Oh, fuck. Mouseboy is going to win the Oscar isn't he?

The Academy loves biopics and would probably like to avoid giving Adrien Brody two Oscars and make him the new Hilary Swank: talented but unmarketable.

I thought they would veer toward Daniel Craig as the alternative to Brody but Chalamet's film isn't gay as fuck so the dinosaurs at the Academy won't get offended at being forced to watch it.

Giving Mouseboy the Oscar would also give the Academy Gen Z cred. (Especially if Ariana Grande also wins that night.)

Here y’all bitches go. The lust some of you DL queens have for this unattractive twink is comical. 😂

by Anonymousreply 2December 10, 2024 8:48 PM

If Best Actor was as competitive as Best Actress this year, they would throw his "oscar bait look at me I'm acting snl skit" in the trash. The Academy will lose all respect and credibility if they reward him with either a nomination or win.

by Anonymousreply 3December 10, 2024 8:50 PM

His performance is getting good reviews but the film itself is not. That rarely helps the prospects of acting nominees.

by Anonymousreply 4December 10, 2024 8:52 PM

As of now, 68 on Metacritic with 25 reviews.

by Anonymousreply 5December 10, 2024 8:54 PM

It's time.

And it couldn't happen to a hotter Twink than Timmy!

They don't love music biopics for "Best Actor" unreservedly, OP.

by Anonymousreply 7December 10, 2024 9:10 PM

Nominated or not he is a versatile actor, very entertaining however as good as his performance is he is to young to win just like the guy in Elvis , however the actor who portrayed Mercury did win an Oscar was a gay character and young , so who knows I could be wrong.

by Anonymousreply 8December 10, 2024 9:19 PM

I think it’s more likely to go to Brody, Craig, or Fiennes

by Anonymousreply 9December 10, 2024 9:23 PM

I’ve actually seen A Complete Unknown and Timothée is absolutely fantastic in it (and I’m not some deranged stan of his).

There is a scene less than ten minutes into the film with him as Dylan opposite Scoot McNairy’s Woody Guthrie and Edward Norton’s Pete Seeger where Chalamet transforms into Bob Dylan right in front of your eyes. And it never drops.

Very Oscar-worthy performance. The movie is a real crowd-pleaser too. I can see it being a hit in theaters.

by Anonymousreply 10December 10, 2024 9:24 PM

[QUOTE] The Academy will lose all respect and credibility if they reward him with either a nomination or win.

You, quite clearly, have not seen the film.

by Anonymousreply 11December 10, 2024 9:25 PM

R1 Ariana Grande is not Gen Z. She is thirty something. Or do you just mean her influence with that generation.

by Anonymousreply 12December 10, 2024 9:26 PM

It's weird how men under 30 rarely win Oscars while young females win all the time. Are the geezers in the Academy jealous of young guys?

by Anonymousreply 13December 10, 2024 9:32 PM

Oh, god not, let it be Craig or Ralph Fiennes.

by Anonymousreply 14December 10, 2024 9:36 PM

R4: I thought the review embargo lifting two weeks before opening would be a sign of confidence. I guess not.

by Anonymousreply 15December 10, 2024 9:42 PM

DL truly is full of unhappy disgruntled people who truly cannot cope with talent, achievement and of course success. It has to be because they are so unhappy with themselves or in their lives.

by Anonymousreply 16December 10, 2024 9:50 PM

[quote]Oh, fuck. Mouseboy is going to win the Oscar isn't he?

I already have an honorary from '32 and a competitive one in 1942, friend. Makes sense for someone else to win, and I'm sure deserve it.

