Armie Hammer: 'I'm finally turning down roles again!'
Armie Hammer says his career is picking up after three years in industry exile following sexual assault allegations.
The worm is turning, it takes time,” he told Christina Pazsitzy and Tom Segura on the most recent episode of their podcast “Your Mom’s House.” “It’s slow, but generally now the conversation when my name comes up with people in the industry is, ‘Man, that guy got fucked.’ And that feels really good. It’s really encouraging.” In fact, so busy is Hammer he’s “turning jobs down,” he said. “My dance card’s getting pretty full. That first job that I turned down after four years of this shit, I mean, it was the best feeling I’ve ever had.”

But as far as going out in public, here he is on Kimmel wearing a spacesuit costume with sandals and painted toenails. He did not have a problem going out in public looking unkempt.
However he is being honest about one part of it, and that is that he did not like being TOLD to put on a clean shirt or brush his hair. People with ADHD have executive function deficits, and being constantly corrected for relatively minor social faux-pas has a snowballing effect. When he mentioned this on the podcast, you could hear the anger in his voice. And it was directed at his ex-wife.

It doesn't matter, really, what's being offered to him. What matters is that he has the right to work and not be blackballed over absolutely nothing that's anyone else's business. He committed no crimes and was completely set up.

r86 Nobody has a "right" to a career in Hollywood. And it's absolutely everyone else's business when that career relies on people buying tickets to movies he's in.
Even if everything went the way he claims and everything was fully consensual, he'd still be where he is now because he showed incredibly poor judgement in saying the stuff he did on his own social media accounts. And no, he wasn't set up, he chose to send that shit from his main IG DMs. He didn't even use his private account, much less Snapchat. Someone that stupid doesn't deserve a career. On top of which he wasn't a draw, and he wasn't talented.
Speaking of his private account, even after all this was exposed he was posting on there that he was faking drug tests so he could still see his kids while still getting high. That's the level of absolute stupidity we're dealing with here - that he learned absolutely nothing.
by Anonymous | reply 87 | January 7, 2025 8:47 PM

And none of that, R87, is your fucking business, Gladys Kravitz. But since you insist on banging on about it at great length, clearly you feel very invested.
Yes, everybody does have a right to work and not be blackballed on bogus charges. He was completely played by a woman who pretended great injury was done to her--all for money. The wife also used him for her own purposes.
His poor judgment is also none of your fucking business. Yes, people have the right not to buy tickets to his movies. Yes, companies have the right not to cast him. But he absolutely has the right to defend himself, and whatever work he gets, GOOD. And you can sit on your ass at home and not see any of his movies. That's your right.

r90 Except you said
He was completely played by a woman who pretended great injury was done to her--all for money
So you were referring to Effie making money.
And it doesn't matter if there was criminality or not. The poor judgement is not something studios want in their actors. They don't want their marketing campaigns being overrun by gossip about DMs because some actor was too dumb to use Snapchat. Hell, he could've at least deleted the messages from his side of the conversation, but didn't even do that. This was all his own fault. So now he's making shitty movies with a director who makes movies to serve as a tax write-off.

No, R92, I meant the girlfriend, who sold her story and the tweets to every media outlet. Also, the girlfriend colluded with the ex-wife because she was fanagling a large divorce settlement. Now, that's a set-up.
But apart from all that...
And it doesn't matter if there was criminality or not.
Well, it matters in a court of law, but in the court of media opinion and the "cancelled" trend of that moment, he was reckless and stupid. But time has proven no one really cares that much anymore (or at least cares as much as you), so yes, he's working again. And he can move on to better stuff.

Hammer said on his podcast that he didn’t like his movie star image, so he purposely set out to undermine it with “careless” behavior
He essentially admitted to sabotaging all the movies he had filmed and was signing up to film
You will never understand Armie Hammer until you understand that he did not like this person. ⬇️ This person was just as fake as the “cannibal”, a persona he created to shock people (I don’t believe he actually ate anyone or even would eat anybody if given the opportunity.)

So what is the real Hammer? Look at the tattoos
[italic]The combination of the aleph and scorpion tattoos could reflect a complex internal duality within Armie Hammer. The aleph, which is the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet, often symbolizes beginnings, unity, and infinite potential. In contrast, the scorpion symbolizes danger, dominance, and destruction. Together, these tattoos could represent his self-perception of being a figure caught between two extremes—on one hand, someone capable of reinvention or potential redemption (aleph), and on the other, someone fully aware and perhaps even proud of his darker, more dangerous tendencies (scorpion).[/italic]
[italic]This juxtaposition suggests that Hammer might see himself as embodying both creative and destructive forces. The aleph could signify a desire for new beginnings or control over his narrative, while the scorpion emphasizes the darker, primal urges that have been exposed through his behavior. Rather than signaling remorse or a desire to change, this pairing of symbols might indicate that Hammer sees both sides—light and dark—as integral to his identity. It could also suggest a fascination with duality and power, acknowledging both his potential for transformation and his inherent danger.[/italic]

Why would anyone want to hire someone for a job who is so self destructive and tries to burn everything down like that though?
That would be a very poor choice, in my opinion. I wouldn't want to work for a boss who would put my hard work and time at risk because of someone like that.
He should write, direct, and finance his own stuff. Then he can be as flagrantly self destructive as he wants.

R123 they won’t.
Armie has become the proverbial “scorpion on the frog’s back.” He is not castable because people don’t think he will change his destructive nature. Claiming the scorpion as his own, with its tail pointing toward his groin, is remarkably self-aware of him.
He is not castable
He's already being cast again, R125.

If he gets a second chance so should Kevin Spacey. Spacey has been through two criminal trials and two lawsuits on two continents and still hasn't been found guilty or liable of anything

Except in the case of Spacey, R130, I know three actors, including a relative, who was either approached or groped by Spacey. It's true he wasn't convicted, but he's still guilty of being a sex pest over and over.

There were articles in tabloids about his ex-wife colluding with Efrosina Angelova in an attempt to take Armie down and obtain full custody of their children. Effie herself has posted screenshots of the text messages from Elizabeth Chambers more than once. Look it up!

R131, it's not illegal for a gay man to "approach" someone idiot.

r126 That's not Effie.
r132 No there weren't. There were articles about Chambers contacting Effie for information about the affair, and encouraging her to speak out and get a lawyer. But that was all well after Effie posted the screenshots. If the articles you claim existed actually did you would've linked to them yourself.

Sorry, I don’t do links. Just google “Elizabeth chambers Effie” and scroll down. The articles are there. You’re welcome.
