Why is every charity just $19 a month ?
Just about every charity on television these days - whether for children or animals - asks the viewer to subscribe for just $19 a month which is 63 cents a day.
What is so magical about $19 a month for these charities ? Is know it's less than $20 a month, so are they thinking asking $20 /mo would be 'too much' for viewers to contribute ?

Don't look at me -- I never give 'em nothin'.
But then again, I'm poor.

They know how people are lazy/forget to cancel automatic debits to their accounts. And $19 isn't even twenty bucks, practically nothing. I believe the individual should decide what's appropriate to give and when. These people want to ding your account on a regular basis.

Remember when things were $9.99? There are psychological reasons for pricing it that way. Mostly, it’s that a large chunk of the population will say, “Wow, that’s less than 20 dollars!”

Save the Children is only $10 a month. Guess saving children costs less than saving animals.
