Well that’s a wasted prayer, R6. You should be hoping and praying that the legal and judicial system holds just enough to delay his worst decisions until the midterms when the MAGA party can lose either one or both houses, leaving Trump completely lame in his last two years.

I do think this is going to be completely lights out for the United States. Most of the world is preparing to operate without dependency on the U.S. and they would’ve been preparing to do so for years.

The U.S. under Trump during the pandemic was nearly useless, certainly no leader in anything. Brazil has done better to protect their democracy than the U.S. has.

Under Trump, the intelligence services will suffer, none of the “five eyes” are going to risk their intelligence resources by sharing info with a known Russian asset. Trump and his goons will think they’re getting one over on everybody by doing Putin’s bidding but Putin isn’t doing so great as a leader and his country is a shithole.

The best medicine for this strain of authoritarianism is pain. Americans are going to have to experience some real and memorable pain to overcome this. No way around it.

Appointed FBI directors have a 10 year term. Wray will have another 2 1/2 years left , and the only way to fire him is there is a just cause. Doesn't anybody in government or the media have any spine to stand up?
