Child goes 'King Kong mode' in Costco, destroys multiple televisions

Another reason abortion must be legal.

The commentary was hilarious.

by Anonymousreply 1January 3, 2025 1:36 AM

By the commentator's accent, this must have happened in the Boston/NYC metro corridor.

by Anonymousreply 2January 3, 2025 1:41 AM

Arrest the parents...

by Anonymousreply 3January 3, 2025 1:48 AM

Note the demographic. I will bet a million dollars this is not the first time this kid has done this and the parents have gotten out of having any legal action taken against them to compensate the retailer by claiming both disability and racial discrimination. This is a child that will grow up to be unhinged and violent. I guess mama failed to have amosantisis and proper genetic counseling during her pregnancy. Too late now.

by Anonymousreply 4January 3, 2025 1:54 AM

Please don’t let him be…

by Anonymousreply 5January 3, 2025 2:01 AM

Yall realize the guy providing commentary is not actually there, right? This is some on-purpose racist shit.

Also op, is the abortion comment about autistic kids or black kids? Because in either case your comment is MORALLY DISGUSTING LAST-CENTURY EUGENICIST BULLSHIT.

by Anonymousreply 6January 3, 2025 2:31 AM

Nobody likes tards.

by Anonymousreply 7January 3, 2025 2:51 AM

r6 you hear the parent say he wants to speak to King Kong. I think the kid is special needs and calls these outbursts King Kong. Listen again r6. They say that in the video not just the narrator.

Where was this child parents. He may legit be special needs so I ain’t gon cunt yet. I swear the movie Us is coming to life. I blame long term covid.

R6. Mao, I thought you left forever on New year's Eve.

by Anonymousreply 15January 3, 2025 3:15 AM

These parents knew their kid had behavioral issues. They knew what his triggers were. Costco is a very over-simulating environment in terms of auditory and visual aspects. So the question is why did they did closely not monitor the child why did they bring him there in the first place? Kids with his level of behavioral issues never grow out of them and parents should act accordingly. This is the roulette wheel of having kids sometimes they're geniuses sometimes they're destructive morons. You have to manage them accordingly. This kid probably did 10 to 15 k damage to that store the parents should be held financially accountable and have their Costco membership canceled for life. Shame on the parents. It's a sucky situation for the kid the future for him is looking dim.

by Anonymousreply 16January 3, 2025 1:40 PM

R16: You can't live a bubble. Yes, they know he's mess but sitting at home and ordering from Amazon isn't a life either and you need to socialize kids with special needs.

by Anonymousreply 17January 3, 2025 1:49 PM

Sounds like his parents can’t handle his needs.

by Anonymousreply 18January 3, 2025 1:56 PM

R18- I’m special needs too.

I need my cock sucked and balls licked at regular intervals through out the day otherwise I get very HUFFY 😠

by Anonymousreply 19January 3, 2025 1:59 PM

Heyyyy, r19.

[quote]I guess mama failed to have amosantisis

She ain’t had what now?

by Anonymousreply 21January 3, 2025 2:07 PM

That kid should be yanked from that home and stuck in an institution. R17, a destructive mentally challenged kid doesn't get a "day out" at Costco to destroy and possibly endanger normal people shopping.

by Anonymousreply 22January 3, 2025 2:20 PM

R17 is correct. I have been working with special needs families for 14 years and as difficult as it may be, sometimes you have to take them places and get your own shit done. Be thankful you don’t live their lives.

by Anonymousreply 23January 3, 2025 2:21 PM

A friend’s son has autism and he does the arm waving/flailing thing as well.

by Anonymousreply 24January 3, 2025 2:26 PM

Spare the rod, spoil the child. If mom had given dad a blowjob thst nite instead...

by Anonymousreply 25January 3, 2025 2:28 PM

R23 Leave him in the car with the other parent. Strapped down if needed. Or sedate the shit out of him to get the weekly shopping done. Allowing any child to display King Kong mode will not be tolerated. Luckily the kid didn't get tasered or shot. I suspect we are going to see armed security legalized for retail stores to thwart shoplifting and crime. People are going to get shot more frequently, friends. Don't let that special needs relative be one of them.

by Anonymousreply 26January 3, 2025 2:31 PM

Well this will present a challenge in terms of future parental mitigation now.

by Anonymousreply 27January 3, 2025 2:37 PM

by Anonymousreply 32January 3, 2025 2:58 PM

This is payback for breaking his cheeseburger.

by Anonymousreply 33January 3, 2025 3:01 PM

This is on the parents. The kid maybe be "special needs" but his parents aren't. If the kid acts like this it's because he was taught, directly or indirectly, that he can.

