Americans and food

I don't understand it either, OP.

Because Americans are stupid. I thought that's been well established? But seriously, decades ago ignorance about nutrition was a valid reason for having an unhealthy diet. But thanks to the internet, everybody has access to information about how to be healthy. So stupidity is the only answer. There's no valid excuse. They are deliberately sabotaging their health... kind of like anti-vaxxers. Unfortunately, the internet also fuels anti-intellectualism, and as a result, the dumb get dumber. Because dumb people can't weed out misinformation from fact.

Because a lot of Americans are depressed and/or poor, and over-salted, over=sweetened food is a quick and easy escape.

FAT WHORES!

It's because of the hydroxybenfolithyminzethlene that they ADD to the salt, sugar and grease that we're all addicted to. Notice how people don't eat their hormone/antibiotic laden animals plain, they have to have the salt sugar fat and spices to make people forget about the torture and murder?

I'm a vegetarian, and I love my salt and sugar, r5

Because we’re a first world, rich country that doesn’t have to worry about rationing sugar and salt. What do you think this is? World War II?
by Anonymous | reply 7 | December 21, 2024 9:43 PM |
To rile you up OP.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | December 21, 2024 9:47 PM |
Cause it tastes better that way, OP.

OP, you’re allowed to put as much salt and sugar in your food as you enjoy. You’re not required to add more just because “Americans do.”

Many Americans grow their own fresh vegetables and fruits, which help offset the mass-produced stuff in the supermarkets.

Go to the UK and eat the bland slop they serve you there and you'll understand why American food is usually well seasoned.

I used to take sugar in tea and coffee but weaned myself off it. Now sugar in those beverages tastes awful. Also i eat low sugar baked beans and the original tastes too sweet. So, its really about what you get your taste buds used to for a while.

I don't know OP. Why do Kiwis sound so funny whenever they say the word "decades?"

Not everything. Not ice cream.

Salt is the least of the problem. It's sugar, high fructose corn syrup, dextrose not to mention all the chemicals and other shit you have to be on the lookout for.

A better question: why do the Swedes think it's a good idea to mix salt copious amounts of salt with licorice? Someone explain THAT shit, please.
