Watch out New Yorkers! Subway stabber with 87 prior arrests on the loose in NYC

He stabbed two people this week already! Only in NYC can you be arrested 87 times and still be set free.

A knife-wielding maniac with a history of mental illness and 87 prior arrests is wanted in connection with at least two stabbings in the subway this week, The Post has learned.

Cops searching for Jamar Banks were warned to use “extreme caution” when encountering him because he is believed to be armed with “a large knife,” according to a message sent to police officers and obtained by The Post.

Banks, 52, is known to frequent the No. 2 and No. 5 subway lines, authorities said in the message.

Murdoch NY Post links give clickdollars and SEO to people who love Trump and hate gays.

Let's wait until Sunny Hostin addresses this on 'The View' tomorrow morning. I'm certain she will say someone should buy him a sandwich and a bottle of water and his stabbing spree would end.

by Anonymousreply 5January 5, 2025 5:24 PM

He better not be gay and living in a bathhouse!

by Anonymousreply 6January 5, 2025 5:27 PM

We need to bring back the “3 strikes you’re out” for violent crimes specifically. It was used too harshly for low level drug possession and dealing, but the proverbial baby has been thrown out with the bath water.

by Anonymousreply 7January 5, 2025 5:27 PM

Winning elections is second to doing the correct thing. Progressives need to continue to condemn Penny and support this poor man with 87 arrests.

by Anonymousreply 8January 5, 2025 5:27 PM

Imagine how greasy Defacto’s phone screen is from all this weekend posting with the lube still oily on his fingertips

by Anonymousreply 9January 5, 2025 5:31 PM

Interesting (if true) that he takes the 2 and 5 and not the 1, 3, 4, or 6. Makes me think he’s got some sort of home base in the area of the Bronx served by those lines.

by Anonymousreply 10January 5, 2025 5:32 PM

[quote]We need to bring back the “3 strikes you’re out” for violent crimes specifically

That, and "stop and frisk".

And if you don't like it, tough shit.

by Anonymousreply 11January 5, 2025 5:35 PM

He's probably just a Michael Jackson impersonator, down on his luck, who needs better access to social services. NYC failed him. We must forgive him for his knife fetish - it's not his fault his main hobby is stabbing MTA workers in the subway. If he has better access to culturally specific and affirming hobbies and activities, maybe he would've channeled his creativity it something more positive. Actually systemic racism and exploitive capitalism is making him commit 87 crimes.

by Anonymousreply 12January 5, 2025 5:48 PM

I'll be sure to pass that on R3 meanwhile in the real world

It's been an especially violent few weeks in the subway system. This week alone, a man survived being shoved onto the tracks and fracturing his skull. The new year also started with three subway stabbings in two days. One of the victims was an MTA employee.

Has AOC commented yet?

by Anonymousreply 15January 5, 2025 6:09 PM

I suspect a fed up New Yorker will take matters into his own hands in the next few days and put Jamar out of our misery. As history shows, when local law enforcement fails to do their job, regular citizens will do it for them.

Daniel Penny to the rescue!

by Anonymousreply 17January 5, 2025 6:18 PM

I miss the days of shoot to kill. Life was simpler then.

by Anonymousreply 18January 5, 2025 6:21 PM

Daniel Penny is on the loose! Be safe, y’all!

by Anonymousreply 19January 5, 2025 6:22 PM

We can thank politicians for "No Bail, No Jail" law which allows perps to be on the streets instead of locked-up at Riker's Island.

by Anonymousreply 20January 5, 2025 6:25 PM

And if Trump makes some kind of move to stop this shit , what ever that might be, don’t be surprised if his popularity goes up even more.

by Anonymousreply 21January 5, 2025 6:27 PM

His popularity will grow for protecting citizens. The DA and City Council have pity on the thugs. Don't care about who elected them.

by Anonymousreply 22January 5, 2025 6:32 PM

R21 New Yorkers are tough motherfuckers. They have seen some shit. But they will only be pushed so far.. It is absurd that they can't feel safe riding the subway. Figure that shit out like yesterday. Trump will absolutely clean NYC up just so he can say it was a shithole before he came back to power and that he fixed NYC and that no one else could do it. And New Yorkers will cheer him. This is not rocket science.

by Anonymousreply 23January 5, 2025 6:35 PM

Yes, R15 'Tax the rich'

Funny, I don’t recall him doing that during his first administration.

