Mariah does it every year with her fucking Christmas song. Can you imagine what she rakes in from that just song alone?
I can't Believe Beyonce's horrific "country" song actually went to #1. And for two weeks!

Sad list.

Pretty lackluster year for music.

Mariah is a fucking embarrassment. She was once a legit singer and artist. Now she’s basically Mrs. Claus.

Megan Thee Stallion and "Hiss?"
I've never heard of that song. I went to #1?

I got tired of seeing that Shaboozey song at #1. It isn't even his own song. Just a country version of this one.

Mariah will have the longest running no.1 in American history (again) if she gets another 2 weeks in December. It's crazy how long some songs nowadays spend at poll position due to streaming, like that tedious Tipsy song.
I say, good for Mariah, milking the festive season. Ageist radio won't play any of the older artists anymore so any new music she has doesn't stand a chance, unless it's lightning in a bottle level.

R5 Yikes! Both versions suck.

Still can't believe that shitty Beyonce song was at #1 for two weeks.
I think I heard it on the radio maybe a handful of times, unlike that Sabrina Carpenter song that seems to have been playing every 10 minutes for the last six months.

I don’t listen to non-satellite radio much at all, so the Beyoncé song is the only one of these I know. (Other than the Christmas songs)
I guess I should try to listen to current music more…but why, when my 80s New Wave mixes are so great??

I'd be a little offended if I were Mariah. All those hundreds of millions of records sold and all those #1 hits throughout the years only for my legacy to be reduced to "The Christmas Lady." But I guess she's still making boatloads of money off it. She is to Christmas what Elvira is to Halloween.

True r10. For such a talented singer/songwriter it would be sad if that dumb Christmas song is the primary focus of her legacy.

What choice does Mariah have? Whether she pushed it or not, All I Want For Christmas Is You is a perennial hit thanks to streaming. She can either be left behind or embrace it.
Arguably this exposes some of her to a new audience, as her streaming numbers for her other hits keep rising.

Mariah saw an easy way to make money while doing the least amount of work. She’s the laziest woman in the industry.

No, R13, she's co-written and produced almost all of her own songs, as opposed to most stars who show up, sing, and get automatic credit.

R14 Yep, most of these singers take a finished song and then change 1 word in the lyrics so they can have songwriting credits. It's pretty sneaky.
