Andrew Garfield not getting an Oscar nomination for ‘The Social Network’ is a travesty
I still to this day feel he should have been nominated for Supporting Actor. This was his best performance to date.
The Social Network is a phenomenal film that people hardly speak about. It has amazing screenwriting, acting and all around filmmaking.

R1 that’s the year Christian Bale won for The Fighter.
The other nominees were John Hawkes (Winters Bone), Jeremy Renner (The Town), Mark Ruffalo (The Kids Are All Right), and Geoffrey Rush (The Kings Speech)

I agree. He should've gotten the slot that midget Renner got. He was the strongest most sympathetic character in the whole movie.

Nah I think the Academy got it right.

Did he get his $$$ back? How much of FB did he end up with at the end? Did he win his lawsuit?
I never saw the movie!!

Because it lacks anyone to root for. Good movies need you to invest in a character onscreen in some capacity. So it didn’t connect with people. It was not a surprise when it lost to King’s Speech

R6 but that made me appreciate the film even more. Felt more realistic. They’re ALL assholes.

David Fincher really isn't a great director. He gets mood and suspense right but not much else. The Social Network is massively overrated.

R9 I feel the opposite. I feel it is highly underrated.

R10, I found it a slog to get through. I don't think it revealed anything special.

Only tall people deserve nominations according to you, apparently.
Why would that be?

Not everything is made for big reveals.

It’s one of the better films made in the last 15 years. Top tier writing, acting, tone and atmosphere, a phenomenal score, amazing pacing. Just well done.

Jesse Eisenberg's depiction Zuckerberg is in no way close to the real thing. Probably Sorkin's fault though.

I think he’s pretty spot on.

nah r17 Eisenberg was cocky and arrogant
Zuckerberg always seems a bit befuddled and socially awkward.

Wasn't there some early Oscar buzz for Justin Timberlake too?

Yes r19. They probably cancelled each other out.
I can remember Timberlake in some sketch on SNL where he joked that he didn't even get a Golden Globe nomination.

I still don't understand why Justin Timberlake played that character in such a gay, mincing way. He made me think that the real-life Sean Parker was a flaming queen.

On a scale of 1 to 10 Sorkins, how Sorkin is this? There's only so much Sorkin I can handle
