Chestnuts

I noticed they are for sale everywhere this Christmas season, either more so than usual or I'm just noticing. Does anyone actually roast them, on an open fire or otherwise? I do miss the smell of them on midtown Manhattan streets but never made them.

I roast mine from my trees, sometimes over a fire (there's a trick to it) and sometimes in an oven.

But I prefer my hickory nuts.

Cut an 'X' in the them and roast them in your oven. You can even do them in the microwave.