Also, the commentary is hilarious.

by Anonymousreply 34January 3, 2025 3:02 PM

[quote] The boy's parents claim their son was in "King Kong Mode" and that they were too afraid to intervene.

Fuck you. Pay me.

by Anonymousreply 35January 3, 2025 3:02 PM

R17 "you need to socialize kids with special needs" Ok then, will you chaperone this kid's outing to Dave and Busters to press the envelop on "socialization"? There's a segment of " special needs" kids that will be unable to socialize within typical society EVER. Should they be institutionized ? No only as a last resort. Professionals in the field agree that outings/socialization needs to be preplanned and in non stimulating enviroments with an appropiate ratio of adult to child supervision. Again these parents were fully aware of the kids issues, the father did not restrain this kid and take him out of the store for fear of not "causing a scene" look what happened. What if one of those TVs fell on somebody ? This kid looked somewhere between 9 to 11 years old. What are the parents going to do when he hits puberty and becomes too big and too strong to be handled by the parents? How will this child contribute to society as an adult ? Its bad enough to shop with normal kids running around unsupervised let alone "behavior challenged " kids creating danger.

by Anonymousreply 36January 3, 2025 3:07 PM

Give me 30 seconds with that child. La chancla will stop that shit immediately.

by Anonymousreply 37January 3, 2025 3:08 PM

by Anonymousreply 71January 3, 2025 6:22 PM

by Anonymousreply 72January 3, 2025 6:22 PM

Carol Ann! I have ASKED you to keep King Kong quiet today! Now for Chrissakes, get him away from the televisions!

by Anonymousreply 73January 3, 2025 6:36 PM

Every one of these videos are examples of terrible parenting. The two women caterwauling about something are feral, low class trash raising their kids to be feral trash. What were they screeching about anyway?

The little girl in Walmart is a future prison inmate whose parents or grandparents have ceded authority over to the brat. She is doubtless never told no and knows granny is scared of her.

When i was a kid and and parents didn't take action for a public nuisance, they were shamed and the kid removed from the scene and disciplined at home. We didn't pull that shit again.

by Anonymousreply 77January 3, 2025 7:09 PM

Brings up the inevitable "where did all these "autistic" kids come from? Was there some environmental disaster? Blanket term used to cover bad/lazy parenting? All i know is we did not have this shit when I was in school. Maybe they were kept of public and in institutions but they were not unleashed on the unsuspecting public but public behavior has gone downhill since the 90s.

by Anonymousreply 78January 3, 2025 7:10 PM

Well, heavens, this is what happens when a child is called a monkey his whole life. Disgraceful.

by Anonymousreply 79January 3, 2025 7:12 PM

R78. I agree with you and I was a child of the 90s. Back then the only kids you saw doing this were actually retarded. And I know that may not be the PC term nowadays but it was mentally retarded kids who barely understood language and would never be fully functioning adults. Autistics kids can read and write. and speak like normal kids even if they don’t quite grasp social cues. You didn’t see autistic kids behave like this back then.

by Anonymousreply 80January 3, 2025 7:14 PM

I don't believe autism is caused by vaccines.

But we have so many chemicals in our food and water supply, and have for decades if not over a century, now, so I have no doubt that's played a role in various developmental issues. It's hard to isolate just one - hard metals, acid mine drainage, microplastics.....

I'm happy and proud to be gay and believe we all deserve love and respect no matter what, but I also believe the huge jump in birth control in the 60s and beyond, and its presence in the water supply after that, has had an impact on the generations that have followed - in various ways.

by Anonymousreply 81January 3, 2025 7:30 PM

The parents may have made a bad call, but the expectations placed on parents with severely disabled children seem unrealistic to me. And this kid is clearly severely disabled.

The narrator has the right idea. He recognizes the absurdity of it and doesn’t seem to be blaming the kid or the parents. It’s unfortunate that the King King thing evokes racist tropes, but I don’t think that’s what happening here. I could be wrong.

