NFL’s Roger Goodell addresses Jay-Z's rape allegation and Super Bowl Halftime Show

Roger Goodell is responding to recent allegations against Jay-Z.

The NFL commissioner shared an update on the organization's partnership with the rapper for the forthcoming Super Bowl three days after it was revealed that Jay-Z—whose real name is Shawn Carter—was accused in a civil lawsuit of raping a 13-year-old girl alongside Sean "Diddy" Combs.

"We’re aware of the civil allegation, and Jay-Z’s really strong response to that," Goodell said during a Dec. 11 press conference. "And we know that obviously litigation is happening now. But from our standpoint, our relationship is not changing with them, including our preparation for the next Super Bowl."

And the 65-year-old provided insight into why the NFL plans to continue evolving its collaboration with Carter's Roc Nation company, which was brought into the organization to executive produce the Super Bowl Halftime Show and help with the league’s social justice program Inspire Change.

"They’re getting incredibly comfortable with not just the Super Bowl but other events that they’ve helped us on and helped us with," Goodell continued. "They’ve been helpful in the social justice area to us on many occasions."

He added, "They’ve been great partners that have provided a lot of value for us."

Three days before Goodell's update, an accuser—identified anonymously as "Jane Doe"—refiled a sexual assault civil lawsuit that she originally filed against Combs in October, this time adding Carter as an additional defendant in the case. In the document, she alleged that the two music moguls raped her at a house party in 2000 following the MTV Video Music Awards in New York.

[quote] Beyoncé Teases ‘A Cowboy Carter Christmas’ Ahead of NFL Halftime Show Performance

Beyoncé is going home for the holidays, and Houston couldn’t be a more fitting location for the first-ever Cowboy Carter live performances. In a teaser trailer for her upcoming halftime performance during Netflix‘s inaugural NFL Christmas Gameday, the musician decorates a festive cactus with football ornaments while snow falls all around her.

A Cowboy Carter Christmas, as Beyoncé refers to it in the caption of her post, will premiere live on Netflix on December 25. The set will begin midway through the Houston Texans match-up against the Baltimore Ravens, scheduled for 4:30 p.m. EST at NRG Stadium in Houston.

The first preview of the performance was shared when it was initially announced in November. That clip leaned fully into the football aesthetic with nods to the American themes across Cowboy Carter. It was backed by audio from “Ameriican Requiem,” the opening song from Beyoncé’s eccentric country album.

This new clip reflects a change in the seasons. Beyoncé is dressed head to toe in white with an enormous fur cowboy hat and a shaggy coat cascading around her. With the point of her finger guns, she fires two shots and illuminates the star on top of the prickly plant.

“With Netflix and Beyoncé, the NFL kicks off what is expected to be a new holiday tradition, as Netflix has also announced NFL games for 2025 and 2026,” Netflix shared in November. “Produced by Beyoncé’s Parkwood Entertainment and Jesse Collins Entertainment, this year’s halftime show will be the first live performance of songs from her genre-bending and record-breaking album Cowboy Carter.”

The release also teased special guest features from artists who appear on Cowboy Carter. Beyoncé’s list of collaborators on the album includes Shaboozey, Miley Cyrus, Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Linda Martell, Post Malone, and more.

How distasteful.

Her husband is being sued for raping a 13 year old girl, and Beyonce is acting like everything is fine and normal.

She and JayZ need to drop out of the Superbowl show.

If the shit hits the fan in the next month, the Superbowl producers are going to be screwed, trying to come up with a new act.

The Jay-Z accuer is pure batshit.. It's obvious at this point she is lying. I think even NBC News knows it too. the hosts is face was like WTF?Have y'all seen the interview. She claims she talked to Benji from Good Charlotte about his tattoos. They released a public statement, "that they did not attend the 2000 VMAS and weren't in New York at the time." So a 13 yr old autistic(yes she claims to be autistic too) woman from Rochester drove 5 hrs to the VMAs with a friend. "The friend" is dead btw. Her dad says he doesn't remember anything out of the ordinary when "they" returned a few days later. This is a lie by a severely mentally ill woman. Shit is sad and her family even knows she is lying but perhaps can't stop a grown mentally ill woman from doing what she wants.
