Severance Season 1 is probably the only must see show on there. The long-awaited Season 2 starts the end of January.

Really r1?
Slow Horses is fantastic. Also The New Look about France during WWII, Dior and Chanel. Both lead actors are amazing, Chanel’s story is more interesting.

OP, R1 is absolutely right to prioritize Severance. It's definitely the best show Apple has produced by a mile. Then, Ted Lasso, which I thought I'd find too twee, but is, in fact, quite charming and funny. Bad Sisters is another strong one.

Shrinking and Still Up are both lovely comedies, and the former co-stars Harrison Ford. But Still Horses is definitely the first thing to hit. Unless you haven't seen Ted Lasso yet, in which case do that.

Is Apartment 7A worth watching? It's a prequel to Rosemary's Baby.

Bad Sisters is pretty good, Slow Horses is fantastic if you like spy stories.

My recommendations are: Bad Sisters, For All Mankind, and Palm Royale.
Slow Horses gets preposterous after the first two seasons. Severance and Silo are pretty good, but slow. Sugar is a bit silly, but Colin Farrell is in it.
I HATE Ted Lasso and Shrinking.

What about 'Lessons in Chemistry'?

Another vote for Slow Horses. Give Gary Oldman ALL the awards.

Severance is my favorite show on Apple. I love it beyond measure. Extra entertaining while high.
I’m also enjoying Bad Monkey.

Severance, OP -- binge the entire first season. It may warp your mind a bit, but you won't regret it.
I love love love Severance. And I never like anything!!

It's about time the streaming and cable providers resumed offering free weekends. Time was when HBO used to hold them a couple of times a year.
Cheap bastards - it's the least they can do.

WTF? It has been advertised as free January 3-5. Now it's not available until January 4? Apple you suck!
by Anonymous | reply 15 | January 3, 2025 11:04 AM |
It says starting January 3 on their website. I do have an Apple ID

False advertising... BOO
by Anonymous | reply 18 | January 3, 2025 12:36 PM |
Thanks r17 I see they got some response about it
by Anonymous | reply 19 | January 3, 2025 12:40 PM |
Article in the earlier thread clearly says only 4th and 5th. Variety must have fucked it up.

I highly recommend The New Look for the two lead performances, which are extraordinary, and for the clothes.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | January 5, 2025 5:14 PM |
r20 the press release from Apple said January 3-5. It was their mistake.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | January 5, 2025 9:12 PM |
I have an Apple ID and it doesn't work for me on any of the three different days. I signed up for another account and it's the same bullshit. AppleTV keeps telling me they will send a code to "my devices" for me to enter (in order to use their app) and they don't send the code to anything (email, phone, tv)
A lot of people on Twitter couldn't access this "free weekend" bullshit either.

I watched Palm Royale and it was good

r22 Guess they sent out different press releases to different outlets then, because the 9to5mac article I quoted in the original thread got it right straight away.