But please tone down your language. My nephews are right here.

by Anonymousreply 17December 10, 2024 9:59 PM

R13 I actually think that plays apart if it. But I also think it’s a 2 way street. I feel like in male culture it’s all about respect. So the guys voting, are going to encompass who has the most respect in the industry rather than just the merit of the individual performances. As a culture we love young women. So any great actress that’s also young has an advantage.

by Anonymousreply 18December 10, 2024 10:17 PM

He can't act.

by Anonymousreply 19December 10, 2024 10:25 PM

I thought he was good in Call Me By Your Name

by Anonymousreply 20December 10, 2024 11:12 PM

Timothée, 12/12, "Stephen Colbert Show."

by Anonymousreply 21December 10, 2024 11:31 PM

R8, Rami Malek was 35 when he won the Oscar . Austin was 31 when nominated. What constitutes "young"?

by Anonymousreply 22December 10, 2024 11:37 PM

The mouseboy/ratboy troll is obviously completely obsessed with this actor and since he will never, ever have him, needs to drag him through the mud on the board every chance he can get.

It’s not tedious and mortifying … at all!

by Anonymousreply 23December 10, 2024 11:38 PM

Luckily for the nominees, I am not in the fray.

Unluckily for me, nobody cares.

by Anonymousreply 24December 10, 2024 11:41 PM

R23, Obsession works in many directions home, like a rolling stone.

Timmy is 28 right now, and will turn 29 on December 27.

So he's right in that same age group.

Perfect timing for an Academy Award!

I think we can all agree there's never been a more polarizing leading man. The fans and haters are equally insane and annoying.

by Anonymousreply 28December 11, 2024 1:23 AM

Dear Sweat Baby Jesus God on High, please let TimCha win for best actor and Cynthia win for best actress to make heads on DL explode to the high heavens. Oh, please, oh, please, heavenly father. If you grant this one request, I will be your faithful servant until the end of days.

by Anonymousreply 29December 11, 2024 1:38 AM

I hope he wins!!!

by Anonymousreply 30December 11, 2024 3:17 AM

R30: He'll win a razzie but that's about it!

by Anonymousreply 31December 11, 2024 3:34 AM

There’s so many amazing films and performances this year if this mediocre biopic gets anything it’ll be a laughingstock

by Anonymousreply 32December 11, 2024 3:48 AM

R32: Praying that Daniel Craig and particularly Sebastian Stan get in.

by Anonymousreply 33December 11, 2024 3:57 AM

by Anonymousreply 35December 11, 2024 4:14 AM

If Timmy wins it he will be the youngest best actor in history beating Adrien Brody by some months.

by Anonymousreply 36December 11, 2024 4:33 AM

Please stop calling him "Mouseboy."

He has a name.

It's TIMOTHEE!

by Anonymousreply 37December 11, 2024 6:03 AM

[quote] Praying that Daniel Craig and particularly Sebastian Stan get in.

I'm hoping for Daniel Craig, too.

I absolutely love him.

by Anonymousreply 38December 11, 2024 6:03 AM

In my opinion, Daniel Craig gave the performance of the year in QUEER.

by Anonymousreply 39December 11, 2024 6:37 AM

but what does Armie think??🙄

by Anonymousreply 40December 11, 2024 9:47 AM

R29, Is Sweat Baby Jesus the Savior of Gym Rats?

(P.S. "TimCha" is never going to happen, not even in this ridiculous country.)

by Anonymousreply 41December 11, 2024 10:19 AM

Keep it up, r16. I'm sure Timmy will arrive at your house shortly with an engagement ring. Your ass-kissing is bound to pay off eventually.

by Anonymousreply 42December 11, 2024 11:02 AM

LOL @ Oscar!

by Anonymousreply 43December 11, 2024 11:04 AM

R42 Timmy lives in your head and is, like all of us, laughing at you

by Anonymousreply 44December 11, 2024 1:54 PM

R32, have you seen the film?

by Anonymousreply 45December 11, 2024 2:01 PM

Why not? Emma Stone has TWO and actors like Glenn Close got nothing. It's bullshit.

by Anonymousreply 46December 11, 2024 2:13 PM

[quote]Am I missing something? All he does is mumble.

R34, have you ever heard Dylan speak?

by Anonymousreply 47December 12, 2024 3:42 AM

No OP. He's not going to win an Oscar.

by Anonymousreply 48December 12, 2024 5:11 AM

[quote]R34, have you ever heard Dylan speak?

R34 must be tarded.
