I used to live by the Art Museum in Philly, and it was a great area to watch sunsets.
Where are the best places in America to see the sunset, other than at the oceans, the gulf or great lakes?

A new low for stupid openings to a thread.
Any place where you can see it set. Duh.

Brooklyn Heights Promenade. It's better in the winter when you can actually see the sun set, but it is dramatic all year because of the Lower Manhattan skyline, Statue of Liberty and harbor in the foreground of the sunset sky, which is more interesting than the actual event.
My first thought was what R1 said, anywhere you can see it.

Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens during the US Open, with the NYC skyline in the background.

The west coast of Florida. The skies over the gulf are beautiful most of the time because of all the beautiful clouds, but sunsets are usually very spectacular between the sky and the colors on the water.
