I did not like Heath Ledger in his role as “Joker”.

Undiagnosed neurodivergence. The sleep issues are neurodivergent related. (“There is a well-documented link between neurodivergence and sleep issues, as many neurodivergent conditions, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and others, are associated with difficulties in initiating, maintaining, and achieving restful sleep. This relationship can stem from a combination of biological, neurological, and environmental factors.” CGPT)
If you want to find a neurodivergent actor, look for this vector.

I'm more interested in the MK Olsen angle. Was he fucking her? Was she his dealer? Is the twins' fashion house a cover for money laundering? I guess we'll never know.

Rumor had it that he did drugs with randoms hanging out at the Beverly Hills hotel. He was even hanging out during Oscar week, while Michelle was stuck with Baby Matilda in their suite. He allegedly cleaned up, and only drank and did pot, but he had gone through a period where he was into cocaine, pills, and all kinds of shit. Some of the people who were in his circle were Colin Farrell, Kristen Dunst, the Olsens, Joaquin Phoenix, and Johnny Depp who had introduced him to drugging when he was dating Heather Graham, and she was making a movie with Depp, From Hell, about Jack the Ripper. Heath was known for his kindness, his generosity, and his creativity. I read a story about Martin Henderson who had come to LA from Australia, and after a couple jobs, he hit a dry spell and was totally broke. He crashed at Heath's house, and Heath gave Martin his per diem to live off of. He helped him get on his feet. Another Aussie Heath was close to was Rose Byrne. When Heath died, it was Depp who paid for his family to come from Australia, and he put everyone up in one of his houses in Beverly Hills. Katie Holmes was close to Michell Williams at the time from their days at Dawsons Creek, and she got Tom Cruise to have the studio, Paramount I think, to host the memorial service. A lot of people in the Hollywood community were very fond of Heath. IMO Heath was spiraling from the insomnia, and when he went to work on the Doctor Parnassus film for the Monty Python guy everything started to fall apart, including financing for the movie. He had pneumonia and was really sick and kept working, there was a break at Christmas, and he wanted to see his kid, but Michelle wouldn't let him because they were separated, so he travelled back to Australia. His family was worried about him, then he went to NYC where he died. Colin Farrell and Jude Law completed the movie for him. My favorite Heath was his Vanity Fair cover. He was a beauty.

Ledger was a herion junkie from his days on Knight's Tale. Everyone in the business knew it. How they got him insured, who knows. Terry Gilliam was his fave director for a reason.

R4 Insomnia is no joke. I’m learning that sleeping restoratively is big determinant in the quality of life, functioning of your body’s systems, and now relationships. I’m a really poor sleeper and honestly a little freaked out about the effects of that, past, present and future.

True. My ex suffered from sleep apnea long before it was studied. He could not fall asleep unless he got drunk or worked himself to exhaustion. By the time those machines were invented, he was a full-blown alcoholic. Had he found some other way to get a decent night's sleep, he would have been so much healthier.
