Why didn't it work? Were any of the other cast members offered spinoffs?
Why did Joey get canned after only 2 seasons

I thought it got a bum rap. It was ok as far as sitcoms go. The only thing I didn't care for was inventing a new sister for Joey. They should have just used one of the existing names from Friends...they had 7 to choose from.
They also should have had his mother stop by. Brenda could have used the work! I think his father did a guest shot.

It wasn't funny and Drea DeMatteo is not a comedic actress.

"Joey" was an appallingly awful show, that's why.
It reminded me of the last season of "Laverne & Shirley" when they moved to California.

It was a terrible and unfunny tv series. I'm only surprised it wasn't cancelled after season 1. It would have been these days.

It wasn’t funny and the characters were boring. Also the actor playing Drea’s son was only 6 years younger than her. It was ridiculous casting.