One word: Bearspray.

by Anonymousreply 26January 5, 2025 7:37 PM

Meanwhile, Defacto’s Pittsburgh is so safe, the SWAT team only occasionally needs to be called in!

Yes, his own Pittsburgh has a much higher crime rate, but he NEEDS to come here and dwell on every crime that occurs in nyc ….

You can thank Soros for this shit. He backs these commie idiots running American cities into the ground.

by Anonymousreply 31January 5, 2025 7:53 PM

NYC needs another Rudy. Republicans need to be elected. They made major gains there in the last election. They will definitely be going back to Republican rule for governor.

by Anonymousreply 32January 5, 2025 7:55 PM

R29 I am kind of new here. Are we supposed to FF all interesting threads or just this one? .

by Anonymousreply 33January 5, 2025 7:56 PM

actually R25 it became the dystopian hell hole it currently is after Trump was Prresident

by Anonymousreply 35January 5, 2025 8:14 PM

Maybe the only hope the Dems have for 2028 is to pray the GOP fucks up things really badly or double down on stupid aka swing very progressive and go with AOC as the standard barer.

So far just based on the Dems response since the 3-0 aka 7-0 defeat in November they are fucked.

by Anonymousreply 36January 5, 2025 8:28 PM

Can't these people just be turned into Soylent Green?

by Anonymousreply 37January 5, 2025 8:48 PM

Will it count if the current mayor just switches his party allegiance to the GOP?

by Anonymousreply 42January 5, 2025 9:24 PM

Shoot the motherfucker in the head and be done with it.

by Anonymousreply 43January 5, 2025 9:36 PM

Maybe Jar-Jar Banks the subway slasher can move to the military base where Jumaane Williams and family reside.

by Anonymousreply 44January 5, 2025 9:38 PM

R44 Fuck off you insufferable cunt.

by Anonymousreply 45January 5, 2025 9:42 PM

by Anonymousreply 49January 5, 2025 10:09 PM

Being arrested means little. He has to have been convicted. If they have been petty crimes, those don’t mean add up to anything

You can’t hold someone in jail just because he’s been arrested a lot in the past

by Anonymousreply 50January 5, 2025 10:37 PM

R31 your a fool. Are you writing from jail? Sorros, a communist backer. Please just close your mouth before you reveal any more about your intellect.

by Anonymousreply 51January 6, 2025 12:19 AM

R41 I think they will within 24 hours.

by Anonymousreply 52January 6, 2025 12:39 AM

R24, a typical comment, which confirms why New Yorkers call her "All Out Crazy.":

by Anonymousreply 53January 6, 2025 12:51 AM

Paging Mr. Daniel Penny. Would Daniel Penny please ride the NewYork City Subway.

by Anonymousreply 54January 6, 2025 12:54 AM

In life there are those that protect and those that need protecting,

by Anonymousreply 55January 6, 2025 9:23 AM

And those that are batshit insane and stab people indiscriminately.

by Anonymousreply 56January 6, 2025 9:28 AM

Then there are those that go bat shit crazy when shortly after the election 4 trucks with trump signs drive thru weho. As if they were under attack and in danger.

No telling what they would have done if anyone from those trucks was an actual danger to anyone in weho and was stabbing people.

by Anonymousreply 57January 6, 2025 9:36 AM

- New Yorkers are having an unsettling start to 2025.

Several violent incidents in recent days, including on the subway, are deepening the sense that chaos and disorder are gripping the city and undermining public safety.

They helped make 2024 one of the most dangerous years on record for commuters, at a time when the biggest US city is still working to rebound fully from the pandemic. Office buildings have been drained of workers — vacancies stand near 20% - and weekday ridership on the city’s buses and subways are below pre-Covid levels. That’s a big concern for business leaders who say their workers are fearful.
