Trump picks Apprentice producer Mark Burnett as UK envoy
Trump has appointed British TV executive Mark Burnett, who produced him on The Apprentice, as his special envoy to the UK. Trump said it was his "great honour" to pick his former colleague for the role, which is separate to the position of US ambassador to the UK.
"Mark will work to enhance diplomatic relations, focusing on areas of mutual interest, including trade, investment opportunities, and cultural exchanges," he added.
Burnett said in a statement: "I am truly honoured to serve The United States of America and President Trump as his Special Envoy to the United Kingdom."
Another unqualified piece of shit.

"With a distinguished career in television production and business, Mark brings a unique blend of diplomatic acumen and international recognition to this important role," Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social on Saturday.
Burnett, 64, was raised in Essex and served as a paratrooper in the Army before emigrating to the US in 1982, when he was 22.

Since ambassadors are patronage jobs, and change with each administration, they are rarely qualified as diplomats. It's the career-service people from the department of state who actually keep things running properly. One of the huge concerns about the incoming administration is that they think that EVERY federal job should be a patronage job and that the incoming president should be able to choose all the civil servants. Zero awareness of how a government of a nation of 340,000,000 actually functions.

R3. FYI...Mark Burnett has been picked as envoy to the UK.
The ambassador to the Court of St. James (UK) is Trump donor Warren Stephens.

Well, that means The Apprentice tapes where Trump uses the "N" word are now gone.

Yeah, R6 -- I was just thinking that.

So what if they're gone, R6/R7. It wouldn't move the needle either way.
Hell, black men voted for Trump in large numbers this year. Hearing him use the "N" word would only increase his popularity with them.
