How would you feel if a bunch of CEOs started getting shot? Sounds good in theory but the place would become a warzone (Russia).
There are only a handful of people that have the leadership skills that warrant golden parachutes and multi-million dollar salaries. Without these key people, the companies would cease to run and this country would be taken over by evil communists. Remember, you can become a CEO too.

The death of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson has some strange coincidences
- UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was in the middle of a federal lawsuit for INSIDER TRADING and fraud - Here he is saying he works with NANCY PELOSI to get grants - Nancy Pelosi traded on inside information right BEFORE UnitedHealthcare had a huge data leak - Nancy Pelosi bought Palo Alto shares right BEFORE United Healthcare announced their recent security breach - Palo Alto Networks is a cybersecurity company partnered with UnitedHealth Group to secure their systems after a cyberattack
Iām sure these are all huge coincidences

R167, seriously? This could quite literally be the plot of a movie thriller: CEO gunned down in broad daylight in one of the most unexpected, and shocking, acts of vigilantism in NYC history. (Even Bernard Goetz didn't get this much press!) It was a huge mystery and a clearly intricately planned hit.
It admittedly may involve the fact that the killer is insanely hot.

This is my problem with the media - all the media not going to call it MSM. Constant stories about him, his friends all crawling out of the woodwork to tell their story, his face everywhere, validictorian footage, shots of his college, every face book photo they can find. It will make jury selection impossible and any decent defense attorney will be able to fight it in court.

The killed CEO was under investigation for making 50 million on a stock sale using insider information and his boss had made 100 million and was under investigation as well? Is this true? United Health is one of the most corrupt insurance companies in the country? I know that no therapist and few competent dentists will take my coverage. It is too much for them to deal with. It's not worth it for them.
I was just watching a podcast where it took a woman 5 weeks for prior authorization for an MRI for a painful hip. It was cancer and that 5 weeks was crucial to stopping the cancer that caused the pain. She was forced to have her leg amputated. And then she died from the cancer anyway. You might say well there is a good chance she would have died from cancer anyway. But not everything was done to save her. Another man would not have his bullet to the chest operation covered because he did not have prior approval. Anthem insurance has decided to reverse its decision on not covering anesthesia in an operation beyond a certain period of time. There were weeks of pushback but the decision was made after the murder. Coincidence? Like they didn't already know there would be enormous pushback and the decision was made after the murder?

A few documentaries have been made about UniversalHealth and their practices of deny, delay tactics as a business model. The CEO worked for the company for 20 years shaping and directing company policy. He was CEO for 4 years and was earning $10.2 million per year.

I'm wondering if Trump might do so. Seriously. He's a rich, good-looking white kid ā and a graduate of the same university as Trump ā whose angst reflects that of a large swath of Americans, on both sides of the aisle. It was Repugs who were going apeshit on X last week with the attacks on the CEO "deserving it." Agreed, and in general I broadly agree with Klippenstein. "Frankly, these parasites simply had it coming" and "evidently I am the first to face it with such brutal honesty" can absolutely be read as a de facto call to arms.
All that said, this will only further the conspiracy theories about the media (particularly the "leftist media") "controlling" everything we see or do, which has long been a right-winger obsession. Further still, there's really not much else in the full manifesto that either helps or hurts Luigi's case, and I can see why one would have an issue with the NYT publishing the literal Unabomber manifesto ā which is LONG AS FUCK ā but not a quick one under 300 words.

R289. That may be, but we have that system not because we havenāt shot enough insurance CEOs but because of the way people vote. The most prominent argument against the Clinton health reform was that people loved and were happy with their private insurance.
Americans are childish. They donāt want a public system but they expect private companies to function like a public system.
by Anonymous | reply 290 | December 13, 2024 1:10 AM |
R288 I agree with what you're saying, and I'm not trying to be funny, but in this day and age people with huge medical bills (and no insurance, or high deductibles ) are turning to the kindness of strangers via 'GoFundMe' and it seems to be working for them. THAT is a big factor that can't be ignored as we head into the second quarter of this new century.
I donated $25 to someone who worked for my employer last year - 39 year old very fit guy who had a stroke. Worked in maintenance at my company, newly married (less than three years) and had just become a dad to twins a few months prior. He had very good health insurance via my employer, but also had a plan with high deductibles (something most fit young men choose) which he couldn't swing. His boss set up a GFM and within weeks, he hit his goal to pay off his bills, and had a little left over, which helped tie him over while he was out of work.

Criminals donāt ask if you want to contract with them. A murderer doesnāt ask if you want him to be your murderer. A rapist doesnāt ask if you want him to be your murderer
If what insurance companies provider is worthless or horrible, you are always free not to buy their horrible services. Not buying insurance is a simpler approach than having to murder everyone on the insurance industry.

US Healthcare and other health insurance firms are directly responsible for lobbying in order to create bigger loopholes to enable them to charge more and for gumming up the works at every opportunity to delay and deny coverage in order to maximize their profits to their shareholders. Corporations with good faith would not be operating in such a fashion. Tens of thousands of unnecessary deaths each year due to excessive healthcare cost and for denying legitimate coverage claims.

