Hammer appears to have built up some cognitive dissonance or defense mechanism in which he believes he was canceled for being at worst, a cad. This may even be another mask.

Hammer more or less says that he wouldn’t make amends to EVERYONE because he would have to publicly acknowledge things which would destroy his life and he was told not to do that.

The hermaphrodite at that point become visibly speechless and very well aware how in over their head they are. A completely toxic narcissist cannot be reasoned with. It’s like talking to Trump.

Whether or not Effie is crazy, at the fundamental level this interview does show that Hammer admits that his interactions with her, if he acknowledged them even in an act of repentance, would seriously damage his reputation. This is an admission of both guilt and unrepentance. Even the namecheck of Dan Savage is ironic because Dan Savage’s podcast about the incident veers towards belief in Hammer’s guilt. Hammer dregs him up to defend himself because Savage allegedly said to him that “sometimes people just like what they like” as a means to defend himself.

Hammer attempts to reframe his sexual compulsion in vanilla language - he says that when he first had sex with a girl, he thought it was fantastic and he got addicted like it was tasting alcohol or smoking a cigarette. He acknowledges it only as “sex”, which he is not being cancelled for. He is being cancelled for beating women. This rings at best as denial and at worst as gaslighting and manipulation.

This is where I’d be interested in which pronouns are appropriate, since I’m not Conservative and just gatekeep someone’s identity when it’s convenient.
