teleprompter.
2.) some of them have no stage training or experience, and are therefore not confident public speakers. They’re just used to acting on a dark, secluded soundstage.

The only award show I enjoy is the Oscars. To this very day, The Godfather was the most worthy winner. Perfection. Everything and everyone came together, Coppola got lucky, it was meant to be. And the cherry on top was the music.
by Anonymous | reply 358 | January 6, 2025 5:22 AM |
Demi has begun the perfect Oscar campaign tonight. She needs to keep it simple and not go the Jamie Lee route to really get the voters of her generation behind her. Her speech was quite moving and thoughtful. She's had a long career. Was once the highest paid actress for a terrible choice of a film and quickly usurped by Roberts for My Best Friend's Wedding. But all this is such a great narrative that can get her into real contention she was not in before tonight. I'm rooting for her.

R350 - Striptease? That was the middle brow Showgirls.
Demi made a lot of bad stuff - popcorn like she said. I don't think anyone is going to be throwing scripts for Meryl or Glenn to Demi after this win. It's a one and done.

At this point I really think the Best Actor Oscar race is really just between three people -- Brody, Fiennes and Chalamet -- with the other two slots just basically being filler (and I say that with no disrespect intended towards Domingo, Stan and Craig, whomever the final two will be).
As for Best Actress, I really feel that's pretty wide open at this point, though agree with the poster above that Angelina is a long shot as "Maria" has little to no buzz.

I think Pam lost a lot of momentum to Demi/The Substance. Both films have similar themes and both actresses are fighting back against outdated “bimbo” narratives. In any other year, Pam would be a lock but The Last Showgirl just isn’t as flashy or fun as The Substance.

R389 - I mean...we're talking Pam Anderson of Baywatch and Barbed Wire fame.
For her - really the nomination is a massive step forward. She hasn't done much and was never a film star. I could see her getting some small stuff now. Her voice though - it's a bit too high and bubbly for a serious actress.

R395 has it right. Moore just pulled ahead on this narrative and has a much longer career to ride on.
by Anonymous | reply 401 | January 6, 2025 5:43 AM |
R395 Agreed. And the Academy are snobs to an extent; they don’t nominate fluke performances even when they deserve merit. Pamela Anderson has never garnered any critical acclaim. It’s the same reason they didn’t give JLo a nod for Hustlers, even though she deserved it.

For an awards night, even women with beautiful hair use extensions. Nothing is wrong with that.
by Anonymous | reply 407 | January 6, 2025 5:47 AM |
That’s why I cited them. Because they have absolutely beautiful hair. They don’t need weaves unless they have cut it and want a longer length. They have too much body. What would a weave do.

Only because the voters for the Golden Globes are FOREIGNERS.
Academy voters are American, and they will have a very different take on nominees and winners, with the exception of Adrien Brody, whose movie character is catnip for the Oscars.
The Hollywood Foreign Press was acting out, with their ridiculous winners.
No one knows who they are. No one will see these movies.
The HFP had an opportunity this year to award some BIG NAMES this year, and add star power to their awards show. There was so much legendary talent in that room tonight.

Has anyone seen The Brutalist?? I have, and it's shocking that it won Best Picture. Adrien Brody is good, but the script sucks! SPOILER ALERT Did you know there's a ridiculous, gratuitous male-on-male rape scene (Guy on Adrian), which comes out of nowhere and just feels... bizarre. A true head scratcher, in that it makes no sense other than to give Felicity Jones her one "big scene" where she confronts Guy Pearce... and the movie just fizzles after that. Not many people will be drawn to seeing a 3.5 hour movie (with previews and intermission it's really a 4 hour commitment)... and I doubt the Oscar voters will rally behind it as the word spreads.

[quote]The problem is that Demi is super skinny and had tons of plastic surgery. So she still is buying into the skinny thing.
Demi was able to have a career comeback at her age because she’s kept up her appearance during all those years when she wasn’t working.
She could have easily gone the Bridget Fonda route.

[quote] Golden Globes 2025 highlights: Nikki Glaser shows how to host an awards ceremony, 'Emilia Pérez' and 'The Brutalist' stake claim in Oscars race
The stage has been set for the Oscars race
Since it’s the first major awards show ahead of the Oscars, the actors who took home trophies came as a surprise to many. Zoe Saldaña, Kieran Culkin, Demi Moore, Fernanda Torres and Adrien Brody are all now frontrunners. They delivered emotional speeches — although Culkin’s prevailing emotion was humor.
There were a few snubs of note, as well. Angelina Jolie was expected to win Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture — Drama, but the trophy went to Fernanda Torres. The critical darling Anora was shut out entirely, and the ever-popular Wicked won one award for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement. The Wild Robot was expected to win Best Motion Picture — Animated but lost to the dialogue-free Latvian film Flow.
Nikki Glaser is a bona fide awards-hosting star
From her hilarious monologue to her series of impressive outfit changes, Nikki Glaser is earning rave reviews for her performance as the host of the ceremony.

