I lost my wallet yesterday. I'm thinking about going completely walletless. It feels weird, like walking out the door naked. It seems everything, including my state driver license, when the replacement arrives, can be stored/used in an app like Google Wallet. If you go walletless, have you encountered any problems or issues?
Do you still use a wallet?

Havent but two years ago replaced it for a small thin card holder : it can take 3/4 cards, two notes or so and no coins. Ended the tendency to stuff everything in it and is very practical.

No. I'm in London and it would be weird to use cash. I use my phone for transactions but bring my card with me 'just in case'. I can't remember the last time I took any cash out.

I do tote my wallet around with me but I do most things on my phone now. My drivers license is also on my phone. So I don't really need my wallet now. I love my wallet - it's Paul Smith. Yes OP we are moving to having everything on our phones. If Apple pay or PayPal fall over then we're all fucked.

Treat yourself to a wallet from Launer (the Queen's purse maker).

Goyard card case is all I carry. I too use my phone for most transactions but occasionally need an actual card. I also need to carry my drivers license.

Stopped carrying it about a dozen years ago when I selected new financial advisors.
They gave me a money clip when I signed up and have been using it since. Holds about 5 cards and of course a clip for cash.
I keep the excess stuff that was in my old wallet in a Faraday case in my glove compartment.

Goyard card case. That's a good idea R5. I've just remembered I have one of those I have never used.

I still do.
At first thought, it seems a good idea to go without, but not so easily done. By law, I should carry 2 original/physical ID cards, one for residency/national ID the other a passport card. I carry a national healthcare card though it's needed only when I refill prescriptions. I carry one credit card which I use for almost everything; and I carry a backup credit card for the rare occasion when I need a credit card issued from the country where I live. I carry a bank card which I use about once a month to get cash for very small expenses, tips, and sundry cash-only expenses or gifts.
Six cards total. It would be easy to have them in an electronic wallet on my mobile.
Because I have the wallet, I usually have some 'folding money' stuffed away in it, plus a few extra business cards for my partner. If travelling, I may add a couple of museum cards or passes. Again, things that could be in an electronic wallet.
Now I am contemplating the switch (and wondering how many hundreds of times my hand will touch might right ass pocket every time I leave the house or stand up at a restaurant or finish paying for something.

Goyard is ridiculously overrated and expensive.

Lo and behold, I got the wallet back. A guy found it in the street on his way home. He speaks only Spanish, so he brought it to his to his job at a vegetable market and his manager contacted a cell number I had in it. There are many honest and decent people in New York City.
I'm going to take the advice posted on here to carry only one debit card, a driver license, and health insurance card, they and everything else will go on Google Wallet, plus a card with contact information and minimal cash.

What do you do with the six insurance cards that some have to carry? Are they on your phone too? I also have pizza rewards card etc, they make you carry and other assorted things, how do you manage stuff?

R14, I found out most things can go into Google Wallet. My health insurance company's android app stored an offline copy of my card on my phone, an option I never knew existed until today. NYS state has an app for storing state IDs on a phone, including drivers license, and they are all completely legal and must be honored as ID, really why should it matter if you have the card or the card stored on your phone? As for stuff like a pizza reward card, I'd carry it and any other shit I didn't mind losing. The more important stuff is staying home and on my phone so I won't have to cancel and replace them if I lose them again.

Did you give him a reward? I would've given him at least $100.
