Movies come out constantly

Entertainment is ubiquitous—movies, songs, theatre, dance.

All the time, like a tsunami. There are no classic any more because the world can’t focus on one thing anymore.

Remember the time we all had lists of movies we wanted to see. There are just too many nowadays. They keep coming and coming. Hollywood wants your money and it wants it all.

As opposed to when only one movie came out each year and everyone had to see it.

Thank you, Ms. Fleming. Let us know when the shuttle lands.

I agree, OP. It's all too much. There are so many new movies available every week, if one doesn't capture your attention in the first five minutes, you just move on to another. I never thought I'd complain about too many choices...

So many streaming channels—each with movies and their own original programming. The vast vast majority is junk, just to fill your time.

Why are we so obsessed with being entertained constantly?

by Anonymousreply 4January 5, 2025 4:26 AM

R4 Good point. But are we obsessed with it or is it being pushed at us, making us lose focus?

I only saw five or six movies in the theater last year. And I don't feel like I missed out on anything. Movies just aren't as interesting as they used to be. So many of them are sequels or remakes or retreads. I just can't be bothered to set aside the time for one.

All of that. It's just too easy to stop doing anything productive and sit and watch TV for hours and hours.
