THE COMING GUILLOTINES IN THE TOWN SQUARE: Fear in the C-Suite after UnitedHealthcare CEO gunned down
People’s hero, Luigi “Justice Adonis” Mangione, is a Mega Chad who every want to be or fuck.
The public reaction to his execution of the United Healthcare CEO will inspire copy cats of every desperate incel or grieving loved one to steal some of Luigi’s glory.
Could this assassination be akin to the slaying of the Arch Duke Ferdinand?

If the amateur Hunter Killer groups starting racking up kills in the future every day gay men walking the streets will be lots more a target than the number of CEOs being killed.
And if that happens it will be fear or hate wrapped in a new outbreak or epidemic that drives the HK squads.
One new outbreak that is all it’s going to take. Although I’d love to hear how many think this is wrong and the next outbreak will only bring a protective supportive CDC. ( that CDC will be found in the history books)

Corporate greed is a given, like a force of nature. The problem isn’t corporate greed. It’s political corruption enabled by a partisan Supreme Court more concerned with ensuring Republican victory than in maintaining a functioning democracy. A system that allows one man to spend $250 million to buy himself a pet President is broken.

Some of the Bluesky activists also have no clue how business works. CEOs are the workers who are beholden to investors and boards and various overlords. You could fire every single CEO (or I guess kill them) and they are just going to be replaced by another worker. If you want change, you have to look above them.

Like, every gay guy I know, even the less attractive ones, if they did something like this and became famous for it, would have had nudes leaked by someone by now, even if just by a Grindr random that never bothered to delete them.

[quote]CEOs are by and large men and women who worked really hard and rose the ranks within their industries.
Working really hard if the results of said really hard work cause deep embedded dismay and anguish - as has been widely reported - cannot be said to be inherently meritorious.
Often when an innocent is murdered there are expressions of genuine grief and sadness at such a loss. Beyond decent formalities, that has not been the case with this late CEO. Vehemence has instead been expressed at the cruelties imposed by policies enforced by said CEO. Doubtless imposed upon people who also worked really hard to pay for those policies, which were denied to them in their hours of most need.

No, CEOs got there basically via two streams: either they inherited the title (money), or they went to an IVY league school, one of the many that are CEO factories. And they got into those schools largely due to legacy (you know, inherited) admissions, money or connections. And those few that did work really hard and strive to get ahead immediately engage in the same gatekeeping that their wealthier counterparts have for centuries.
If you feel that merit is the path to success, you should really be a fan of Luigi. He worked really hard to find this CEO, suffered through all of the twists and turns of finding the exact right place at the exact right time when the CEO was vulnerable, and he achieved his goal! I mean, the goal of his effort was death, just like the goal of the CEO (only worse, to make money off of death).

Brian was a psychopath who increased his company's profits enormously at the expense of denying coverage to people. And then there is his insider trading and dumping of stocks and use of a 90% fallible algorithm to deny care. This man's death was no loss to the world except to his children-he had been separated from his wife for 6 years-and they will be very rich.
And after his murder Anthem rolled back its decision to deny coverage of anesthesia beyond a certain point in an operation if they felt it was going on too long. Now how would they know exactly? That's pretty fucking sick. This decision was made AFTER the assassination. Brian's murder was worth that alone.

Ok how did the CEO "kill" people? How do the policies set by the murdered CEO directly cause the death in the people?
For me, it will probably be abstaining from regular medical care and check ups because the whole process is a pain to deal with. I don't know if they do it on purpose to keep you away but most medical front desk people aren't very nice or happy to see patients. It's the nurses and doctors who are far kinder. The front desk staff usually act like gargoyles of hell.

[quote]Ok how did the CEO "kill" people? How do the policies set by the murdered CEO directly cause the death in the people?
He denied needed care to sick people, who died when they didn't receive the needed treatment. Are you really that stupid, R67?
The horror stories going around on social media... wow. The one stuck in my head is from a doctor who wrote that a patient cancelled an operation to repair his fractured ankle, saying he couldn't afford the deductible and co-pay. The doctor explained that the patient (formerly) worked in construction, which he will not be able to do with his injury. He will walk with pain, feebly, until either he gets the operation or dies. Think about that "choice": either I go bankrupt receiving treatment, or I lose the ability to work, walk, and enjoy life. And this is after paying for health insurance for years, possibly decades.
Personally, my doctor wants to put me on a new class of statins that are reportedly less onerous to people with allergies to them (like me). But my insurance won't cover the drug because it's "new." The good news is that GoodRx will cover it for about double what my normal Rx copay — about $25 per refill — and it's just absurd that my regular insurance won't pay. It's a cheap drug that will prevent a much costlier treatment down the road. Doctor said it will probably be covered in a year, but I shouldn't wait as the initial studies showed that it reduced the chance of my having a stroke by about 30%. So here's the perfect example of how an insurance company's policies directly impact my health. And it's bullshit.
Until the insurance fraud (and that's what this is) ends, we need hundreds of Luigis.

From the article at r79:
[quote] the mission of its parent company, Advocate Health, “is to provide access to high-quality care for everyone in the communities we serve, no matter their financial circumstances.”
This is absolute horseshit and everybody in this country knows it, about every single "health care" organization. The best these fuckers can do, ever, is to arbitrarily waive some debts. But 99% of people with hospital debt will remain buried in debt. That is why people are so ambiguous about the death of a health care executive. Deep down, we all know it's the entire system that should get the death penalty.
And then there's this useless fuckery as a "solution":
[quote] Arizona and Colorado now cap the interest rates levied on medical debt,
Oh, fuck off. That's a stupid half-assed "solution" to the real problem.

Everybody does R94. And most Americans have a "story" about their dealings with healthcare insurance.
One interesting thing I learned is that the healthcare insurance industry average for denying claims is 16%. However, UnitedHealthcare's average is 32% of all customer claims denied. It is a business model for UnitedHealthcare.
UnitedHealth Group's profit in 2023 = $22 billion dollars.

I don't think the media followed up on this murder suicide which happened in 2019. And why if they did not? And they were gun nuts so probably on the right. In any case sounds like they did not get the care they needed either mentally and/or financially.
An elderly husband and wife died in an apparent murder-suicide in Washington state, and police say they found notes about the couple's struggles to afford needed medical care.
A 77-year-old man called 911 on Wednesday morning saying he planned to die by suicide, the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post.
"Several notes were left citing severe ongoing medical problems with the wife and expressing concerns that the couple did not have sufficient resources to pay for medical care,” the sheriff's statement said.
Police are not releasing the names of the couple at this time. Two dogs found alive in the house were taken to a local humane society. Numerous firearms were also found in the house.
“It is very tragic that one of our senior citizens would find himself in such desperate circumstances,” Sheriff Bill Elfo said in a statement.
