Bought some sneakers from Kohls, they came with a security tag, the store refunded me for the purchase, but I cannot return them without it costing money- beyond stupid policy, but has anyone here ever successfully removed one of these without it exploding ink all over the item?
Denizens of DL, any experience with security tag removal?

Please explain how that makes any sense.

R4 - it doesn't - OP stole some shoes.

Winona, I think you'll just have to take them back to the store and fess up.

This place used to be so full of stunt queens there would have been three different boosters arguing about the best way to remove the tag.

OP - a warning - just because you walked out with merchandise - don't think Kohl's or Target or wherever doesn't know.
Most often, they are waiting for you to steal more - and then once it hits the magic number, they're gonna charge you with a felony. They have the tapes of all the theft and they are ready to go.
Seriously.

I would love to see OP finally be arrested.

While the responses from this thread are funny, it's a pathetically underwhelming reality. I have another style/shoe ordered, but given they were of no cost at this point, are not worn, and not going to be, was going to donate them. Don't act like you haven't encountered ass backwards responses from companies due to corporate policy.
Still hoping this thread produces something more productive, but who the f@ck am I kidding, it is DL.

You dysfunctional fuck, OP. Shoplifting from Kohls? You didn't have $22.99 in your bank account to pay for the shoes?

Put it in the freezer.

R13, R16 Thank You! I've been spending too much time here, starting a thread asking for advice was my first thought vs googling. Although Google wouldn't have provided the entertainment in the first dozen or so posts.

You go to the store with your receipt of purchase and they will remove it.