Towards the end of this year's Globes, Andrew Garfield and Kerry Washington presented the Best Female Actor - Musical/Comedy Award, which Demi Moore took home in a historic win. While cinephiles were psyched that The Substance got it flowers, the internet exploded over the way the Spider-Man actor put on his glasses to read from the teleprompter.
Despite it getting late into the Golden Globes telecast, the internet blew up as a result of Garfield's glasses move. Thirsty tweets began showing up on X/Twitter, including some funny memes that were used to share how steamy they thought Garfield was in that moment.
Honestly, same. While wearing glasses isn't usually considered such a turn on, the way Andrew Garfield slipped them on and adjusted his necklace while presenting at the Golden Globes had people feeling some type of way. And smart money says the gif of him doing so is going to be circulating online for quite some time.
While the 41 year-old actor is getting tons of love for his tenure as Spider-Man, this glasses move might have temporarily eclipsed those talks. Another tweet about this moment was very plain about its language, reading:
[quote] that was the hottest thing i've ever seen (andrew garfield putting his glasses on)

Social media users were quick to pick up on the awkwardness in the room on Sunday night. “You can cut the tension between The Rock and Vin Diesel with a knife,” one user wrote.
“I thought some s*** was gonna pop off,” said another. “Tonight we got to see what the rock looks like when he’s fantasizing about tearing vin diesel in half,” added another user.
“You could literally see The Rock’s hatred towards Vin Diesel in that shot. Oh my gosh… Amazing haha.”

DEMI MOORE IS COMING FOR THAT OSCAR, PEOPLE!!
And I am here for it!!
She is a fucking icon! And I think a lot of people feel she was hard done by in the ‘90s. The Substance has revised her entire career - from posing nude and pregnant on the cover of Vanity Fair to the statement body horror of The Substance, people see she always took the risks, from the physical pain of G.I. Jane (which opened No. 1 at the box office) to being Hollywood’s highest paid actress, she paid her dues. And The Substance is the film of the year - grossing nearly $80M globally!
Demi is going to win.

Why don't you use the quote feature for R30, here at R 578. That way, some people might care what you said and give you a WW?

What if R578 was posting from a phone?

R577 That was me, Season 1 episode 1. Culkin, in an apparent effort to convey how "quirky cool" his character was, kept sitting on things - and nearly falling off things - in an unexpected way. I thought >> this guy is an idiot.
Didn't watch enough to confirm whether the character was also supposed to be an idiot.

R579 - when one hovers the cursor on the number, the entire post appears as a pop up. No need to quote, IMO. And thanks for your constructive input.

[quote] What if [R578] was posting from a phone? R580
quoted from my phone.

[quote] But she seems like a sweet kid. To look at it optimistically, she might just have been overprotected from the world following her early fame.
Huh? She's been through the wringer and back. She's seen more cocaine, anorexia, plastic surgery, than a 40-year-old.

R441 Richard Gadd is bi.

Moreover, r582, by using the r# style with the "hover/pop-up" another can read the entire quote IN CONTEXT.
It is completely STUPID and RUDE to have a disembodied quote without its original context OR LOCATION, resulting in the reader's scrolling, scrolling, scrolling to find the source.

For a good BAD example for r586, see r584.
Who is "she"? What preceded "But"? To quote the poster, "Huh?"

r567 to answer your question, the girl that blonde woman that Demi is talking to at the forefront is Elle Fanning, and the person sitting behind Kylie is Chalamet, whom she passed Kylie by to talk to after finishing her enthusiastic fawning over Elle.
To Kylie, she said a perfunctory "thank you" and continued her conversation with Elle.
I thought it was spectacular. Fuck the Kuntrashians.
by Anonymous | reply 588 | January 7, 2025 12:24 PM |
oops, I meant: "...answer your question, that blonde woman that Demi is talking to."
I realized she wasn't a girl anymore and only half-corrected my sentence.

Stop doing the quote posting please, it’s no good just isolating a phrase. Use the R# reference so we can see and find the post you’re responding to.

Demi Moore is acknowledging the other stars of A Complete Unknown, Elle Fanning and Monica Barbaro.
They’re all in the film industry. Kylie Jenner is just a hanger-on.

Gossip has it that Demi scorns the Kardashian/Jenner clan because one of them had a fling with Ashton while Demi was his wife. Who knows or cares?!

I'm glad Angelina Jolie didn't win anything. She only settled her divorce because Maria was a contender for awards season.
I hope the voters don't forget she alienated Brad from the kids, although I'm sure if Maria is nominated for several Oscars, Angelina will surely dump all the kids on Brad's doorstep with their luggage.

Off topic: I wonder why they named the film "Maria" and not the singer's nickname which was "La Callas"
by Anonymous | reply 594 | January 7, 2025 3:04 PM |
R594 Probably because the poorly educated wouldn't know how to pronounce it. La CaLLAS? La CALlas?
Maria's just easier.

R30 I want Paul W. Downs inside me quite as deeply as he can go.
R578 so roughly 6 inches, depending on the fat deposits around your butt hole.

It's funny how booked and busy the Fanning sisters are. They act all the time! And Dakota's only 30. They must be doing something right. I kind of like that.. actors who act and aren't most famous for their personal lives.
