I was reading an interview with a friend of his and the friend said that he was interested in generational trauma. He is left handed and apparently his mother made him cut meat with his right hand because that is what normal people do. His family sounds incredibly rigid and conservative. He also apparently was looking around at his last hearing for them and no one was there.

I did thing it was odd that he had been MIA for months and his mother only reported him missing in November. A family like that would absolutely disown a mentally ill child.