Some of the comments here blaming the parents do seem insensitive and racist.

by Anonymousreply 98January 4, 2025 12:35 AM

What a brat. If he has special needs and has displayed this type of behavior before then leave him home! Some parents are just idiots themselves.

by Anonymousreply 99January 4, 2025 1:00 AM

That kid needs to be kept at home in a cage, and only taken out in public on a leash.

And yes, those parents need to pay for every TV that monster destroyed.

by Anonymousreply 100January 4, 2025 1:04 AM

The parents should buy the damaged televisions.

And then return them.

by Anonymousreply 101January 4, 2025 1:06 AM

by Anonymousreply 104January 4, 2025 6:17 AM

The parents definitely need to be held financially responsible. They also need to be held accountable if someone was injured during all of this. If they don't feel they can be responsible, the unfortunate "King Kong" guy needs to become a ward of the state and institutionalized. Sad though his situation may be, property damage and possible injury to others shouldn't be met with just a shrug.

by Anonymousreply 105January 4, 2025 6:22 AM

by Anonymousreply 112January 5, 2025 4:15 AM

I’m glad I had an abortion!

by Anonymousreply 113January 5, 2025 5:05 AM

R49 the parents might have to pay for the damage, but this is why Costco has insurance. Particularly as father was in something of a panic trying to talk the kid down, it wasn’t a case of Bayleigh and Breighden running wild and the parents doing nothing.

More likely Costco might make the screens less accessible.

by Anonymousreply 114January 5, 2025 5:19 AM

R105, How easy is it to accomplish that? I’m asking because I have no idea, not being snide. Do you have to give up all parental rights? Do institutions for children even exist anymore? I know some children end up in nursing home-type facilities, but I think those are children who are minimally conscious and can’t walk or talk.

My gut is that we’ve gone too far in discouraging institutionalizing children and have placed the burden on parents and public schools instead. I had a cousin who was much older than me I never met who was institutionalized. It wasn’t advertised, but it wasn’t hidden, either. I heard his name mentioned occasionally when I was growing up (he was already dead). My aunt had 5 other kids to take care of. She couldn’t be a 24/7professional level aide to just one, although I think she tried for several years as the extent of his disabilities came to light. Nobody can do that.

All that said, this kid might have just had a bad day and happened to have watched King King the day before. I’m not suggesting he should be institutionalized.

by Anonymousreply 115January 5, 2025 6:15 PM

Keep the little devil out of shops, at least. Perhaps a nice early morning visit to a zoo.

by Anonymousreply 116January 6, 2025 2:20 AM

R115 I don't know how difficult it is to accomplish, but a very close friend of our family had her daughter institutionalized from the age of 16 in North Carolina. The child was severely mentally retarded (wasn't a pejorative term in those days). She was non-verbal except for a few words. Her parents simply couldn't handle her at home anymore. She lived the remainder of her life at Broughton Hospital in Morgington, NC (psychiatric facility) and died at nearly 80 just a few years ago. She surprisingly lived many years after her parent's death. My mom and her extended family members visited periodically although she no longer seemed to recognize them and Mom went to her memorial service at the hospital. Mom said she always seemed to be content and well cared for. It was the best they could do given her tragic situation.

by Anonymousreply 117January 6, 2025 4:28 AM

[quote]This kid probably did 10 to 15 k damage to that store the parents should be held financially accountable and have their Costco membership canceled for life.

We're charged ten to 15K for these TV sets that cost $12 to make. Let them be accountable for that. And, yes, cancel their Costco membership! That'll teach 'em...

by Anonymousreply 119January 6, 2025 8:24 AM

by Anonymousreply 120January 6, 2025 8:31 AM

[quote]you need to socialize kids with special needs" Ok then, will you chaperone this kid's outing to Dave and Busters

by Anonymousreply 121January 6, 2025 8:57 AM

I'm not getting how the narration is racist, somebody on the floor is calling the kid King Kong. It seems like some sort of parody. Costco can easily absorb the wholesale cost. Meanwhile it gives us DL denizens of the deep some mild diversion.

by Anonymousreply 122January 6, 2025 9:20 AM

R119, R120

I've read exactly the opposite. There was a severely developedmentally disabled girl to which the parents had her given large amounts of estrogen to cause early puberty (after giving her a hysterectomy). Doing this caused premature closure of the epiphysis which basically dwarfed her. The idea was that she would remain a manageable size so that they could continue care at home. If I can find a link, I'll add it. This was several years ago. I think they lived in the Pacific Northwest.
