House Oversight Committee Grilled Post Master General Louis DeJoy Today
Six hour replay of today's session on C-Span2. The Republicans and Democrats alike tore into him regarding the deterioration of USPS services during his tenure.
Arrogant, nasty, argumentative little man actually covered his ears at one point in response to questioning.
Only the best people.

OK, thanks for the update.
People voted for this. So what are you proposing if you agree with this?

Follow the proceedings and draw your own conclusions, R1.

Republican voters vote for someone who intentionally works to hobble an agency. And then they complain when said agency provides subpar, unreliable service. You can't fix stupid.

I don’t normally approve of cannibalism, but I assume this was in the national interest.

DeJoy was appointed in 2020 to deliberately destroy sorting machines as a way of deterring vote by mail.
Why didn't Biden get rid of him? What damage did he do to affect this year's election? (Many mail-in votes from Blue districts disappeared). Yet no investigation!
Was he asked about this?

Biden didn't get rid of him because his position is set for a certain number of years, regardless of the administration, and can only be fired for cause. Like the FBI Director is supposed to be, but Trump don't care.

Trump hired him to do a shitty job and he has. He will probably get the Orange Jesus medal of freedom during this administration. Right after the USPS is permanently shut down and the United States Trump Delivery Service replaces it.

R7 I'm aware of that. But if deliberately destroying sorting machines to slow down the mail system and fuck with a national election isn't "cause", I don't know what is!

Dems never have the balls to do what Repug would do without a second thought or losing a night of sleep over it.

The Republicans have wanted to destroy, err, privatize the post office since forever. It's just too tempting a target: everyone depends on it, it's an efficient government service staffed by a powerful union, and it delivers (ha!) tremendous value to rural America. So of course they want to slowly boil the frog until it's dead, then they can replace it with a hyena who can't do the job despite a 500% increase in price.
And it will be the Democrats' fault, naturally. Mark my words: Trump will say Biden had the opportunity to save the post office and he squandered it. And the thing is, he's right. Biden could have used him official act immunity, said "fuck it, you're out DeJoy!" and replaced him. But, no.

R9 because he didn’t actual do any of that. Two presidential election with any trouble for mail in votes.

Yes, the delays in mail processing were magical! Had nothing to do with DeJoy ordering that half of the sorting machines be taken offline, dismantled, and stripped for parts. Pure coincidence. Who knew that destroying these multi-million dollar machines capable of sorting about a hundred thousand pieces of mail per hour each were critical to the smooth operation of the postal system? Not Louis DeJoy, former CEO of New Breed Logistics!

R13 both elections worked just fine. You’re being hysterical.

Okay, R15, you go take a look at the numbers of ballots that weren't counted because they were "late", how many were "lost" and reconcile the numbers because (and I'll guarantee you) the numbers don't add up. Reports of people who said they mailed in ballots and never received acknowledgement that they were counted has been extraordinary.
Beyond the election, tell us about the business you conduct with the post office, R15. Clearly, you think my assessment is incorrect (not knowing how extensively I work with all of the shipping companies), so inform us as to your expertise in the post office's performance.

I will guarentee you don’t know jack shit about the actual turnout and vote count. You type like someone whose entire understanding of the actual process comes from half-ass scrolling of DL threads.
There a many just like you—
