Percival from "Little House on the Prairie" Started His Career in Gay Porn
Well, kind of.
Actor Steve Tracy, best known as Nellie Oleson's milquetoast-ish husband Percy in the early 1980s, made his film debut in 1977 in the gay porn movie "Heavy Equipment," starring legend Jack Wrangler.
Tracy is the main character in the movie, playing, as usual, a nerd who comes across a magic spell that transforms him into a hot gay stud who has lots of sex with other guys.
The movie is surprisingly heavy on dialogue and plot and features decent acting, back when X-rated movies were actually "movies." In fact, it's a good 20-25 minutes before the movie's first sex scene.
It's interesting that Tracy managed to transition to the mainstream after this one. Poor guy was one of AIDS' early casualties, though, passing away in 1986 at just 34 years of age.

Tracy never gets naked or has sex in the movie. That's all left to his alter ego, Jack Wrangler.

I had forgotten what a fine actor Jack Wrangler was.

The music over the opening credits is hilarious. You'd think it was some big MGM production.

Isn't that why Alison Arngrim became so dedicated to AIDS activism?

R7 Yes. She was very supportive of him when he was diagnosed.

R6 I know. It's hilarious. Obviously, some canned studio music somebody managed to snag.

R9 Yes, the whimsical music playing over images of giant cartoon dicks is quite the contrast.

I wonder if he ever got close to Michael Landon’s 10 incher?

What's also interesting is that the movie's director, Tom DeSimone, directed a lot of hardcore films throughout the 1980s, then became a successful TV director in the 1990s, directing episodes of shows like "Pensacola: Wings of Gold," "She Spies," and "Swamp Thing."

R11 I wonder if Steve Tracy submitted "Heavy Equipment" to Michael Landon to view when he was trying to get the Little House role.

Now this is some good trivia. Little House is the gift that keeps on giving.

You buried the lede, r12. Amidst the 80s porn DeSimone also directed 2 Linda Blair classicks (Hell Night and Savage Streets) plus Reform School Girls, Angel III: The Final Chapter and The Concrete Jungle with Jill St. John. That's an oeuvre that deserves respect here on the DL