I'ts like the reverse of sane washing Trump. Every clip they show of Luigi is the 5 seconds he was giving angry face because some cop is digging his fingers into his neck. The hundreds of smiling pics on his social are never show now that they have those. They are calling people who support him freaks in the dark corners of the web even though it's pretty much everywhere in the light of day. Meta, IG, taking down his profile. Even GoFundMe has taken down and returned the money for his legal fund. Etsy has deleted any "Free Luigi" merchandise.
GoFundMe's excuse is they have a policy of not allowing funding for violent crime defenses. Except, he's not been to trial yet, what happened to innocent until proven guilty? Their decision is totally based on speculation and opinion. Why does Etsy care that people want his name on a t-shirt? Seriously something wrong going on. It's like all big corporations got the memo and are conspiring to not let this become a thing which it already has.

Thanks Captain Obvious. Not the point. If GoFundMe wants to look ethical they should operate in the same manner as the law, giving the assumption of innocents instead of relying on public opinion. And honestly they are not even doing that. The vast majority of people outside of corporate new media seem to think he's kind of a hero. Like it or not, that's the majority of public opinion. Terror that the standard medication that I have ordered for my patient will not be covered. Terror that I will be on the phone for 30-60 minutes while other patients are suffering and waiting for my attention. Terror that even if I get past the automated robots and present my case to a human, that it will need to be reviewed again by some other anonymous human who then has my patient's health and possibly life in their hands. I feel terror when I have to call the patient back and explain that the routine medication wasn't approved. I feel terror when I have to re-review and try to find another option for the patient which will take more time and augment more suffering for them and all the others waiting for care. This is terrifying.

For-profit prisons are Trump's next big thing.
It's estimated if he goes through his deportation plan, the conversation they have already had with his team is they expect to expand their prison facilities by 400%. That's 4x their current profit model.
by Anonymous | reply 383 | December 19, 2024 6:15 AM |
And once those prisons are built, they have to be continually filled to turn a profit, long after the show of deportation is over.
Maybe that's the reason Trump keeps threatening politicians and media figures with prosecution.
by Anonymous | reply 384 | December 19, 2024 11:14 AM |
Trump's list while long is nothing close to filling one of those prisons. I do think he will push the boundaries and arrest natural born citizens on any made up excuse if their skin is brown. If people of color dare to have a Black Lives Matter protest again, he will use the full force of the US military on them.

[quote]It's estimated if he goes through his deportation plan, the conversation they have already had with his team is they expect to expand their prison facilities by 400%. That's 4x their current profit model.
Yes, I think anyone who's passed high school algebra is aware that 4x = 400%, but this makes no sense. Deportation means exactly that: forcible eviction from the country. Republicans are currently going hog wild with "ambitious plans" to build huge concentration camps ā but only temporary ones, and specifically as a very short-term step before kicking them out entirely.
I know Trump is batshit, but why on earth would he need THAT many prisons if he's expelling all of the "Mexican rapists"? There's also the not-so-small matter of things like, say, construction time. And the fact that federal authorities have limited jurisdiction within the states: you don't think Repugs would kill "sanctuary cities" if they could?
Finally, crime in America peaked in 1992. We have far too MANY prisons at this point, and the for-profit ones were the first to collapse.
But OTOH most of DL seems to be in Chicken Little mode, as if we'll instantly arrive in some dystopian nightmare, or that Trump's "mass deportation" plan will work. (It will not. Period. It's merely a question of the scale of the disaster. If he deports too few, the Extreme MAGA base will be displeased. If he deports too many, he'll succeed in alienating many of the Hispanics he flipped to his side, none of whom seem to grasp that Trump can ā and WILL ā deport even Dreamers.)
But, again, no one's going on a prison-building spree, and I'm sure we'll be hearing fucked-up shit like children along the border being literally caged while in custody. (But as with the upcoming detention centers, to be built on land those assholes in Texas have already provided, they were only temporary.)
by Anonymous | reply 386 | December 19, 2024 4:10 PM |
The prisons will be where they house the homeless and the debtors.
Those able-bodied enough will be put to work doing the things that the expelled "illegals" used to do.
Attractive white women will be farmed like livestock to increase the domestic supply of infants.
Russia used Ukrainian POWs for organ farms, for their wealthy. So, that's also a possibility.
Trump himself has mentioned several times wanting to watch illegals fight one another or drug dealers be executed publicly. People from those facilities could be used in gladiatorial combat for mass entertainment (or entertainment for the elites).
There are myriad terrible things that can be done to groups by people who think they deserve to be hurt. And these things can and will all be monetized.)
by Anonymous | reply 387 | December 19, 2024 4:26 PM |
anyone who's ever downloaded anything illegally will be put in prison to work off what they owe, plus interest, to whichever corporations they stole from.
by Anonymous | reply 388 | December 19, 2024 4:31 PM |
All those people who had their student loans forgiven by President Biden? They'll get sent to those prisons, I mean "repayment camps", because Trump will be deeming that forgiveness illegal and after he adds more judges on SCOTUS, he will criminalize anything like that being done ever again.
America only bails out Big Business, fellas.
