That's why when making GOOD homemade corn soup, you use a hand blender, but first set aside some kernels so that you have a bit of texture, and then just a dash of cream, and garlic croutons, it's really great. It only takes 20-30 minutes to make too.

To be fair, in high school I worked for a nice restaurant in Austin and one of the favorite items on the menu was corn soup. It was essentially canned corn and half-and-half, sautéed with some sautéed onions and peppers.
